Chapter 1 - The Devastating Development

It was an uneventful day, something that had never happened before ever since...in a long time. I was expecting Penny to come into the living room and say that the paparazzi found where we live and wanted to take pictures of us or that another villain was trying to kill us or something but no. Nothing of the sort happened. Me and Xander were watching TV like a normal teenager would have done. Is this what heroes did on their days off when they were not fighting some evil god or something? I had no idea anymore. It was just a few teenagers watching TV, well, most of us were. Ever since the egg cracked open, Dez has been focused on being a dragon dad which is reasonable I guess. Still, he's one of my best buds and it's like we haven't played a game as a group before. Meanwhile, Cyrus was working on giving Jr an update I think while Penny, Sophia, and London were out giving Eight a tour of the city. He's been having a difficult time adjusting to our world since it's pretty different from Shiver Town. It seems that everyone has something to do now...except me. I've had responsibilities before I received my letter to Stellarlune sure but I never...I didn't think it could be like this. Even though we all live together, I'm still feeling...alone. Maybe It was always supposed to be like this. Even back home, I was somewhat alone. I could never escape it. "Uh Austin, I need your help here for a moment." Cyrus asked me as I got off the couch and headed over to him. "What's the matter Cy man?" I asked in a happy voice. "I need to reinstall Jr's joke setting due to his new update. Could you say some of your jokes so it can be reinstalled?" Cyrus asked me. "Uh...sure." I said as I flipped through the joke book that I call "my brain" and found some good jokes of mine. "Why are moon rocks tastier than regular rocks? Because there a little meteor." I said. "It's working, just a few more jokes to reinstall this setting!" Cyrus said. "What do you need to know when you're training a dog? More than the dog." I said. "One more joke should do the job!" Cyrus said. "What does a baby computer call his father? Data." Just then, Jr's face lit up as a message appeared on his face. "Joke setting reinstalled." Nice one Austin. Those dad jokes are really useful for this only setting!" Cyrus said. Just then, I felt....off. Was I only useful for jokes? Was I the comic relief here? I know I'm a jokester but was it my only good thing? I was good at magic spells but not as good as everyone else. I was good at fighting but so was everyone else, even Eight. Was I just obsolete? "Yeah...It sure is useful." I said in a quiet voice as I was about to head back to the couch. "You ok bud?" Cyrus asked me. "I don't know. I'm just gonna head upstairs." I responded. "We're best buds, you know you can tell me anything right?" Cyrus said. I was about to respond, saying something like yeah or right when the whole house shook very violently. It was like a huge earthquake was happening but the shaking was getting closer and closer with each second. "What's happening?" Xander asked in a panicked voice. Just then, Penny appears along with Sophia, London, and Eight with panicked faces. "We gotta go! A robot mech is attacking Stellarlune!" Penny exclaimed. Within a few moments with absolutely no time to lose, all of us got our gear. Us wizards grabbed our wands, Xander, Sophia, and Eight each took a few blasters, and within a few minutes, we were outside where the myth was true. A giant mech was trying to break through one of the Stellarlune towers which was glowing bright blue for some reason. "According to my devices, a crystal prism known as the Universal Transmitter was being stored in this tower temporarily until they could find a way to destroy it. Its exact properties are unknown but it's known for making creatures disappear when it becomes in direct contact with it." Cyrus read from one of his gadgets. "So It's best to avoid this prism as best we can?" EIght asked. "At all costs." Cyrus said. "Well, we have a mech to dismantle!" Penny said as all of us charged at the school. The mech noticed us coming and so, it fired a whole lot of lasers at us. Penny along with the girls distracted this beast while we guys were going to transport this prism out of the school and away from the beast. It took a little while but all of us guys found our way into the tower. "Now we need to be careful...not only do we not know what this thing can do but we can't touch this prism remember?" Cyrus directed. "Well, then how are we supposed to move it out of here?" Dez asked. "Would wearing gloves help?" Xander asked. "I don't think so." Cyrus responded very quickly. "How about my handley arms?" EIght asked as he withdrew his metal arms from his back. "That should work!" Cyrus said as Eight was able to wrap his metal arms around the prism as tight as he could. However, right when we were about to leave the tower, The walls and roof were smashed as the mech noticed us leaving with the prism. "NO!" The mech said as we tried to leave but I was too slow and the mech got a hold of me. "Let me go!" I yelled but the mech didn't listen. "WANT...PRISM!" The mech yelled in a very robotic voice. "Well...if you want it...assemble it!" I said as I fired my wand at the prism. "Let go, let go, destroy it, GO!" I yelled as I fired a destroy spell. "AUSTIN, NO!" I heard Cyrus scream a second too late. I fired the spell at the prism.....and everything went black.
