"Right after attendance and the seat time discussion will come the warning. Sunrise class aka the humans and the Sunset class are not to engage with one another. It is alright to greet them and become friends but if the Sunset class is seen as manipulating or using their power on the other class, they will be expelled immediately and face grave consequences. After that, he'll discuss the expectations like don't dress outrageously and be respectful and all that jazz. Then will come the discussion about the sealing." He said, his face close to mines as he whispered so the administration wouldn't see that we weren't paying attention in the slightest.
"The sealing?" I questioned, unaware of what he was talking about.
"I was getting to that. The sealing is when each professor in a class that does not involve you using your power like English will place a sealing on everyone so there is no unfair advantage. It's usually during tests. Oh since we are talking about class, he'll also mention how class are set up. Meaning, everyday you don't go to the same class or all of your classes besides the first day of the semester. Everyday after the first you go to your first three classes and then the next day your last three and repeat. "
"I guess that makes sense." I muttered, commenting in the middle of his explanation.
"It does and on the sealing topic, everyone knows how manipulation works around here. The teacher and staff are aware of how manipulation works and how to not be controlled by people who have that power so it doesn't work on them especially because they've all gone through the ceremony which granted them the ability to repel manipulation. In other words, manipulate them and you're a goner. Especially if you do it to her." He said, pointing at a lady standing by my uncle.
She had black hair that was pin straight and reached her chin. Although she was tiny, a height that could be thought of as being cute and fragile, she had a strict facial expression as if permanently glued to her face.
"Even though summarizing was the only thing we agreed to, avoid her at all cost and get in trouble with her around. She does not forgive or give warnings."
"Wow, how kind of you to tell me that." I replied, rolling my eyes at how he was projecting himself to be so utterly kindhearted.
"I know princess, I try. Anyways, besides all of that he'll also talk about the bands we'll get right after his speech."
"Bands?"
Why were they giving out bands?
"You probably don't know what that is either. So basically, everyone in the Sunset class, which is like 1000 people, are paired with someone. It helps create a more "efficient" way of working things. The pairings are based on compatibility and similar class choices. It also helps when the tests for testing your magical ability take place. These tests usually take place during fourth period, so after lunch. However, not everyone have to go to that period unless they are called to go for a test. The days where you don't go your usually supposed to be a part of a club or doing something extra for school, but it's not mandatory. Do you know what the tests are?"
"Yeah. It's like those tests where they test and see what you do when you get stuck in a room and have to find clues to put together how to get out or learn how to crack a magical curse and stuff."
"Wow, the princess knows something."
"Shut up."
"Have you never been to school before?" He asked.
"I've been homeschooled my whole life."
"That explains everything."
"I don't like the way you are insulting me." I replied, giving him a look as he laughed away.
"Okay, Okay. Stop pouting princess."
"I was not."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night. Now back to what I was saying. The pairs take those tests together usually but sometimes they do it solo. They say they do that because it helps people learn how to teamwork and rely on others when doing something. Everytime you pass a test and based on your results and magical strength, the band transforms on their own to another color. We all start off with yellow and it goes up to black. Anyways, the band basically connects the two. There's a book you'll get when you get the band that'll say what the band does but it's usually it helps you locate the other person and can be used as a light."
"How do you find out who you're paired with?"
"When you go to the table, which is in the room next to the gym. There will be a computer and camera and it scans your face before giving you a band, book, and a slip of paper that says who you're paired with. Also, the band doesn't look like a band, they just call it a band because it's easier to refer to it that way. You put in the computer in what form you want it like a choker, bracelet, and so on."
"Got it." I said, pairing things together at how things work."
"Any more questions princess?" He said, mocking me probably because of the amount of questions, which is not even that much, that I've asked.
"You're so funny. You should try comedy." I said.
"What can I say, I have many skills and humor and being fine is one of them."
"Get over yourself." I said, rolling my eyes as he started flexing his muscles.
"You know you want some of this." He said, pointing at himself.
"In your dreams pretty boy."

"Do you not know where you're going?" Kai asked, as I looked around to locate my friends after the speech and assembly had concluded and the announcement to go get your bands was made.
"Are you following me?" I asked since I walked a considerable distance away from where I was sitting a while ago in search of my parents.
Even with all the magic that I hold, my direction compass sucks.
"I saw you walking the opposite way so I decided to be nice." He said, his hands in his pocket.
"I don't know if I want to freely be seen with you especially after that post floating around."
"Weren't we just sitting together?" He asked, following me as I looked around for people.
If only those two were 10 feet tall.
"I said freely. I didn't freely sit there, I was assigned to." I answered, pulling out my phone to see it had died.
How great is that?
"Come on princess, this way." He said.
For a second I just stood there before realizing how I probably won't find my way because not everyone was going to one place but so many different places.
"Why is everyone going that way?" I asked, wondering why there was only a short line in front of the room we just came to.
"Well, I wasn't clear. This room isn't the only place you go to get your band and stuff. There's multiple because if everyone went to one place, there'd be a line for some days." He said, as we walked closer to the room.
"Wow, I make a deal with you and you aren't even clear. I take back my favor!" I replied, joking with him.
"No take backs!" He exclaimed, as if he said it really loudly, I would listen.
"I was joking. Also, do you know who Elena is?" I asked, remembering how I still have to track her down.
"Yeah, the vampire who posts about everything." He said, as we were one person away from getting our bands.
"If you tell me where I can find her then you can get two favors out of me, no questions asked on why." I said, realizing how I really needed to find her.
"Do I get to ask questions on why you're trying to find her?"
"Nope."
"She's always running around looking for something to post but at the first half of lunch you can find her downloading her stuff in the computer room which is in the 100s building Room 105. The second half she's at the cafeteria."
"It has been nice working with you Kai but I think this is as far as our friendship will go till you come asking me for a favor."
"Princess..." He said, taking his things.
"Now I won't have to listen to you calling me princess either." I replied, letting the thing scan my face after clicking choker.
"I don't know if this is the last you see of me." He said, as I admired and put on the simple yellow choker which was a perfect shade, not too bright or dark. It had a pendant in the middle as well, a silver crystal.
"Look." He said, pointing to the slip of paper.
And there in bold letters it wrote:

"Would you look at that princess. I guess it isn't the end of our friendship." He said, smirking at me.
