"You've never watched The Lion King?" He asked, exclaiming in shock when I shook my head in response.
"Never. Not even the other Disney classics." I said, my head rested on the wall as I sat by him but with a distance between us.
A couple of minutes had passed since we got here so the only way we had been passing the time was through idle talk. It was distracting and I ended up learning more about him so the talk on different topics wasn't completely useless.
It's so funny how people have this perception that distractions eliminate anxiety when that's not the case. While talking to him my nails still picked at my cuticles and my mind still paced at the countless thoughts it was filled with.
I know guys, what's the point in worrying since I can't do anything about the situation I was in. Well tell that to my anxiety and my mind!
After the room was once again filled with a silence that was hinted with awkwardness, the phone in my pocket started to buzz with the name "Zora" written on the top.
"Hey Dove, where are you?" Zora asked, whispering into the phone.
"Listen carefully." I said before recounting the situation that went down a couple of minutes ago to get her up to speed.
"How'd you get yourself in this mess?" She asked after the sound of a door closing was heard through the phone.
"I'll talk to you about that later. I need you to find the Janitor and get me and Kai out of here first." I said, shutting off my phone as we said our byes to one another.
"Finally I'll be saved from your awful jokes and stories." Kai said, breaking the silence that was beginning to form after the phone call.
"Your making it sound like I was enjoying myself in here." I said, rolling my eyes at him.
"Nice try Princess, but I know deep down you were bouncing in your boots at the opportunity to be in this situation." Kai joked.
"That's the last thing I'd ever want. You probably set this up so you could corner me and get me to forgive you." I said.
"Princess, I knew you were going to forgive me because your head over heels in love with me so there was no need." Kai replied.
"From what I recall, you asked me to be your friend." I said, poking fun at him.
"I think your growing old because I don't remember that happening." Kai responded, trying to deny the inevitable truth.
"'When I entered school people usually avoided me because I looked scary then they-'" I said, getting cut off as I repeated Kai's words back to him when I asked him why he wanted to be my friend.
"Can we forget that ever happened." Kai said groaning in embarrassment.
"What do I get out of it?" I questioned, trying to get some sort of benefit out of this ordeal.
"One favor no questions asked?" He proposed.
"Why is our deals always favor exchange based and you haven't even used your favors yet." I said.
"I guess it's because we both are probably broke and have nothing to offer." He answered.
"Your right about that." I nodded in agreement .
"Also, my favors will come in handy in the future so I'm saving them up for something special." He said.
"Can I counter your favors with mine?" I asked.
"Nope."
"Well damn." I said.
"So is it a deal? We won't talk about what happened in here in exchange for one favor." Kai said, sticking his hand out again.
"What about 2?" I said, trying to bargain with him.
"Don't push it." Kai said, his hand still held out.
"Hmm... okay. I don't really need anything from you anyways." I said, shaking his hand.
"Wow. I don't know if I should be flattered or not."
"Your not supposed to be flattered." I said clarifying.

"My savior!" I said, hugging Zora as I heard her voice from the other side of the door before the door finally opened.
"You owe me one Dove." Zora said, hugging me bag while simultaneously patting my back.
"I forgot how light looked." Kai said, joining in with me by making an over exaggerated claim while covering his eyes from the light on the ceiling of the hallway.
"Thank you Mr. Smith!" Zora said, smiling at the man who was now closing the door to the Janitor room.
Mr. Smith was a petite old man with greying hair and a skinny frame. He had bright blue eyes that were similar to the color of the sea.
"Yes thank you." I said, thanking him while nudging Kai to thank him as well to which he did.
"Word of advice kiddos. This place is not the best place for a hook up. I'd recommend classroom 269, it's pretty empty there and there's no automatic locks." He said.
Once he said that and my brain made the connection on what he was implying, my face started to flush red before I loudly exclaimed "No! That's not what was happening. We just got locked in there. Nothing like that."
"It's okay darling. I'm sure your a wonderful young lady but I know what you kids are up to nowadays and I'm not one to judge. Live your life how you please and come to me if you have any future troubles. I think you should get going to class now." He said, walking away before I could interject and exclaim to the world how completely wrong he was.
"Seems like we got caught princess." Kai said, his voice purposefully next to my ear.
After making that statement, he turned on his heels and walked away, hands in his pockets and all.
"That's not what was happening!" I exclaimed, to myself apparently since no one was listening to what I had to say because apparently it was something completely outrageous.
"Come on Dove, let's get going." Zora said, her arm linked with mine as she dragged me to class while I still stared into space with a facial expression that resembled a fish out of water.
"Thats not what happened!" I exclaimed shin, astonished at what just happened and what Mr. Smith just told me.
I just got advice from an old man on where I should get it on with another student. I just- what just happened.
"Shh. You can tell me everything as soon as we get into class." Zora said, as if consoling a traumatized animal.
What just happened?

"Ms. Gray. Care to explain your disappearance for the past 40 minutes from class?" Mr. Cade questioned as soon as we entered class.
"I got lost." I said, not beating around the bush to lay out a whole explanation on my whereabouts and the cause of it.
"Very well. Since you finished the work and appeared to not have gotten caught, you may take a seat." He said before going back to whatever he was looking at on his phone.
"So what took you so long to come find me?" I asked, cutting to the chase on why I say for 30 minutes on a cold floor with Kai as my only form of company.
Speaking of Kai, he appeared to have just completely skipped class since he didn't show up here after leaving the Janitor Room.
"About that. I might have been watching the Vampire Diaries." She said sheepishly, averting from looking at my eyes as I stared at her in disbelief.
"Didn't you notice I was gone for more than the normal time?" I questioned, partially laying in the chair I was sitting in.
"I did, after the episode finished." She said, cracking a smile my way in a form of attempt to ameliorate any form of anger I might have bundled inside of me.
"It's okay. You don't have to look like I'm going to blow up the building. I don't blame you for not looking for me right away." I said, getting weirded out by how creepy the fake smile on Zoras face really was.
"Okay phew. Was worried for a sec. Now it's your turn to answer the questions." Zora said, turning the table.
"Oh would you look at that? It's my nap time. Goodnight." I said, closing my eyes as I faked going to sleep.
After coming to terms with the fact that Zora wasnt going to let this go, I texted Ariel that the emergency was over before I got ready to explain to Zora what really happened minus the entire details.
"So, when I left the room, I spotted the principal and he's not my biggest fan because you could say I didn't have the best first impression so I hid in the closest room I could find. That happened to be the Janitor room..." I said, recalling the entire event that took place just a matter of minutes ago.
