"You don't know where you're going, do you?" He asked me, as I wandered around to find the building where I was supposed to live.
I couldn't find Zora and Ariel anywhere so I was assuming they texted me where they were and I can't see it because smart me forgot to charge her phone.
"Can you leave me alone?" I said, walking a bit faster so he'd quit following me.
"Princess aren't you in debt to me? You should be a little nicer, for your sake of course." He said, keeping up with me.
"Are you threatening me?" I asked, confused on why he was even bringing up my debt.
"Threatening? Of course not." He said, smiling as if to cover it up.
"So are you going to tell me where you live so I can guide you there?" He asked, as I continued to walk in circles because I swear, I saw that tree before.
"If you promise to leave me alone after." I said, negotiating with him as if I was doing something for him.
"Princess, you do know I am the one helping you right?" He asked.
"I was hoping you'd overlook that fact." I sighed before telling him the building as he laughed.
There was a bit of an unusual silence between the two of us as we walked, before I decided to break it.
"Hey Kai, now that I think of it." I said, thinking back to the horror that took place a few minutes ago which was the realization of what my uncle meant when he said to get used to Kai.
"Think of what?" He said, with his eyebrows quirked in question when I glanced at him.
"How do you know my name?" I asked, confused.
"What do you mean?" He asked, a supposedly "confused" expression on his face as if he was trying to feign innocence.
"Ever since I've met you the only way you address me is "princess" which I hate by the way. I've never heard you call me Dove so how did you know who the person on the paper was? Are you a stalker?" I asked, taking a step away from him as precaution if he did happen to be a stalker.
"A stalker? Geez princess your imagination." He said, chuckling.
"Are you avoiding the question?" I asked, my turn to quirk my eyebrow in question.
"What if I don't want to tell you how?" He questioned, taking a step towards me.
"That's even more creepy. I might have to report this to the authorities." I said, fake seriously.
"To who exactly?" He asked, close to me now as I looked into his crimson eyes.
"That's for me to know and you to find out." I said, smirking at him.
"What do I get if I tell you?" He asked.
"Your saying that as if I'm asking for something that's personal to you." I replied.
"It might be."
"What does that mean?" I asked, confused if he was joking around still or not.
"Come on princess, let's get you home." He said, walking forward as I stood still.
"Are you not going to move?" He asked.
"Nope." I said, shaking my head.
"Well, then I guess I'm going to have to tell you then." He said, as if giving in quickly.
"Might as well."
"Or I can just go home by myself and leave you here." He said, a finger on his chin as if in thought.
"You can't possibly leave me alone in the middle of the night where creatures lurk would you?" I said, trying to convince him to take me home (even though I was telling him to leave me alone but shh) and also spill how he knew.
"Why not? I thought you told me to leave you alone so I might as well do that." He said, a serious look on his face.
Damn, I thought he'd forget about that.
"I don't know, if I was able to get one more favor out of you, I might do it." He said, as if thinking out loud.
"You're hilarious. Well see you then. I'll find my way on my own." I said, walking away from him.
"You're walking the opposite way." He said, as I walked a few steps away.
"I knew that." I said, walking the other way.
"You're hopeless." He said, sighing as he watched me walk away.
"Okay, I'll tell you." He said, pulling me to the left pathway and not the right.
"Really?" I asked, excited for some reason to know.
"Yeah, I was joking with you. It's not a personal secret or anything. So you remember when you were threatening me?" He asked.
"That's all the time." I replied.
"True. But the first time we met and I called you a daddy's girl." He said, trying to help me remember a memory I had not forgotten.
"Mhm." I said, nodding as I hummed in agreeance.
"The headmaster said your name, so I just remembered." He said.
"I'm still labeling you as a stalker." I said, spotting the building.
"Well, if I was. I now know where you live." He said, the realization dawning on me what I had done.
"There's like 100 rooms in there, you can't find mine." I said, as I got ready to enter the building.
"Is that a challenge?" He asked, as if I was challenging him to a duel.
"Maybe." I said, joking around with him.
"Well princess, now I might just become a stalker."
"Watch it. I might just call the authorities." I said, our conversation winding to an end.
"See you princess. Go get your beauty sleep, because you need it." He said.
"Just when I thought you were not that bad." I muttered to which Kai laughed.
"I hope the bed bugs bite!" I said back, walking into the building before he could reply with some absurd comment.
As soon as I unlocked the door that entered the "apartment" like room I was sharing, a body jumped onto me and knocked me down.
"DOVE I'VE MISSED YOU!" Ariel exclaimed, right into my ear.
"Ariel, it's been like two hours since I saw you last." I replied, laughing at the over dramatic persona of Ariel.
"2 hours 15 minutes and 10 seconds." Ariel said, getting off me as she wiped fake tears.
"Where have you been?" Zora asked, offering a hand to help me up.
"It's a long story." I said.
"Good, because I'm not ready to go to sleep yet." Zora said, as we all looked at the clock which read 10:32 (am).
It would be considered late for someone who was in the Sunrise class since school started at about 8 am for them. But since ours started early into the night (7:00pm), we had hours till we needed to sleep. Which for me personally was around 2:00 pm.
"I got the popcorn!" Ariel exclaimed, running into the kitchen in excitement.
