Chapter 12 - The Brutal Betrayal

Until this very moment in my life, I have never been betrayed before. Maybe that was because I've had really good friends. Maybe that was because I'd never had many friends before I received that amazing, spectacular, and life-changing letter. Whatever it was...I wish it happened sooner. That's not something I would normally say as you might expect. If anything, I would say that I wished it would happen later but this time...I wanted to experience it before so I would know how to handle it. How does one comprehend when they get betrayed before? I've seen it before in movies when the main character wants option A but someone else wants option B and someone else betrays the main character. I've seen it before...but it never prepared me for when it would happen to me. I always expect to feel sad in moments like this...I was half right. Even though she wasn't my London, the London that Dez liked and wanted to confess his feelings for, the London that I knew wouldn't do anything like this, I still couldn't help but feel sadness inside myself. I still wanted to help...but even I knew now that things were already in motion. I didn't know if there was anything I could do to stop them, but you already know that I was sure I was going to try to stop them. Now snapping back to reality, I regained a very tight grip on the crystal piece that I was holding and leaped away from London like I was leaping over a very fast and long hurdle, metaphorically I already was leaping over hurdle after hurdle in this place. "London! Stop this at once!" I shouted, trying to sway myself back. "NO! I need that crystal!" London shouted as she kept lunging at me over and over again, hoping to steal the crystal from my hand like a basketball game. "Try this joke boy!" London exclaimed as she slammed the crystal on the ground. I wasn't sure that would do anything but within a few moments, the ground started to shake like an earthquake. It was much harder to keep my balance and London knew it as well. After a few failed attempts, she finally was able to touch my crystal piece and tried to pull it from my hand. Luckily, my tight grip on the crystal was too much for her and it was like trying to push a boulder up a mountain. I saw this as my chance and kicked her away. "Nice one, but I'll take more than that to beat me!" London said as we continued to fight. I don't know just how long this fight of ours was. Minutes, hours? However long it was, I started to pick up on some of London's windows. Over time, she seemed to be getting more and more tired while leaving her guard open. I saw this as my chance to attack when I saw my opening. She was about to slam the crystal on the ground again when I slid under her and after a few seconds of pulling, I grabbed her crystal piece right when she fell to the ground. "Sorry, London. I have places to be." I said just in time. Right when I had predicted it, another portal opened up and started to suck me in just like the last few times. "Not today!" London said as I reacted a second too late. She then pushed me out of the way right before I could fully enter the portal and dived into the portal as she vanished. "No!" I shouted as I tried to run to the portal but time was out. The portal closed, leaving me behind in the process. "SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" I exclaimed, still trying to process all of this. "She left me here." I then said to myself after a good few minutes of processing all of this. If there was any good to me being stranded in this town, I retrieved the crystal so at least I had two of them. I still don't know what happened to the first one but that was the least of my concerns for now. I was stuck in a new location with nowhere to go. I tried to see if touching the crystal again would trigger a portal but just like with the other crystal I had, it did nothing. I was beginning to wonder if triggering the portal was a one-use-only thing. If that was the case then I truly was stuck unless there was another way out of here that I had yet to know about. Was it scary? Being stuck with nowhere to go, yeah. It seems like I was learning lessons in this other world that I didn't think I would learn back with my friends. After what felt like a thousand days, I looked at my regulators, hoping that would give me a clue. All I saw was the two of them glowing extremely brightly like looking into a turned-on lightbulb. I'm guessing it was because I was next to two crystals but I don't know. I then got up and held the two crystals in my hands as I began to walk around the town, hoping that I could find another way out of here. It wasn't very eventful since I walked around the entire town until the sun started to set and I saw no way out. "This is great!" I shouted in anger as I began to cry. "I'm stuck in this town with relative jokes, I have no way out and I'll be stuck in here forever!" I then dropped my crystals as I fell to the ground. "And I'll never be able to say goodbye to my friends." Was giving up the only option I had? That was the only question I had at this point. I then sat down on the ground and started to look up at the night sky..."AUSTIN!" I heard a voice say. "Who's there?" I looked around the street and no one was out. Only instead there were lights in the houses that lit up the street but no one noticed. "AUSTIN!" I heard the voice say again. "Where are you?" I asked out loud as I saw no such person was around. "Down...In..." The voice said as I looked down and saw it. The two crystals that I possessed were glowing very brightly and they displayed some sort of hologram with a tall person. "Who are you?" I asked in an invested voice. "There's no time for that! I....have to tell you....." The hologram said as he started to stutter and disappear like a terrible, crappy school Wi-Fi connection. "Tell me what?" I asked. "Two.....crystals will get you......out....re!" The hologram said as it cut out again and this time, for good. "Two stalls will get you out of here?" I said as I tried to decode the message. "But how would the crystals get me out of here?" I then picked up the crystals and tried to find out if they would do anything...until I noticed something. There was a hole in the crystal I got from the 60s place and there was a small peg from this world's crystal. I then placed the crystals together with the help of the hole and the peg and they fit perfectly. Just then, they began to shake as they started to levitate. I was unsure as to what was going on but after a while, the ground started to shake as a few sparks began to fly out of the crystals and before I could comprehend it, a portal opened as I leaped for the crystals and I was sucked in. I was flying through the grayish, empty void at a rapid speed just like the last few times when something new happened. Instead of going to another world, I landed on one of the floating rocks with a mighty crash. "OWW, my back again!" I yelled in so much pain. If this was how getting older was like, I wasn't looking forward to it at all. "AUSTIN!" I heard the same voice call again in a very angry tone. "I'm gonna need back pain medicine when I get home!" I said as I looked around and saw no one in this void. "Is anyone there?" I asked, hoping that someone would answer. "YOU LITTLE!" I heard a voice say as I looked up and panicked. A giant floating rock was heading my way in rapid succession. I leaped just as the rock hit the rock that I was on and then, I saw him. "Boulder? Oh, I don't have time to deal with another counterpart! I need to find my real friends!" I said as I looked around for another portal. "You're friends? They don't exist anymore! Your friends don't exist in this place. YOU'RE FRIENDS ARE GONE!" Boulder shouted as another rock was coming at me and then everything went black.T̶̛̳́̊̐̋̀̓͐̀͐̅̈̕ǫ̵̺̮͍̝̖͇̹͇̼̮͓̋̈́͂͊̈́̈̓̆̽͂̈́͑́͛̉͋̌̚̚͝ ̷̼̪̝̦̬̘̼̗̻̖͕̈́͂͌̍͒̔̈͑̓́̈́͋͑̎̏̆̂̿͊͝B̶͓̭̟̱͉͙̠͓͙̎̏̒̀̏̈e̸̛̘̠̥̞̺̞͓̺̩͉̔́̒́̔͆̔̀͗̐̃͜͠͝ ̶̻͎̞͓̦͚̻̗̞̳͓̔̄͋́̄̕͜C̴̹̦͉̺̝̘͈̝̯̒̽̄͆̓̅́͝͝ọ̵̙̠́͆̌̒̈́̚n̴̡̻͖̬͎̰̣̽͊̔̈́̆̓͛́̾̀̀̚͠t̷͚̜̟̪̣̺̜̳̦͚̱̝͚̜̝͉̐͐̑̄͒̀̏͊̌̓̑̔͑͛́̊͂̚͜͜͜͝͝i̴̢̡̧͓̯̟̜̜͍̰̲̪͓̮̘͓̼̒͐̉̇́͆͗̈́͆̏ͅn̸̙͎̒̓̅̽̊̒͜ư̶̢̢̟͎͇̯̤̲̳̬̰̯̠̠̺͕͌́́̓̆̌͐̃̉́͋̂̌̃͐̾̀̏̌͒ͅȩ̶̧̛̹̞̗̲̰͖̥͇̖̺̮̜͚̼͕̻̗͇̩͛̑̀̐͑̿̑̾́̍̐͌̇̔͒̇̕͝d̸̡̛̖̣̺͕̼̟̹̼̮̫̤̲̬̺̯͚̿̓͊̃̿̓̐̽́̋̈́̓͊͗̏̐̓̕͘̚͠ͅͅͅͅ.̵̩̯̺͓̤̞̼̟̹̃͛͜ ̸̢̗͙̣͔͐̔͋̂̈̈́̚.̸̡̛̹̦̤̺̥̠̮̿͋͂̃͛̉̐̎̈͋̈́̾̀̂̚͜͝ ̷̫̝͇͙̼̖͚̐̈̂̃͐͌̋̋͂̎̕͝ͅ.̷̨̨̯̖͕̪̗̅͐̄̇͆̄͛̔͛̄͘͠͝ ̸̨͕̼̘̭͕̭̪̣̝̯͎̥̭͚͕̟͙̼̜̥̅̀̾̆͋̀̉̉͘͜
