Chapter 31 - not what it looked like

Audrey ran towards where Dean stood before, but he wasn't there. She was deeply lost of breathe because the pressure weighed on her, what does Dean think?,she cried.

She walked further out, something caught her eyes on the floor beside the waste bin. It was a box and by it a bouquey of lilac roses, Audrey didn't need any confirmation she knew it was Dean who threw this away.

She picked up the box then opened it, inside was a chain. It was a silver hand chain which had half a heart, the chain looked so beautiful.

Audrey picked up the chain from the box and wore it, tears at the brim of her eyes. She couldn't just sit and sulk, she needed to fix things with Dean.

The heels she wore didn't make her move freely, so she removed it and ran bare foot. She had no idea where to start looking for Dean from, so she started with the place they always met after school. She ran till she reached panting hard, Dean leaned on tree his expression sad. He looked as tho everything was drained from him, it made Audrey's heart ache worse.

"Dean",Audrey called. He snapped out of his trans looking up, immediately he saw her he stood up. He was about walking away when Audrey rushed to hold his hand, to stop him from leaving.

Audrey felt really sore underneath her feet, but she ignored the pain because a greater pain aches worse."Dean is not what it looked like".

"I don't care",he said breaking away from her hold. "Please listen to me", Audrey beg.

"Listen to what? How you played with my emotions, I just needed a little space Audrey", Dean said looking disappointed.

"It's a misunderstanding, what you saw there wasn't what it seemed" Audrey tried to explain.

"You knew I had feelings for you", Dean said moving back, Audrey fought hard to control her tears. "He asked to go to the dance with me an-".

"If you didn't feel the same way, at least you would have told me, I wouldn't have had high hopes", Dean said bitterly.

Dean wanted to surprise Audrey by showing up at the dance holding a bouquet of flowers, but was greeted by a saddening sight. His heart ached as he saw Luca kiss Audrey, trying his best not to shed a tear he walked away. He threw the rose and the box he held by the side of the bin.

"I do feel the same way", Audrey tried to reason with him but he wasn't buying it. He held his gaze down, he didn't have the heart to look at Audrey.

"Dean please", Audrey said walking closer to him, she couldn't fight back her tears.

Dean looked up at Audrey, his iris looked diluted, it looked as tho it was fading. "Dean your eyes",Audrey said walking towards him, but he stepped further back looking away.

"Dean I'm sorry, if I knew it would lead to this, I wouldn't have accepted his proposal", Audrey said. At this point Audrey didn't know what to do, Dean didn't want her next to him. Dean kept walking back till he got to his bike.

Dean had planned everything out in his mind, a dramatic entrance and an exit. His school to was hosting theirs, but since this was Audrey's first Valentine's party in her new school, he wanted it to be worth the while. He planned on entering the hall, offering Audrey flowers then dance with her, then when the party was over, he'd pick her off her feet, then carry her to his bike and drive off. He had also arranged an after party for both her and him.

Dean had already gotten on his bike, Audrey ran towards him, but he turned on his bike and zoomed off.
