Chapter 37 - how he felt

•••Dean's POV••

Since the day Dean left, he has always been visiting Audrey. He knew everywhere she went and everything she did, he watched how she'd always go over to his place back then, how she'd cry non stop and wouldn't eat, how she begged for him to show up. But he had to over look it all because, now he had people to rule over. He couldn't succumb to his emotions.

Some times Audrey would go unconscious for a long time due to lack of food, water and sleep, it scared Dean anytime he couldn't sense her heart beat.

He could always watch her from where he was, but he'd prefer seeing her physically. When ever she was asleep, he would hover above her caressing her cheeks ever so softly. What he wouldn't do to leave everything behind and embrace her, wipe her tears and tell her he's here and he's not going anywhere.

Today he came over again, just to find her unconscious and her head bleeding. Why must death be the solution?, he asked himself.

Dean took a deep breath, then stepped into unconscious mind, he met her laying stomach flat on the ground.

Everytime he's been here, her unconscious mind has never been lit. Like he was the only light in her dark void, literally.

"What did you do this time?", he asked looking down at her, he could see her very clearly.

"What do want?",she asked in a passive manner. What did she mean by what do I want? Someone who's been begging to meet with, such irony, he thought.

"What do you mean?", He asked.

"It's seem you like to visit me when ever I'm on the verge of death, well you don't have to worry. I'm not dying, you can go back to where you came from", she replied.

"And later I'll be tagged rude", Dean murmured.

"i don't know why you punish me over an incident i had no control of. I never knew he would kiss me, if i did, i wouldn't have danced with him", Audrey said using her hands to push her self up to sit right.

Again with this issue, Dean whined in his head. Dean had already forgotten what conspired months ago, but that didn't mean he wasn't pained by it. Seeing her in the arms of another, worded kissed by him. But that was all in the past, he didn't want to open up closed wounds.

Since Audrey was still leaving in the past memories, and thought that's was the Dean left he decided to play along.

He took a deep breath then asked,"who accepted his proposal? who danced with him? who gave him the opening for a kiss?".

"you should be happy, you gave me the push I needed. Weren't you the one always on about family, he's my father blah and blah".

"And to let you know, I don't care about what happened with you two. It's a past event, happened months ago, dwelling on it would do me no good".

Dean knew he was being to harsh with his words, but he couldn't soften them out. He wanted to create this perspective to Audrey that he wants nothing to do with her. He kept telling himself he needed to let go, but it was easier said than done. He thought staying far away from her would help quench the ache in his heart, the urge to be with her, but it only made it worse both sides.

Audrey to then didn't want to accept that he was gone, all those times she went to his place in hope to see him. From longing to see Dean, to depression and loneliness, to multiple attempted suicides.

Dean wasn't happy that she wasn't taking care of her self or eating properly, but he was fine with that even tho he was pain. But now that she's trying constantly to kill herself, that Dean couldn't bare to see.

She could already tell she can't die, but her consistency didn't falter, each attempt was worse than the last.

Audrey heard clicks of shoes walking away from her, before Dean could walk farther away she launched herself stretching her hands out to grab him.

To her surprise she caught his leg, Dean was taken a back to how she knew exactly where he was, Can she see me?, he asked himself.

"So you do hate me?",Audrey asked crossing her legs, her head facing down still holding on to his leg.

Dean didn't struggle nor try to free himself, he just stood still. He was tired with acting tough, the warmth of her hand gave a small relief. If this was the only way she could touch him, and let some steam out he didn't mind. He could hear her sniffing, and he didn't like it.

"don't start crying again, it's getting irritating",Dean said impassively.

She immediately started to cry, Gosh I was to harsh, he scolded himself. But he still kept his cool.

Who are you?, she asked herself fighting her tears back.

Dean knew he had been to harsh so he tried to change the topic.

"You really let yourself go", he said finally turning around. He didn't bother releasing himself from her grip, he just sat down. "When last did you eat?".

"I don't remember",she said bringing her hand back to herself.

who needs food when you can sleep your hunger away, she thought.

"Okay",Dean said, moving more closer to her so she could hear him more clearly. "When was the last time you took a bath?",

"Yesterday",she replied.

"Hmmm", she winced.

He could tell she was in pain,"Why are you doing this to your self?".

"depriving your self food and care won't solve anything. I'm pretty sure by now you know you're far different from a normal human, if death is what you're looking for, it's not coming anytime soon".

He hoped saying that would help her quit her thoughts of constant suicide attempts.

"Where has self care gotten?", she asked.

There was no use talking to her, all he wanted was her well being, but she didn't wish the same for herself.

Dean felt too comfortable beside her, and he didn't like that. He felt if he stayed longer, it'll break his reserve. All the walls he struggled to build, would just crumble in an instance. Before that would happen, he needed to leave, so he stood up and started walking away

"you're leaving?", Audrey asked.

"I have somewhere I need to be",Dean said leaving
