Chapter 1 - Bloodlust

"Aselia's POV

"Line up," the sandy-haired vampire who had hired me instructed us.

We entered the great hall which was located in the dungeon of the grand hotel of Fritez city, most people were unaware of its mere existence just like me till a few days ago.

The hall was vast and had an ancient feel to it from being dimly lit to its musty smell. There were a few chairs and sofas which were neatly arranged. On one side there was a bar for serving drinks and blood. In front of us, there was a raised platform that had a large wing chair resting on it.

The hall was completely empty except for us and the single being who occupied that wing chair. "Come closer," he ordered in a melodious voice. All of us moved forward and stopped at a distance of about 10 feet from him. As I stepped forward and straightened my head to look at him, our eyes locked instantly.

Wasn't he supposed to be an evil-looking bloodsucker? Instead, I was looking at the most handsome man I had ever laid my eyes on. He had exquisite features, an alluring personality and a heart-melting smile plastered on his face. With an aristocratic nose and a long pointed chin, he could be mistaken for a prince. His hair was long, straight and silverish cascading over his broad shoulders and flowing down to his waist. His slim hands were adorned with long and delicate fingers, one of them was resting on the chair while the other was under his face which was tilted sideways. Then there were those elegant pair of grey eyes, silent and calm as the sea on a normal day, yet fixated on me with a hint of insatiable hunger. His muscles were toned to perfection revealed by a purple deep neck which showed his bare chest, sculpted and chiselled to perfection. I couldn't determine his height as he was sitting but he appeared to be over 6 feet tall. I couldn't peel my eyes off him.

"Wow, he is so handsome." Squealed the girl standing next to me. After doing a staring contest with me for a few minutes he got up. Woah, he was even taller than I had expected, his slender legs gave him a captivating appeal. He headed straight toward me without giving heed to anyone else. My heart was pounding so I took a long breath to calm myself down and steadied my heartbeat.

He stopped a few inches away from me. Maintaining a classy and calm demeanour he asked:" What is your name?" his voice was soft and slippery like velvet.

"Aselia," I replied confidently. He inched closer to me, too close to my liking. With a swift movement of his right hand, he moved my long golden hair back from my left shoulder and placed his nose in the crook of my neck, inhaling my scent. My skin tingled where he touched me, sending little jolts throughout my body.

How could he just touch someone like that without permission? But I needed to be here so I kept my mouth shut.

Satisfied he stepped back: "Of course," his smile never faded as it extended to those gorgeous eyes and lit them up like flickering fireflies. "Carios, did you complete the background check." He casually asked the sandy-haired vampire without peeling his eyes off me.

"I did, Sire." He replied with a respectable bow.

"Very well then," he took my left hand in his and started walking towards the back side of the hall. Leaving everyone else waiting and watching. I, tagged along without saying a word, feeling his warm hand in mine. As he reached a door at the end of the hall he turned around and casually announced: "Get your party started, call the guests. The rest of them are yours."

He opened the door and we entered a long dark passageway. It had numerous doors on both sides. We kept walking and finally reached the end of the passageway from where it turned left. After crossing some more rooms we reached a silver-coloured door. He took out a key from his pocket and unlocked the door.

As we entered I saw it was an enormous room with a king-size four-poster bed in the centre with dark purple silk sheets on it. A coffee table and two side chairs were placed on one side. A vanity mirror hung on the front wall, which was painted blood red. There was no window in the room and the only source of light were two side lamps and an orb that emitted blue light hanging in the centre of the room. There was another door on my right side, which must be the bathroom.

He let go of my hand and stood at some distance facing me. The blue light illuminated his handsome features, arms crossed in front of his chest as he leaned with the poster of the bed, tilting his head just a bit as he looked me in the eyes: "Are you sure you are here of your own free will?" His question jolted my attention back to him. "Yes," was all I could muster.

"Hmmm, your heartbeat is very steady. Seems like you do this very often." His voice was gentle with no hint of sarcasm, his lips curving up in a seductive smile.

Why does he keep smiling at me? Isn't he suppose to be a dangerous villain in my story? Why doesn't he give menacing vibes? Why didn't I feel like running away from him? "On the contrary, this is my first time," I replied blatantly.

He arched his brows and his lips twitched a bit at my response. I guess he wasn't expecting this answer or maybe he wanted a different one. "Then I guess I have to be very gentle with you. You do realise it hurts. If you don't want to do it, you can still walk away." He gave me a choice.

"I didn't come here to walk away." He found my answer amusing for some reason. "Then remember once I drink your blood you will be bound to me, I won't share you with anyone else. As long as your contract lasts, you will only be MINE." There was a lot of emphasis on his last word. So, he was possessive as expected.

"I understand and I agree with your terms but I have one condition as well." There was urgency in my voice and he seemed to have sensed it because his expression changed to a more serious one. "Let's hear it."

"Intimate relationship is totally off the table," I told him with a steely determination.
