Morticia sat in her knitting chair knitting a knew sweater for Cousin Drip. She looped the string carefully through her fingers and making sure she carefully moved her hands and needles the right way. Up down back and forth side to side. Finally, she finished her project. She beamed as she held up the project for her husband to see.
"Gomez, darling!" Morticia called to her husband who was on the floor practicing Zan Yogi's latest position. As he did his yoga he smoked his cigar and as he smoked the scent of tobacco faintly filled the living room. Morticia liked the smell of Gomez's cigar. It was so him.
"Yes, Querida?" Gomez asked removing his cigar from his lips.
"How do you think Cousin Drip will like his new sweater?" Morticia asked.
"I think he'll love it, but isn't that too big?" Gomez asked. "After all, his three necks aren't that skinny."
"Oh!" Morticia said solemnly. "I was sure I'd gotten the size right this time."
"Oh, Tish, you know he'll love it anyway." Gomez said. "Because it came from the most wonderful person in the world."
Morticia extended her hand for Gomez to take, which Gomez happily accepted. He kissed her hand, then each of her fingers, then moved up her knuckles to her shoulder. Morticia sighed contently as Gomez kissed her neck as no one else was around, so he don't have to wait until later this time. She wrapped her arms around him as he continued to kiss her neck and moved on to her hair. As Gomez kissed his beloved wife thunder clapped, lightening lit up the windows of the old house. This gave Gomez and Morticia such pleasure, they loved thunderstorms and a nice rainy day.
"Gomez, it is rather late, do you supposed it's time for bed?" Morticia asked.
"Yes, Querida." Gomez answered getting himself out of his Zan Yogi position. "To bed."
Gomez scooped his wife up and carried her up the stairs, through the hallway and into their room. He gently placed his beautiful wife on their bed.
"Isn't it a lovely evening Tish?" Gomez asked.
"Yes, it's the loveliest evening we've had all summer." Morticia smiled.
Gomez walked into their attached bathroom and changed into his nightshirt, brushed his hair and teeth. After Gomez was done in the bathroom Morticia walked in and put her nightgown on and brushed her teeth. She saved her hair for Gomez. She knew he liked to brush her thick black hair.
"I'm ready darling." Morticia said sitting at her vanity, reaching for her hair brush and handing it to Gomez.
Gomez began to brush Morticia's jet black hair. He loved her hair. It was thick, shiny, not too smooth and too rough. But just right for him to play with.
"Tish, you have the most beautiful hair." Gomez said.
"Thank you, Bubbelah." Morticia said, knowing full well what that name would do to Gomez.
"Tish!" Gomez exclaimed kissing her arm. "That name! You know what it does to me!"
Just this once Morticia wouldn't stop him from kissing her since no one else was around. This room was their sanctuary. The one place where they could go and make every moment about them. They did love their family, but they wanted to be alone together as much as possible because they loved each other and as a married couple they wanted to spend time with another, and just relax. Gomez continued to brush Morticia's hair as she yawned.
"Tish, are you tired?" Gomez asked.
"Yes, after all I did try to get that alligator off mama. The old thing is so strong she would've killed the poor creature!" Morticia exclaimed.
"Well, Mama is a rough one." Gomez said.
"Yes, do you remember the time she wrestled the alligator with one hand tied behind her back?" Morticia asked.
"That was a close call for mama." Gomez said. "The alligator almost beat her."

Thunder woke Gomez from his peaceful slumber. Not because he was scared of thunder or lightening but because he liked to watch it. He liked to watch the lightening litigation up the room sending shivers down his spine which gave him pleasure. And Addam's love to get good shivers down their spine. Gomez looked over at his wife. The lightening accentuated her pale skin. Every time it flashed it would make her pale skin even paler than what it was. In Gomez's mind, that made her more beautiful than ever. He stroked her thick black hair cussing Morticia to stir in her sleep and drape an arm around Gomez. Gomez held his wife close to him and kissed her forehead.
"Goodnight Cara Mia." Gomez whispered softly.

Morticia woke to the crash of thunder and lightening flashing. Morticia was pleased to see this. Just from the thunder she already knew today was going to be a wonderful day. It's not just because she loves thunder and lightening, but because her best of days have always been on days like this. It was thundering and lightening on her and Gomez wedding day, and of course they had their wedding outside by the swamp anyway. Thunder and lightening never stopped and Addams.
Morticia remembered their wedding day as if it were yesterday. She remembered the exact tuxedo Gomez wore, she remembered her black wedding dress with a hemlock crown atop her head and thorns for her bridal bouquet. She had to walk across the swampy bog to get to Gomez. When the priest said "you may kiss your bride" she remembered how Gomez wrapped her arms around her and how she felt like she was flying on her own witch's broom. Gomez was the only person who could ever make her feel as happy as she is. He had given her two beautiful children, she has met a wonderful mother in law, her wonderful uncle fester lives with them, and she's quite fond of their butler Lurch. In fact to her Lurch is like one of the family. Most importantly she loves her wonderful husband dead or alive. She knows one day, their lifeless bodies will rot together for all eternity. When that happens, even in death they will still be together, because true love never dies.
Mama told her that one evening when they were cooking for a Halloween party. Morticia was making the punch while mama was cooking up a batch a big cookies. They remembered how they served those cookies to the school principal, Mr. Hilliard once.
"Oh I remember that Mr. Hilliard!" Mama said. "He was always jump and nervous but there was nothing to be nervous about!" Mama exclaimed while putting the cookies in the oven.
"Perhaps the poor dear was just shy." Morticia said.
"But why would he be shy towards us? We're the most welcoming people we know!" Mama said.
"I know." Morticia smiled, pouring food coloring into the punch bowl. "But you cant please everybody."
"I know dear." Mama said. "Where's that song of mine is he going to help you with this punch?"
"Gomez is out buying some last minute Halloween decorations." Morticia said. "How odd, we usually have everything ready long before Halloween."
"Not this year. We've been so busy, time has gotten away and those decorations were so old!" Mama said.
"Mama, I've told you, old decorations are the best! It makes the house look gloomier." Morticia said. "And spookier to."
"You're right morticia. I should take your advice from now on." Mama said checking on the cookies in the oven.
"I need Gomez here soon, the punch is almost ready." Morticia said.
"Speaking of Gomez, you've been married thirteen years! Can you believe it!" Mama said.
"I know! Isn't it wonderful?!" Morticia asked as she stirred the punch. "Thirteen is the luckiest number their is!"
"Since you've been married thirteen years, I want to tell you something my mama told me." Mama said approaching Morticia. "My mama said to me, when you love someone, your love will never die, because you just keep loving them forever. If your deeply I love, you can't just stop loving your loved one all do a sudden. If your love is strong even I death you wont be torn apart. You will be together forever. Is Addams' believe you still love your spouse even in death. In other words, true love never dies."
"Your mother was the wise one wasn't she?" Morticia said.
"Indeed she was! Who do you think taught me how to read the crystal ball on the chandelier!" Mama exclaimed.
"Like mother like daughter." Morticia smirked.
~
Morticia was snapped out of her memory by Gomez's voice calling her for breakfast.
"I'm coming darling!" Morticia called. Morticia rushed into the bathroom and got herself dressed in her usual black dress and tights and brushed her hair. She fixed her makeup and put on her shoes. She walked downstairs to be greeted by her husband. He held out his hand for her to take and he led her to the breakfast table.
