"So I found my spot and it happened to be the same place next to Kai." I said, jumping into my bed and getting comfortable as Ariel and Zora sat at my side.
"Oo~" Ariel interrupted, wiggling her eyebrows like a creep.
"Ariel.. she just started." Zora said, as we looked at her with blank expressions.
"Sheesh I was hyping Dove up but go on I guess." She said, rolling her eyes before cracking a smile.
"He kept pestering me but he turned out to be a great help since he told me what the assembly was about since the principal kept blabbering and I was kind of nodding off to sleep."
"I took a nap too." Zora commented.
"So you can talk and I can't." Ariel mumbled, in fake annoyance.
"Your free to comment, Ariel." I said before continuing on.
"Turned out that the place you were supposed to get your band from was according to what section you were at so I got a choker." I said, pointing at the choker around my neck that I was about to take off since we only needed it in school.
"Who did you get paired with?" Ariel asked, showing me her bracelet while Zora showed me her ring.
"It's Kai." Zora said, answering Ariels question.
"How did you know?" I asked, confused on how spot on Zora was.
"I just had this inner feeling." Zora replied.
"Just say your a genius and move on. We get we aren't as smart as you." Ariel said, finishing up the last bits of her popcorn.
"It's called an educated guess." Zora humphed.
"Well, it turned out that my direction skills are absolute garbage and I'm a complete idiot for not charging my phone or bringing a map with me in case." I said, getting up because I remembered I had to charge my phone.
"I can feel the climax coming." Ariel said, looking at me in anticipation.
"Okay maybe I lied it's not that long of a story. But I walked around in circles and I guess Kai saw so he helped me here and thats pretty much it." I summarized, realizing how short it really was.
"Eee! I can see it now. Four kids, a big house, some animals— a cat or dog or two maybe— a big backyard and a giant pool-"
"Okay, Ariel. I'll stop you there." I said, shuddering in disgust.
Like he's cute and that was nice of him, but it's a hard pass for me considering how he only helped in exchange for favors— which I did leave out when telling my story since I didn't want them to think of me as gullible or dumb.
"I'll warn you Dove. He's known to be nice to girls in the first week where he tries to sleep with them and he's pretty much an a** after that just how he is to a lot of people. Sure he's a goof and jokes around, but I haven't really seen him ever attending class for a whole week and a half or not getting in a fight at least once a month. I know it's your decisions but since we are friends now, I just want you to know since your new." Zora said, her eyes on me.
"Well if he's planning on sleeping with me he's dead wrong because you need to work harder to get some of this." I said, jokingly as I added "jk" at the end.
"But yeah, I had a feeling since Aidan was talking to me and ran away as soon as Kai showed up next to me." I said, remembering how I heard "hi princess" right after Aidan said bye to me and fled.
"Oh yeah, Aidan and Kai are a pair that don't go together at all." Ariel said.
"What Ariel said. Stephanie is basically obsessed with Kai even though he barely gives her any attention. Good thing she's not here because she'd probably sense we are talking about him from her room and try to eavesdrop and create her plan to ruin our lives like she already is." Zora said, taking a makeup wipe from a drawer and taking off her eyeliner.
"What does Stephanie's obsession have to do with Aidans hatred?" I asked.
"Kai basically broke her heart publicly and pretty rudely but I personally don't blame the guy. Stephanie told everyone they were together even when he told her they weren't but he could've worded his public announcement a bit better. Aidan is apart of the student council and since we are all — Kai, you, me, Zora, Stephanie— all second years—so the same class—he's in charge of a lot of the things that happen with our class. Like the posters, getting assembly's together, making us follow the rules, enforcing the rules, and all that. Kai does the opposite of what Aidan says to do so they have a rivalry going on." Ariel summed up.
"I forgot to ask y'all what classes you guys have." I finally realized, pulling out my schedule as I shooed Ariel and Zora to get up and get theres.
"Damn it I'm alone in first." I replied, seeing that Zora and Ariel shared first period.
"Me and you have... English and Math together. If your good at math, I'll need you for that one." Zora said, comparing our schedules.
"Me and you only have Class of Creatures together." Ariel said, making a sad face in realization.
"Class of Creatures?" I asked in question.
"Yeah we basically learn about different creatures like how to take care of them and how they behave, their power, and all that. It's typical of me to like it because I love animals and all." Ariel said, handing me back my paper.
"At least we all share Herbology together.. right?" I asked.
"It would be great if the teacher didn't suck." Zora said, sighing in defeat after looking at her paper
"What are your other two?" Ariel asked, even though she just looked at my paper.
"History of Magic for 1st and Class of Defense for last so 6th period." I said, glancing at my paper in confirmation.
"Class of Defense? Why'd you choose to do that?" Zora asked.
"Why? Is it bad? Should I drop out of it?" I asked.
"It's not bad but mostly boys take it to show off their power and they spar a lot of the time to show dominance. It's a ton of testosterone in there but there are a couple of girls and maybe some guys there that do it for the athletics and exercise." Zora replied.
"Yeah. It's pretty cool watching them spar but a lot of them are cocky." Ariel replied.
"Most of them are vampires because they have more power than anyone else here so they like showing it off." Zora added.
"Why'd you decide to take it?" Ariel asked.
"I just wanted an excuse to punch something and not sit in a desk." I answered, my natural instinct of not being confined in a chair driving my choice of choosing to take that class.
I mean my uncle told me they did sparring and I thought it was a wonderful excuse to break some stereotypes people had been feeding on about girls being weak but I knew there was a limit to what I could do since who I am was a disguise.
Well I guess it's up to the future to decide what happens and if I happen to drop out.
