Dohee braced herself before opening the door. She was nervous to step foot into the room. This morning while she was on her way here, she thought a lot about making new friends at the new academy. Back at home she used to be a big sports person. She would almost play every sports during the school year. She stopped playing sports due to her powers. She recalled having to not use so much strength when she would serve the ball or kick the ball. Every time she would use her hands or feet she had to bear in mind of how much strength she used.
Dohee took a deep breath. She inhaled and exhaled for three rounds. Her appearance on the outside my look weak but she was strong. She'd looked very nerdy with her two low braided pigtails. She also wore glasses as well. She put her hand on the door knob and gently opened the door. The first thing she saw was a boy standing. His back facing her. One hand behind his back. When she opened the door, he'd turned around and smiled at her. His smile was elegant and very warm.
"Hello, there. My name is Kyungsoo. You must be my counter part named Dohee?" He said and turned around.
Dohee smiled back at him. He had an angelic aura around him making her feel so welcomed.
"Yes. My name is Dohee. Nice to meet you too, Kyungsoo." She bowed in 90 degrees.
"Let me explain to you about what you're supposed to do."
He walked in front of the Mirror of Reflection. Kyungsoo noticed that the Mirror of Reflection had been damaged. From his knowledge the physical mirror was not present in every room. Suho and Yifan made a spiritual one only. The ruler of Exoplanet would not grant such a risk for the half exonians to use them personally.
"This mirror will show your fear. All you have to do is be able to surpass this trial." He said.
Dohee understood but didn't really know what type of fear it was going to show.
"I'll be watching from behind."
He let her know and he changed the room's appearance.
Just when he changed the room environment, Dohee was taken aback. This was herself, during her high school days. After her incident playing soccer, she let go of her sports. She ended up taking dance lesson to become a dancer. After she got off from her part-time job at the restaurant, she'd go pick up her brother from school but then she headed straight to her dance academy.
They were the only children. She had the responsibility to look after her younger brother, because their parents are busy working overtime. During this night, she felt as if she needed to go pick up her brother from his late night program. She called in for her dance academy and went to pick him up.
While she was on her way to pick him up she felt the ground move, it seemed as if if was an earthquake. The waves were picking up on her radar somehow. She ran to where her brother's night academy was. When she arrived at the scene, the building had collapse. The firefighters were working their way inside and trying to get everyone out as soon as possible. She wanted to go in but they were not letting her through at all. She looked at all the people who came out, there was only one person who wasn't present. It was her younger brother.
When she noticed this familiar view, she knew that the mirror of reflection had already found out what her fear was. She had the guilt in her from the past that if she had not come to her brother earlier than he would have survived without any mishaps. All of these years she blamed herself for her brother being disabled.
Her first instinct was to go to the back of the school. When she reached the back of the building. She found her brother's favorite headphones. The side of the headphones were already cracked. She searched for her brother but most of the debris were covering her way to get in. She forced her hands to remove the ones that were closest to her. She removed them with her bare hands forgetting the pain of her skin rubbing against the wood. Her hands started to bleed.
The more she moved the debris the more it seemed there were more coming. It is as if she were in a dream and no matter how many times she removed them they all came back. She began to feel frustrated and tears came down her eyes.
Kyungsoo whispered, "Don't forget that you are special."
When she heard his words, she remembered. "That's right,"
She had powers she could use. She gather her strength and started to remove every debris that was in her way. This was no problem for her but only if she had done this long ago. If she had that reminder then she wouldn't have blamed herself for everything. She came across a big debris that was onto of her brother's backpack. She used her energy and lifted up the big board. There she found her brother laying there unconscious. Tears came down from her eyes to her cheeks. She was so happy that she was able to find him at last. Right when he opened his eyes, his body had faded and perished into sparkles. She didn't understand why it was happening until the room suddenly changed back to it's original state.
She turned to look at Khyungsoo. He smiled at her.
"You've finally let go of the guilt you held on, your fear was not being able to use your powers at the right time." He hinted.
All this time ever since the soccer incident and the earthquake situation she wasn't able to control or use her powers. She was happy but yet still sadden.
Kyungsoo walked over and patted her shoulder.
"Everything is going to be okay! Don't sweat it. You passed and from now on I'll be in charge of your everyday training."
When she heard those words from him, she was delighted. She passed and yet acquired a kind and caring teacher.
After Kyungsoo instructed her next task he left the room.
