Chapter 2 - The Stranger

Sarah opened the door and entered, throwing her shoes off.

She took a few steps ahead and tossed herself on the couch. It didn't take long until she was deeply asleep.

In her dream she saw her grandmother for whom she had a great respect, but no longer part of the living world.

It wasn't something unusual for her to dream about people who have passed away, but this time it felt more real than before.

- The time has come. - Her grandmother said.

- Time? For what?

- Time that will turn your world upside down.

- What do you mean?

- You will see... Nothing will ever be the same again...

- Please grandma! Tell me. What will happen?

- You will meet...

Suddenly the doorbell rang and interrupted her peace.

Sarah roared and got herself up.

"Seriously! If it's once again the landlord I'm gonna... Who the f**k is that?!"

An young man was standing in front of the door waiting for it to be opened.

- I'm not buying anything. Go away! - Said she loudly through the closed gateway.

- Good, cause I don't have anything to sell. - Answered the man while putting a small smirk on his face.

- Who are you?

- You don't have to know that. Im Just gonna say that I need your services.

- What kind of services?

- You know exactly what kind.

Sarah opened the door.

- Get in and we will talk.

The man entered and cosily sat himself down on the sofa. It was a bit strange how comfortable he acted keeping in mind it was his first time seeing Sarah and how calm he seemed even though he was face to face with the most dangerous serial killer of whom even some members of the mafia were scared.

- So why did you come here? - She asked straight.

- Your name is well known for only one thing. So why would I come?

- Don't loose my time with weasels!

- Fine. I have job that needs to be done and you seem to be the exact person to do it.

- What kind of job are we talking about?

- Fatal.

- So you want me to kill someone.

- Precisely.

- You know this kind of relish requires a high payout, right?

- Money are not a problem.

- You should probably think some more about it. My wage is the highest in the city.

- That's why I think you are the perfect candidate for doing it. People must be happy with the results, since they keep hiring you. And as I already said, money are not a problem.

- I guess you've done your homework. Okay then. Give me information about the person and we will see what will happen.

The man handed her a big envelope and she opened it.

- So you want him dead.

- Indeed. You are not a stupid girl, I can't get it why you keep asking the same stupid question over and over again.

- Fine. You'll get a call once it's done.

- The sooner, the better.

- Don't rush me. I have my own way of dealing with things.

- Okay. I'm gonna have to trust you here, but don't you dare fail me!

- Since money are involved, I won't.

- Believe me, if you don't do what you are supposed to, I'm gonna become your biggest fear. Don't let yourself think that you are invincible!

- Are you done? Fine. Now leave.

He got up and slowly headed towards the door. Just before opening it he turned.

- Remember my word.

As if this would change anything. Sarah was neither scared of his words, neither willing to consider them. For her he was just trying to make sure she will kill the person whose information was in the envelope laying on the coffee table.

After saying that the guest left and loudly shut the door.

Once being left alone Sarah started going through the documents given to her. One page after another were turned, but there was nothing suspicious nor anything that might be used as a motive for him to be wanted dead.

This whole situation seemed a bit suspicious, but work is work and it couldn't be left undone. The person has to be murdered and there was no reason for her not doing it. He wasn't someone she knew so why not finish the case as soon as possible.

But what should the method of killing be?

Since he seemed pretty normal, a gun shot would be too much.

He shouldn't see her face (her father had told her that if the victim sees the face of their murderer their spirit will follow them till the end of the killer's life) so choking was not a deal, neither was a knife stab.

As it seemed the best option was dealing with it the old school way - by using poison.

There was just one tiny problem. She couldn't get her hands on a deadly potion without being suspicious...

Would a mouse one work? For sure.

So it was decided.

She was going to use mouse poison to kill a person.
