Chapter 10 - The Beginning Of A Journey

That night Jason fell asleep happy, his adventure was about to start and all his hard training had been paying off. As he falls asleep he is once again hovering over a sleeping version of himself. Looking around he sees Zachary passed out on the couch before he is whisked away. Jason begins flying through the air again this time headed in the direction opposite of last time. He begins to feel the happiness from last time as well but he doesn't allow himself to be distracted again. Jason didn't want to randomly snap awake because he randomly died again. After a bit of flying Jason is eventually hovering over a beach looking out into a vast ocean. Jason found it was a beautiful sight and was even more shocked to realize that there were three moons. He had been either so caught up in training or inside that he hadn't got a chance to look at the night sky. No desire he had to look either so this is why he is a bit shocked to learn the difference.

The three moons moved across the sky in an almost harmonious dance. Every now and then Jason would see some fish or at least what he would assume was jumping out of the water. Sometimes the size of the fish would be bigger than a whale so Jason was a bit curious as to why they were acting like this. Unable to obtain an answer he just stood in the sky watching. Eventually, he heard the roar from before, knowing he tries to fly or leave the area but has a struggle trying to. Jason is able to figure out how to control his movement as he sees a huge black dragon flying toward him. Scared he begins to fly as fast as he can away from the incoming dragon. Unable to lose the dragon but not allowing it to gain on him Jason starts thinking of a possible escape route. He knows nothing of this area nor why a dragon is chasing him. As he is thinking the dragon releases its dragon breath. It looked like a black electric fog but Jason couldn't see this as it was silence and he was currently focussing on his escape plan. In no time the black electric fog overtakes him, cording his body away into nothingness. As Jason dies he has jolted awake once again, unaware to him the dragon that just slaughtered him a moment ago had also disappeared.

Jason begins regulating his breathing, this time his death wasn't too much of a surprise but still was an unsettling experience. He doesn't feel the pain of death but the experience is still extremely unnerving. Unable to fall back asleep he stays up eventually making his way into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the trio. Needing to do something to take his mind off of the bizarre dream he dives into cooking. An hour passes and the sun begins to rise, Jason just finished making breakfast and made sure to include some honey. He had begun to notice how much Gracie liked it, Jason also noticed how much Zachary likes meat so he made sure to make enough in his breakfast. Not long after he is done the two come googly walking into the kitchen. "I always love it when you cook," Gracie says while yawning. "Why thank you we should sit down and eat, we gotta head out soon" Jason responded, pushing them over to the table as he started setting the food out on it. They all sit down and start eating.

Once down the trio takes a few minutes to make sure they stored enough food and supplies in their inventory. After confirming they were ready the three headed out of the village. Gracie lived near the woods so they were able to go directly through them. The woods have an almost calming or gentle aura causing the three to lower their guard. They spend the rest of the first day just trying to pass through the forest. They weren't attacked in their journey which allowed them to move a bit faster. Once they are out of the forest it's plains for the rest of the way Gracie informed them. Every now and then there would be trees or random rocks scattered. Around five days pass with the trio walking toward through these grasslands to the Eleven city and nothing notable happens. It's about a two to three-day journey until they reach their destination though.

As the three are walking suddenly they are ambushed by goblins. These goblins were about 4 feet tall and were hiding behind randomly anything they could find. About twenty jump out and surround the trio. Gracie flies over and lands on Jason's shoulder "Just relax we can take them easily" She says as she senses him tensing up. "True, let me try something," Jason says relaxing after remembering all the training he did. Suddenly two fireballs appear and are sent to the two goblins standing directly in front of him. Enraged as their two friends started turning to ash the remaining goblins begin to charge. "Ok ya each can handle six now," Jason says before running off into the opening he'd just created. Gracie flies off his shoulder and heads in the opposite direction. Jason could easily kill them using fire but he needed to test his skill's usefulness. He previously had an idea for wind magic and could test it out here. Jason wants to create a ball of wind moving with enough force to either rip apart a target. He figures making an attack smaller will help increase its accuracy so he starts small. Soon two balls of wind appear the size of a fingernail. These might be small but with how fast Jason sped the wind up they became extremely deadly. He created opposing wind forces to create the effect.

After successfully casting the wind spells he launched them at the two closest goblins. Upon contact with the goblin, it causes them to violently explode covering their surrounding friend in their blood blinding them momentarily. Wasting no time he begins his next spell, a water bullet. He makes two balls of water each about 2-3 inches in diameter, Quickly he starts rotating the water causing violent currents to form instead of the balls. Once ready he launches the two water bullets and they directly hit two goblins in the head instantly killing them. Lastly, with a flick of his finger, two spears of earth protrude out of the ground killing the remaining two goblins. Satisfied with how easy that encounter is as he looks over to check up on his friends. Gracie was finishing up chopping off the last goblin head and Zachary was already finished and began working on discarding the bodies. Realizing that they couldn't leave this mess he begins casting fireballs on the dead carcasses to get rid of them. Once all the bodies were gotten rid of they once again began their journey. Zachary collected any loot the goblins may have had before he burnt them. Jason on the other hand was unaware of this so just burnt his body. Gracie ended up stopping him after he set his first two on fire. "If you killed a monster or person you can collect what they had inside their inventory and go over to one and put your hand above it," she tells him. Jason looks confused as he does as instructed. 'Would you like to take 'dead goblins' inventory?' He likes the yes button before his inventory is filled with new items. Repeating this step on the remaining three before burning them Jason is now content with having to fight.

At first, he was worried about fighting because it's dangerous but now he knows he can handle it as long as he keeps his training up. The three continue walking to Eleven cities. They are ambushed one more time by ten goblins but they are easily handled before they arrive in front of the giant gates to the city. Jason is in total shock at the scale of the building. He hasn't even gotten to see the city as its walls are over 100 ft tall. He wonders if the walls were made using earth magic as the three get in line to enter the city. They must pass through the gate and pay the toll before they'll be allowed in.
