Chapter 15 - A Slight Hiccup

Gracie once again was the first one awake, when she got out of her bed she couldn't help but laugh seeing how close Jason and Zachary had gotten throughout the night. Ignoring it she starts getting ready for the dungeon raid, after she's finished she is over with the boys being asleep. "Ok time to get up sleepy heads' ' Gracie says while tugging on the blanket, once she's fully taken the blanket away do the two begin to wake up. "I'm up '' Jason sits up complaining "why did you have to be so mean," He said getting out of bed. "Well I'm ready to go and you two are still sleeping lets get a move on '' Gracie retorts sending a small cold gust of wind over the two to wake them up a bit. Jason utterly snaps awake by the sudden cold, Zachary had a built in defense mechanism against being cold but just decided it was time to get ready. The two guys hop out of bed and start getting ready for their day. After a couple minutes the trio is on their way to the restaurant part of the in order to order food and discuss their actions for the day. Their normal tables are open and are brought their normal random monster by the waiter. Today was some sort of bird monster, it was a wonderful experience for the three. It quickly became the favorite dish they've tried. Unable to identify the monster nor could the waiter, the three settle on eating meat now and going on a quest to find and eat these bird monsters. After getting their fill and having the table cleared off they begin their discussion on the dungeon raid.

Jason pulls out the map for the dungeon they were in yesterday. Apparently they see on the first level that they were one Earth Lizard and Earthworms are the only monster that can spawn. The boss that guards the stairs is a Spirit elemental. The next floor spawns Fire spirits, Wind spirits, and an evolved version of the Earth Lizard. The Boss for that floor is an Elemental Guardian. The third and final floor houses any type of Spirit Elemental, occasionally an Elemental Guardian of any type, or Humanoid Earth Lizard. The boss for that floor is A High Spirit Elemental. This Dungeon was not exactly the easiest around however they soon realized why it was the perfect spot to start. Each floor only has a certain monster spawn and it appeared the boss was a type of monster on the next floor. Using this they can use the boss to assess their strength and whether they are ready to proceed further down. The map also notes a few places where monsters are likely to spawn inside the Dungeon instance. After looking over and getting a good idea about the dungeon the three pick up their things and begin to make their way to the dungeon.

Upon arriving they get into the line to enter the Dungeon. The line is for some reason extremely long today and is taking a bit to go through. Eventually the three see the reason, a party didn't survive their instance. When that happens the dungeon just spits out the bodies of the deceased party. This happening in a crowded city gave the surrounding onlookers a bit of a fright. The Dungeon guard had to wait to let anyone enter the dungeon until the incident could be cleaned up. "Why don't we go look at more gear while we wait?" Zachary asks the two "I don't think that the line is gonna start moving anytime soon so why not" Jason replies as the three step out of their spots in line. Deciding that they should check out the stalls opposite from last time they head down a new street. Jason found a set of light armor, He decided to pick it up due to his lack of armor, handing the shop ten bronze coins they began their expedition again. "Guys look at this!" Zachary excitedly yells, He found a set of metallic armor. After talking with the stall owner he found the suit actually helps to increase the power of Fire magic. Overjoyed Zachary purchases his first piece of equipment, To his shock the armor cost 18 silver coins. They were lucky enough but now are almost out of money, other than their two gold coins. About three hours had passed from the moment they got out of line until now.

"Think that the line should be working again?" Jason asks the other two "I'm hoping I really need to try out my new armor" Zachary replies. "Lets head back there we can still do some fighting on the first level before we call it a night" Gracie suggests. The three began their journey back to the line, once returned they were pleased to see that it was up and moving again. The three get into line as shortly after they are putting their hands on the crystal to enter the dungeon. Upon entering the three equip their newly acquired gears and weapons. "Let's try getting used to these things while fighting first before using too much magic" Jason suggests whilst spinning around his staff. "Sounds like a plan" Gracie replies while letting her five throwing knives float behind her. With Zachary once again leading the charge the three begin their way down the dungeon path. Not long passes before the three are attacked, this time by a mixture of two EarthWorms and four Earth Lizards. The earthworms were about four feet long and had rows of insanely sharp teeth in their mouths, they also were able to move freely in the ground but couldn't attack whilst under the ground. Zachary starts to deal with the Lizards wrapping himself into his fire aura.

His fire grew brighter and stronger as it started passing over him and reached over his armor. "This is neat '' He said before pointing his hand at the lizard and releasing four fireballs. Only one of the lizards was able to dodge but due to his power up it was no match for Zachary quickly dropping dead. Jason and Gracie each decided to take on one of the Earth worms. Jason honestly was having fun, he felt his weight shift and the staff became easier to use. Experimenting with his blows Jason is able to bring down the Earthworm and also learn how to semi fight using the staff. Gracie had the easiest time fighting, She used her five knives at once to cut the worm into five different sections. Upon doing so she is disgusted to see the head of the Earth worm still moving. She quickly flies her knives into its skull ensuring that it's dead. Proud of themselves they continue deeper into the dungeon. Their fight goes smoothly, only once does Zachary get overwhelmed with Earth lizards that he needed Jason's assistance. Jason and Gracie just dealt with the Earthworms as they were a bit slower and perfect training dummies.
