"I feel like your life is a fairytale." Zora muttered after I told her what had happened.
"More like a nightmare." I said, watching the clock since there was a matter of 5 minutes left till this class was over.
Then it was third period, lunch (which I'm dreading- crazy right?), and the rest of the classes before the day was over.
"I get it now. The ship thing that Ariel kept on talking about." Zora said.
"Oh please no. I get it. He's cute and nice at times but him and I? Never will happen. And I know you're about to ask why and it's simply because he's not my type and I'm not looking for a relationship." I said, grabbing the backpack that I had placed on the ground.
"That's what they all say." Zora said as soon as the bell rang.
"What was that? Couldn't hear over all the bullsh*t." I said, walking alongside Zora since I had no idea where we were going.
"Do you know where your next class is?" Zora said as I looked at my schedule paper that said Room 310.
"Nope." I said, smiling in fake joy.
"Oh look heres Ariel!" Zora said, as soon as we spotted Ariel zooming towards us.
"What was the emergency??" Ariel asked, holding me by my shoulders as she looked at me with a look of alert.
"You guys walk to class and catch up. PS the ship is sailing. I repeat the ship is sailing." Zora said before walking away as soon as she saw me about to open my mouth and cut her off.
"Ooo! I'm all ears." Ariel said, linking arms as she dragged me to our class which was in another building entirely.
"Oh here we go again." I said, before beginning the story but changing it to a shortened version that omitted Kai's name since I had a clue Ariel already knew and I didn't want any passersby to get the wrong idea.
After I successfully explained the situation even with all of Ariels interruptions like her squeals of delight, we finally reached the room.
"We are here!" Ariel declared as we pushed open the door and entered the room to find only a small number of people in the room.
"Oh Ive been talking about my day so much I never asked Zora or you yet. How's your day been going?" I said, sitting next to a window as Ariel followed suit and sat next to me.
"Ive successfully avoided making a fool out of myself and haven't seen Stephanie and any of her friends so far in any of my classes so I call that a wonderful day so far." Ariel said, talking with her hands while explaining.
"You just jinxed yourself." I said, pointing at the blonde girl walking in the room.
She was wearing a white tube top with a jean skirt, a white scrunchie holding her hair in a ponytail, and heels(?).
"I totally did." Ariel said, face palming herself.
"It's fine I'm here as your bodyguard whenever you need it." I said, reassuring Ariel as I stared back at the snake who was apparently trying to intimidate me with her glare.
"Thank my lucky stars." Ariel muttered, looking anywhere but towards Stephanie and the girl that was following behind her.
The girl had purple hair cut to her shoulders. She had moderately wavy hair and pretty grey eyes. Her outfit consisted of white shirt tucked into black high waisted shorts and white boots. She was cute but the facial expression that she was making aka a mean look just ruined the whole thing. And the fact that she seemed to be friends with Stephanie didn't really make it any better.
"I'm surprised she's not wearing something that shows her cleavage considering she usually wears something more revealing whenever I see her coming home." I said, resting my face on my hand.
"Yeah, the dress code about not wearing inappropriate clothes doesn't get swayed for anyone no matter your influence or your body type." Ariel said, replying to my question.
Right after Ariel said that a bunny hopped into the room before a puff of smoke replaced the figure of the body and a petite woman appeared.
She looked so adorable with her t-shirt that had a cartoon bunny drawn on it with glasses and her white jeans. She had bunny ears on her head and round glasses perched on her nose, covering her golden eyes that had a twinkle of excitement in them.
"Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Fawn! Ironic, I know since I came in here as a bunny and not a farm. But I didn't want to scare anyone so I decided a bunny would do. I'll be teaching the Class of Creatures and you'll see me pretty much everyday for the entire semester. We'll learn and see some pretty cool animals and better yet we'll have some real fun! Now are you guys ready for all the fun your about to have?" She said bouncing while she excitedly talked. In order to over dramatize the situation she cupped her ears as she waited for a loud "yes".
Instead of sitting there and being a part of the crowd that looked at the woman as if she was crazy, I said "yes" in unison with a number of other people in the class like Ariel.
"What was that? I'd need you to be louder than that!" She said, trying to make us more excited.
Ironically enough, you'd expect she got a louder response for the second time but she didn't. Then the typical thing that's expected to happen after the students don't seem to be interested at all in yelling "yes" in unison is to drop it and move on with the class but Ms. Fawn was not budging till we yelled a "yes".
"Just say yes." I muttered as she cupped her ears again.
"YES!" The class yelled, our screams mixed in a concoction of chaos, boredom, and fake enthusiasm.
"Perfect." Ms. Fawn said before pulling out a clipboard.
"Sorry everyone but please pick up your belongings. We will be having assigned seats and your partner and you will most likely stay the same till the end of the semester. How exciting isn't it to bond with someone like that? Anyways, the names will be in order from first name! I decided to switch it up from the traditional last names." Ms. Fawn explained as everyone picked up their belongings and moved to the front of the class.
"...Ariel Winters and Aaron Turner..." She started, reading from the clipboard and apologizing when she butchered someone's name.
"Till we meet again m'lady." Ariel said, dramatically as she began walking away from me.
"We are in the same room." I said in reply to her over dramatic behavior.
"I said till we meet again!" Ariel said, pushing away my sarcastic remark as she grinned at me and went to her seat, nervousness beginning to show in her movements as she sat down.
"Dove Gray and Dabin Lee" She said, after a lot of people's names were called.
Dabin, the person who I was going to sit next to, had jet black hair and a dimple on his cheek as a smile flashed on his pale skin when he looked at me in greeting.
Okay, he was cute.
"Hey, I'm Dove." I said, greeting him while I put my stuff down and sat next to him.
"I know, you're in my first period." He replied, adding "Dabin by the way" at the end.
"You are?" I asked, confused since I don't remember seeing him.
"Now you think I'm a stalker." He said, sheepishly.
"No no I don't, I just didn't pay attention to who was in my class first period so I didn't know but that's nice, we have two periods together." I replied, embarrassed that I didn't know his name prior to now.
"Don't sweat it, you were talking with your boyfriend so I guess you wouldn't have noticed and the only reason I knew your name was because Ms. Roberts said it out loud." He answered, his dimple back on his face as he talked with a smile.
"He's not my boyfriend." I replied, immediately shutting down the rumor.
"You sure?" Dabin asked after I took out my notebook.
"Yup. We are just friends." I clarified.
"Well that's good to know." Dabin said sort of flirtatiously.
"Is it?" I questioned rhetorically, my flirting skills nowhere to be found.
"Mhm, I look forward to working with you Dove." Dabin said, flashing one of his swoon worthy smiles at me before he started taking out a notebook as we started taking notes.
"Likewise Dabin." I said smiling back.
