Jason manages to fall asleep for the night, after hours of laying awake. He was abruptly woken by bright lights being flashed in front of his face. Jason decided to ignore them and continue sleeping; he has been trying for hours. To his delight and annoyance, the lights went away, only to come back a few seconds later. The occasional humming noise would be heard before more flashing lights. Jason, now highly annoyed, decided to figure out what was causing the glow. He gently rubbed his eyes to adjust to the bright environment before taking a minute to look around his apartment to find the light sources. To his shock, he couldn't see anything around him; it was completely black in all directions. "Am I going insane?" Jason mumbles to himself right before another set of flashing lights appears on his face. This time he got to see what was causing the bright lights, a videogame-like screen with the words "TIME EXPIRED CHARACTER CHOICE RANDOMIZED" written over it. Even more confused than before, he froze. Jason looks a little more at the screen, noticing a button on the top right. The button appeared to be a square with a smiley face positioned in the center of it. Jason clicked it, trying to dismiss the screen and go back to sleep. He could deal with this in the morning since it was probably a dream. The screen disappears, much to Jason's enjoyment. A few moments later, he closes his eyes and begins to go unconscious. He hears "System augmentation initiating" from an almost robotic female voice before finally being pulled into sleep.
After a bit of time, Jason groggily opens his eyes again. This time instead of being greeted by his own room, all he sees is the sky and clouds. Grass and weeds are mangled into his hair. "Did I pass out in someone's yard?" Jason thinks while he sits up, rubbing his head while looking around. There's nothing for a few hundred feet except grass. At the border of the grass, trees are all Jason could see. He appears to be in the center of a clearing in a forest. "How did I manage this?" Jason thought while getting to his feet. Looking around more closely, Jason realizes that a few things aren't normal. First, he noticed two bars labeled HP/MP floating in the right lower corner of his vision. "Ok, so I'm either still dreaming or in a video game?" Frustrated about what is happening, Jason decides to start heading to the woods. "I hope I can find someone or something to explain what's going on, '' Jason thinks as he begins to walk through the woods. As he's walking, Jason doesn't notice the small golden light fluttering around behind him as he strolls through the woods. He's too caught up in his thoughts about this bizarre situation. Eventually, Jason reaches a stream cutting through the forest and he decides to rest. After walking for a bit and it is rather hot out he has been sweating. He heard somewhere, you can die faster by not drinking than by not eating. Jason doesn't wanna even think about this so he gets onto the ground and starts drinking out of the stream. When he is finished, he looks around him for anything to hold the water, to no avail. After a couple of seconds, Jason hears giggling, which startles him getting his attention focused on his surroundings. He sees a mini floating girl with a yellowish-golden aura around her. "How does that stream water taste?" the mini girl says while still giggling. Excited, he finally meets someone else. Jason quickly stands up, he quickly begins realizing the girl is about three inches long. "Um, what are you?" Jason asks, realizing how rude that may have sounded, but the girl continues giggling confused. "Are you saying there's an elven village without pixies?" the girl retorts. Since the guy in front of her was clearly an elf, he should have known about pixies. They are a primary species in this world. "Elven village? Pixies? I'm sorry, but I need a second," says Jason. It's Jason's turn to laugh. At this point, He doesn't know what to believe. The water he had just drank and the heat of this place is definitely real so Jason realized he was not in a video game. He just found out that elves and pixies exist, and he's pretty sure now that the little lady in front of him is actually a pixie. Jason's only choice is to assume that wherever he is now is not anywhere he's previously known.
The pixie, now fully confused as the guy in front of her is uncontrollably laughing, thinks for a second before saying, " You were passed out in that field for hours. What happened to you? Why are you out here?" All Jason could manage to give her was a shrug, as he didn't know much about his situation. "Well, my name is Gracie, and if you haven't guessed yet, I'm a pixie" She does a little flutter around Jason's head as if to prove her point. "And you, sir are an elf," Gracie says while landing on his shoulder. "Just look at your ears if ya don't believe me" Jason reaches up and starts to feel his ears. He didn't think at first, but they were definitely not his normal ears! These ones were longer and semi-enclosed into a point at the top. Internally he begins to freak out. Where has he gone, last he knew he just passed out in his bed. After a minute Jason collects himself and accepts he needs to figure out how to survive. "I'm sorry, Gracie, but could I bother you to show me to the nearest place with people?" Jason said after signing, realizing he wasn't a human. "Sure. Is there any place you would like to go to?" Gracie replies while kicking her legs in the air enjoying relaxing on Jason's shoulder. "No, I have no idea about anything around here," Jason vaguely says. He didn't want to give away he wasn't always an elf yet. While previously in his apartment, Jason loved reading fantasy stories, watching anime, and watching or reading anything about science. Two of the three relate here, and in most cases, the different races usually are at war. Jason preferred to play it safe until he could gain an understanding of his current situation. Gracie pointed in a direction after a second and the two began to walk along the stream for a bit. Well, Jason was the one walking Gracie was riding on his shoulder still.
