The first person who was called was Gim Areum. She was a well known celebrity and halted her singing career just to attend this academy. She did not know how long she would be staying here. She felt so nervous for the first time, it's as if her legs were stabbed multiple times. It took her about ten seconds to stand up. She fixed herself up. She wanted to leave a good impression since she was the first. Her clothes were all branded and yet everything she used were expensive.
Areum followed her gut instincts on to where she was supposed to go. She only remembered Mr. Suho saying she was to be in a room and meet someone there. Was she going to be left alone or was there other students who has the same power as her. Right before she placed her right hand on the door knob. She suddenly felt this agonizing pain in her head.
'What was that all about?'
She thought about all of the horrible things she went through. It has been more than two years since she had any flashbacks about the past. She never wanted to recall the life she went through as a child. She tried to shake off the thoughts that were wandering in her mind. She closed her eyes for a bit and then opened them again. It reminded her when she first debuted as a singer and performed her song on stage. Her first song wasn't as successful but made it to the top 100 at the end of the month's released.
Areum pushed the door open and there stood a man. His back posture was firm and gave off a cool vibe. She studied him. Right when she was going to take a step further to him. The room suddenly changed its environment. There was a reflection across from her. That figure caught her attention and when she turned her attention back to the man who was supposed to be there.
Bam.
He was gone.
She did not even notice his disappearance, other than a shadow coming closer to her. She heard the voice saying 'Why'd you leave me behind, why?'
This voice was the 16 year old Areum. The fat and hideous girl who was bullied and called ugly. She hated the fact that she had to see herself looking like that. Where did her beautiful self go? The two years worth of changing herself. The surgery that she used her own to hands to pay for. The pretty nose and double eyelid she was praised for when she went on variety shows.
'No... no... this can't be...'
How could this place even see her old self. This was impossible. Now that her past appeared, how was she going to move on.
'Where did that man go? He should still be here.'
Aruem's breathing quickened, as if she was done rehearsing for her upcoming performance. The environment in the room changed again. Now this time, she was on a plain land with rice planted, growing up to her waist. She can feel a heavy force coming from far away. The rice field started to move from afar as she waited for the closer the force came upon her. She started to back away from where she stood. This was not what she thought the first day of her life in this academy to be like. Were they not supposed to help her to understand why she had her power. She somehow felt scared. The wind blew heavy towards causing her long cardigan to fly from the opposite direction.
She blocked the wind with her right forearm from distracting her vision. She began to feel irritated. It finally came to her thoughts. Of course she could control wind. Why did she not think about this. She sighed in disbelief. How can she be so dumb to forget about it. She put her hand down and tried to concentrate, but no. It was useless. She kept getting distracted by the wind. Was it someone from the other side who was also a wind user?
This was harder than she thought. The last time she used her powers was when she was alone. She was clumsy. She accidentally knocked water on her precious carpet that she just bought. She couldn't use the hair dryer better yet the dryer. It would of messed up the texture and the fur. She sat near the back door and hung her carpet on the laundry stand. She focused her hearing
to the wind. This was the only time she could call the wind to her power. Of course she couldn't just randomly, flicker hand and the wind would be gushing in. She raised her hand in the air and the wind was slow and yet not strong. She moved her hand and the wind came to her direction. She laid her finger next to the carpet and kept it going to a circular motion.
It worked. Worked for a bit and then she couldn't control the wind. The made the wind blow her carpet off the laundry stand.
"No!" She screamed.
There goes the carpet she ordered from abroad.
...
Areum thought to herself. Why doesn't she try calling to the wind like how she did last time. She wasn't too sure if she could do that. The wind was coming on too strong, but if she can't even control it a little bit she would have been blown away at any second.
She waved her hand in the air and forced the magic inside of her out. There she controlled it a little bit. She was happy but then again the wind became even stronger. She couldn't hold on to it any longer.
Right when she thought about wanting to try it again. The wind suddenly slowed down. Looked around and the environment changed back to how it was the first time.
The man appeared right before her. She fixed her hair. He was handsome and tall as well. His face was perfect. The way his black hair was split and combed back was appalling. His eyes had a little green him. His skin was white as pure milk.
"Gim Areum."
She heard him say her name.
"Yes." She answered.
His raspy voice was captivating to her.
"Pass."
That was the only word she heard him say. Was that all? Couldn't he say anything else?
"What does that mean?"
Sehun looked at her. His gaze was cold. This feeling was ' are you an idiot or what?' type of feeling. She felt a little scared but yet in the moment. She never really looked at anyone in the eyes. He was the first person she looked at for a long time.
"You're now my disciple."
He said and was about to exit the room when she called out to him.
"What's your name?" She asked him.
When he heard her ask for his name. He just said, "Sehun."
Didn't say his last name nor speak about himself to her. It was short.
"Um... did you happen to see my past...?"
She wasn't quite sure if he saw what she saw. The most important thing was, she in no way wanted him to see her like that. Even everyone around her in the past called her ugly and never liked her. She had to go through so much.
When Sehun heard the question, what more can he say to her. That was her own life. She acted as if everyone had a better life than her. Everyone comes in what they have. They should only change for themselves and not for the better of other people. It was two different things. If she changed for herself that was the best, but if she changed herself because of people dissing her, then that was wrong. Look around her, there wasn't a real person next to her to be by her side. She pushed away the people who loved her. This was something Sehun been through but who can care less about what other people think.
"Yes." He said.
She felt so embarrassed when that was his response. She felt has her soul has flown away.
"Lead a different life that suits you."
These were the last words he said to her. Finally it wasn't just one or two words. She watched him as he left the room. She didn't know what would happen next. Was she and him going to see each other from here on. She wanted to know more about him.
