Chapter 4 - The Unknown Room [Part 3]

Jongdae was in the room he wast instructed to be at. He gazed around the room. There was nothing in the room but a chair for him to sit. He didn't agree with Yifan and Suho about getting a partner. He hates working together, better yet he dislikes a burden. He will have to waste most of his time training and teaching. He either didn't care if the other counter part made it in or not. Less work for him to do. He'd rather go back to Exoplanet.

Right when he sat in the chair the door opened. He could feel his counterpart walking in. His first impression of her was nothing. She looked like an ordinary person. No amusing story for him just yet. He gave her an icy glare and then looked somewhere else. She too didn't budge. She didn't look at him nor ask any questions.

In a couple of seconds Jongdae changed the scene. He fiddled with the Mirror of Reflection, with his magic. There the room was raining. He distance himself from Ina as he picked his nails as if he wasn't interested in her story at all. Ina felt the rain on her. The feeling she felt was horrible. Just like how water and oil couldn't mix together well. This reminded her of an incident. Something she wished she hadn't recall.

The Mirror of Reflection flashed light in her eyes. She closed them hard. She squat down and covered her ears. She wasn't aware of how heavy the rain was and there stood her mother. She felt a light tap on her head. She looked up and saw the figure of her mother. She was drenched in the rain and smiled. Ina's gaze was like a toddler who missed her mother all of her life. She wanted to go into her embrace but at the same time she recalled her mother dead.

During that night when her mother passed away, she was there to witness it. Her mother and her was coming home from buying ingredients to make cake on father's birthday. They lived right by and her mother decided to walk instead of taking a car. Her mother didn't' think it would rain so she didn't bring an umbrella. She thought of it the rain being nothing. They would probably not get too wet. When her mother finished buying gifts for the birthday celebration, she stared outside the window. Cloud began to form and it started to pour rain heavily.

Her mother bought an umbrella and hurried to the cross walk. She held tightly on to Ina. As a child Ina never really liked the rain. It gave her a weird feeling all the time. She felt that she and the rain were enemies. Just like if they went to war on the battlefield, the rain would be taunting her to release her inner self. Since she was a child, she didn't know how to control her emotions. When the cross walk light switched to green, Ina stood still and dared not move her foot. Her mother was confused and tugged her to move, but she didn't even budge. Her feet seemed to be glued on to the pavement of the ground not moving an inch.

Her mother yanked her hand and finally she moved a few steps. As her mother dragged her to cross the street, she acted like a child who was unwillingly wanted to move. She let her leg be dragged making it harder for her mother to hold the umbrella and the bags. When Ina's little fingers touched the water on the ground, she felt a tingle. What was this feeling? It was electricity. She was so frightened and refused to walk any further.

"Ina, father is waiting. It's time for us to go." Her mother plead.

Ina looked up at her mother who was soaked. She probably didn't even need to buy the umbrella after all. In her eyes, she knew that something bad was going to happen. They had only 10 more seconds to finish crossing until the meter turned red. Ina took the courage to walk with her mother, but then she tripped. Her knees went first then her hands. She was positioned just like an animal on all four legs. Right when her hands touched the water, her mother grabbed her as well. In this instant, lightening touched the water and shocked her mother who held her in her embrace.

Ina unknowingly, turned around to see her mother fall to the ground. Her hand began to spark like thunder. Everywhere in that town she stuck lightning. What kind of being was she to have so much power. Little Ina cried as she wanted to shake her mother to wake up. It passed more than ten minutes and she never opened her eyes.

Ina hated it when she had to recall how her mother died in her own hands. She became furious and was riled up with so much emotions. After her mother died, she closed the world around her. She refused to get into contact with anyone. Her father made sure she was secure and safe when it was the raining seasons. Her father knew that he had to do something about her, he'd had to teach her how to use her powers. Every time he brought up the word 'power', in Ina's dictionary it only meant death.

She blocked her vision with hands not wanting to see anything. She didn't want to kill anyone.

"Stop.... Stop..." She begged. She wanted someone to come save her.

The Mirror of Reflection began to crack bigger and bigger every-time she said that. Jongdae studied her. She indeed doesn't know how to control her powers, that why it resulted in her mother's death. If she had destroyed the Mirror of Reflection, he'd be the one to explain everything to Yifan and Suho. He had no means to say anything and back her up. It was her own doing but he had to abide to the instructions.

"Yes, you killed your mother." He faintly said.

When Ina heard those words, her eyes looked at Jongdae. She have him an instant death glare. It wasn't her fault was it or was it her fault? She shook her head. This had been too much for her.

"With such powers you're gonna use it to kill everyone. Learn how to use it. How dreadful." He said back to her.

He walked up to her and cupped her chin. Her eyes was full of terror. Jongdae didn't care for how she felt. He only wanted this stupid trial to be over with. If she ended up kicked out it will be due to her own fault. As she looked up to him, his eyes feared nothing. He'd probably didn't care if she was there or not. She'd rather go back to her own world. The dark and lonely place she's been all of her life.

Jongdae was fed up, why was she so weak when she was gifted with such strong powers. This had to be some kind of mistakes. Why did he get someone who is lowly of herself. Boring. Jongdae summoned his lightning into his palms. He placed his hand on her cheek. Although lightening is a instant death summon, a pro like Jongdae could control it.

"This is something you have to take into consideration. Just because you killed her with your powers accidentally, it don't mean a single thing. You were a damn child, someone who knew nothing of your powers. Are you going to be one even up to now?" He said with an annoyed voice.

When the lightning touched her face, it was cold but light. It wasn't a killing death aura that she felt. Compared to her powers hers wasn't as great. Maybe he was right, she was a kid. Her father didn't blame her but only blamed himself for not taking care of matters as soon as he could. Ina closed her eyes, with all of the burden she carried with her and those words he said made sense. Although it was an accident, she knew she had to take care of her own problems instead of running away from it.

With all of her might, she released a lightning energy destroying the Mirror of Reflection in that room. Jongdae dodged just in time before the energy reached him. Even though she wasn't as strong as him, he didn't want a single injury from it. The scene changed and when back to how it was. She looked around the room and Jongdae was right behind her.

"Not what I expected, you'll need to replace that Mirror of Reflection." He said and turned around to exit the room.

Before he really left the room he turned back.

"You'd better learn how to control yourself from now on."

With these words ringing in her ears. Did this mean she will see him from now on? She was feeling okay, better than how she felt ever since she stepped out from her own world. How was she going to replace that Mirror of Reflection. What was it and was she going to get into trouble?
