Synopsis
"I love you but you can't love me." I whispered, my voice breaking in the middle as he touched my tear covered cheeks. "I can't do that because I already love you." He said back, his breath hitting my face. There he was standing in all of his glory, his hair styled just the way I liked it and his crimson eyes staring deep into mine. I could smell his cologne because of how close he was to me, our breaths mingling together because of the proximity. His hand caressed my cheek and in that moment all I wanted to do was kiss him right then and there but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for people you love. ___ All Dove wanted when she entered the Academy For All was to finish the school year as fast as possible and prove to her father that sending her there was a complete waste of her time. Well, that was how she had thought everything would turn out. What she didn't plan for was to make friends, make an enemy with a rude angel, get paired with the boy that makes her want to pull out all of her hair, and then fall in love with the said boy. Kai doesn't care for much-- well that's what people think. He carries on with life with a bad boy persona and routinely gets with girls for the fun of it and then moves on the next day. At first, all that was there between him and Dove was the kick he got out of teasing her and the threats she threw his way because of how much he bugged her. That's all that was there between them. Well... he thought that was all there was between them but then he started realizing how he didn't want to picture her with anyone that wasn't him and how different she really was. As Dove struggles to not kill Kai and work with him since she has to, she realizes that there is more to Kai than the bad boy image he has going on for him. Soon enough, Dove finds herself getting close to Kai and finding herself in situations where she no longer remembers how much she used to despise him. As their relationship strengthens, the secrets that they had buried away start to show and their insecurities start to surface. Would they be able to accept one another even with the extent of their secrets? Is it possible for them to overcome the hurdles that are forecasted in their future? Will love prevail and signify the start of something beautiful or is the time to give up near? Will there be another boy with crimson eyes that’ll swoop in and save the day instead? Read to find out :)

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

I pulled out the handle and hauled the luggage along with me after I descended from the car and it sped away, back to the depths of hell. It was a black colored suitcase that had wheels, carrying my clothes that I had magically confined in there to fit so I wouldn't have to carry around another piece of luggage along with me. Now that would be too much work.

The building standing before me was huge, extending vastly in length. The gates were a plain silver, not haunting but not friendly in appearance as I pushed through them.

The weather was hot, with the sun hitting my exposed tan skin that wasn't covered with my light blue crop top and white skirt. There was no wind in sight or a single cloud as the sun's rays heated up my blonde hair and created sweat to start producing on my skin.

"'A wonderful opportunity', he said." I muttered in annoyance, mimicking the voice of my father who claimed that attending The Academy For All would be an "experience that would be beneficial in the long run". In truth he just wanted my presence to be gone.

"Hey do you need help?" Someone asked, as I looked around to hear where the perky voice was coming from.

He had pale blond hair, his hair shining under the sun and giving his face a more angelic appearance than it already had. His skin was sunkissed, adding warmth to the smile that he was wearing. He had pale blue, sparkling eyes that were paired with long lashes, adding onto his cheerful appearance.

"Hi. I should probably introduce myself first. Aidan from the Sunset class, I'm assuming you're new?" He asked, now standing in front of me.

"Oh Hey, I'm Dove. It's nice to meet you Aidan and yes, I am new around here." I said, shooting him a smile back.

Oh boy, I forgot how interacting with people felt like. Well, besides a depressing father I mean.

"So Dove, do you need help?" Aidan asked, looking down at the bag that I was dragging along with me while I cluelessly looked around at people passing by, wondering where I'm supposed to be going.

"I actually do, but not with carrying the bag. I have to meet the principal and I have no idea where his office even is." I said, summing up my dilemma at hand.

"Oh, I can help you with that. Are you sure you want to drag your bag there though? It might get tiring since it's a few minutes worth of walking. Do you not have a dorm yet?" He asked, as he started taking the lead as we walked to what I believe was the office.

"Don't worry, I'm good. Besides, it's not that heavy. And no, I ended up applying last minute this school year so I was told I'd be given information on the first day about where my dorm is and my classes instead of getting the letter that you guys got." I answered.

"Last minute? Woah, I've never heard of someone getting in at the last minute before, you must be super smart that you managed to do that since the competition for newcomers is always high."

"Yeah, something like that." I replied, lying through my teeth.

---

"Here we are." Aidan said, pointing at the door that was right in front of us.

"Oh I forgot to tell you, Thank you for helping me Aidan. Means a lot since I'd probably be wondering around if it wasn't for you." I said, flashing a smile at his way.

"A-Anytime." Aidan said, his cheeks flushing as his hand went behind his neck as if embarrassed.

"If you need my help, I live in the 2D building in room 12. Wait, you're probably not gonna find where that is. Uhh.. here!" Aidan said, pulling out a piece of paper and pen out of midair and writing on it while using the wall as support.

"That's my number. Give me a call whenever you need it." Aidan said sheepishly, his face resembling a tomato by now.

"I'll make sure to keep that in mind." I said, smiling at how cute he looked.

"I'll see you at the assembly later today. It was nice to meet you Dove." Aidan siad, running off as I saw him almost trip over on his feet.

"How cute." A guy muttered as I walked into the room, mockery filled in his words.

"Oh.. you heard that?" I asked the guy sitting on a chair in the office, his face turned away and only his dark haired head in my eyesight.

"No, I was talking to myself." He said, turning around with a fake serious face and a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

He has a deep voice. There's no way to fully explain it but it's the time you could feel vibrating inside your body but still sleep too. See, it's hard to explain.

He was handsome, a different type of beauty compared to Aidan but ethereal nonetheless. His eyes were colored a crimson red, with a hint of amusement on his face, as if it was getting a kick out of annoying me. His hair clashed with his pale skin since it was black that resembled a black void that was shiny and appeared to be healthy. He was sitting on the chair and was wearing black attire consisting of jeans and a slight oversized hoodie, but upon closer inspection he appeared to be pretty fit even under the hoodie.

"Alright." I said, not in the mood to pick a fight and listen to an earful from my father if I happened to get in a dispute on my first day.

"Hi, is the principal around? I need to talk to him." I said to the lady sitting at the front office, consumed with whatever was on the screen of the computer she was typing away on.

"Oh hi honey, he's currently in there with someone, so you'll have to wait. You can take a seat next to the gentlemen over there." She said, pointing to the seat before going back into ignoring the world as she worked on the computer.

"Yeah princess, you're daddy's not here to get you everything you want." He said, his deep voice that was once pretty hot to me now irking me.

"Listen. I don't know what's your problem but if you could shut up, I think everyone would appreciate it." I said, retaliating to his unnecessary berate.

"Oo, she's feisty." He said, smirking up at me from his sitting position.

"I get that you think this is the way you get girls, but your comments are nothing but annoying." I responded, getting close to his face as my inner anger started to boil. Screw the lecture!

"That actually hurt my feelings princess, right here." He said, getting up and standing much closer to me as he pointed at his heart.

"Can you stop calling me princess." I said, hating the way that he said it. Even though he said it in a mocking way, his looks paired with his deep voice when he said it made it pretty hot but still annoying of course.

"Aw what are you going to do if I don't princess? Hit me?" He asked, his eyes narrowing while his smirk remained on his face as he looked at me.

"You better hope that's all that I do to you." I replied, but before I could threaten him and do anything further, I was interrupted with the sound of a masculine voice that was a bit pitchy from behind me.

"Dove." He said, his statement and voice structured in a way that shut down the unfolding of the events that were about to take place.

"Please come into my office." He said, before he turned around and went back into the hole he came out from.

"Great." I muttered as I followed him into the room after I spat a mean look at the guy who went back to sitting on the chair with a smirk still on his face.

How does the universe always find a way to turn on me?
