Chapter 1 - Sarah Zlo

"Ok. The target is intercepted. Just one more step and..."

A bang and dead body on the pavement. Nobody was around. The closest living thing was Sarah who was 500 meters away from the crime scene.

"*Sigh* Just another person whose life was taken away by me. Who even cares. He would have died anyway..."

On the top of an old, almost fallen apart building was her - Sarah Zlo - the only serial killer, who never hesitates when it comes to pulling the trigger. Her name was well known and there was almost no day that she hadn't had to kill. Of course the wage was high as well, there was no way she would waste any time in doing low paid work.

She packed up her things and walked towards the street as her phone rang.

- Hello...

- Is it done? - Asked the voice on the phone

- So you doubt me.

- I'm gonna take this as yes.

- Take it however you want. The body is laying on the ground.

- Is he really dead?

- No, he is just pretending to have a lethal wound. Of course he is dead!

- Finely this wretch got what he deserved!

- Yea... You can celebrate later when I get my money.

- But indeed. You did well. I'm transferring the whole amount to your bank account right away!

- I hope so. You can probably guess what will happen otherwise... I really hate wasting my time.

- You will get the money. - Said the voice and it could be easily heard that he breathed heavily, even though he tried to hide it.

- Good choice. I'm hanging up.

The call ended and Sarah continued her way. She felt spaced out. Her thoughts had taken over her. It wasn't because she felt guilty or anything, that was just impossible, it was just her curiosity of why do people want others to die. She knew why she does it, why she murders, it was just her job and there was nothing wrong in doing it.

At least that was how she felt about being a serial killer, but it couldn't be otherwise. She was raised with such thinking. Her father was a killer himself and her mother was hacking the government nonstop so her husband didn't go behind the bars or in order to get some kind of top secret information and sell it to the mafia.

That was simply how she lived...

Sarah's world had always been going against the law, well at least the country law, but she had different regulations, those her father gave her. All the things that he taught her, she was putting into practice. She had no hesitation that her parents were in their rights, they were just part of the people who had to survive even though their way was a little bit different from others'.

That was the reason why throughout her whole childhood and even now she had to hide and when being found- run.

A normal person would have probably given up once they had the opportunity, but not her. She actually quite enjoyed it, the whole murdering deal was like a hobby to her, probably a strange one, but still a hobby. When she became ten her interest towards dead bodies started to grow bigger, which made her father so proud. Her mother as well but she wanted to teach her daughter how to hack basically everything that can be hacked and one thing followed another and it all ended with the young Ms. Zlo being one of the most heartless people on planet Earth, ready to kill whenever.

Taken away by those kind of thoughts Sarah barely realized when she was in front of her home or better said her haunt. It was a small apartment in one of the cheapest neighborhoods in the city, not that she couldn't afford anything pricier she just didn't want to bother. If she lived in a better place it would have been more suspicious. She would have had to hide and find somewhere to work which would have been a waste of time and money. Not only that, but since she had to change places quite often there was no point in having a luxurious apartment, because she never dwelled in one residence twice.

Without a doubt where she lived now wasn't the best place for an young, 17 years old girl to inhabit, due to the high crime rate, but she managed just fine. Apart from that she had made the residents of the area afraid to even look her in the eyes.

So she was some kind of an exception...
