Raoh sighed, scratching the dark stubble on his cheeks. "Have you tried talking to Zarek? This could all just be a big misunderstanding."
"Have you not been listening to me, Raoh?" Lucien raised his voice in annoyance. "To Zarek, all of this is a game to get to me. To get me to react so he can go on playing the victim while I continue to be the villain. And the worst part is, it is working!"
The silence that followed was thick and uncomfortable. Lucien regretted telling Raoh about it, but at that time, Raoh seemed like the best person to talk to. He needed solutions, not someone trying to scrutinize him or his words, and he certainly did not want someone saying bad things about Levina. It irked him whenever someone questioned Levina's character. If it were an ordinary maid or guard that said something against Levina, Lucien would have wasted no time in throwing them in prison.
"So what do you plan to do?" Raoh asked, breaking the silence.
