Audrey held her shoes in her hands then began to run, school was far from home but what was on her mind was clearing things with Dean.
Her feet were sore and ached bad because she stepped on a lot of things, she ran till she couldn't anymore. She picked up her phone and dialed a cab, the cab showed up right in front of her. She got in then closed the door,"Please drive as fast as you can".
She dialed Dean's number but he didn't answer, she dialed it again, it didn't go through. She tried calling again it still didn't go through, even tho the driver drove as fast as he could, it still felt slow.
Audrey anxiety has already built up, she didn't know how to react anymore. She prayed so hard, she didn't want Dean to hate her. He was her life, her everything, if she lost him, she has lost everything.
Finally the car has reached Dean's place, she rushed out of the car running straight to Dean's door, then she remembered she hadnt paid the driver. She ran back to the car apologizing, she paid him then rushed to Dean's house again.
During the whole drive, the driver felt pressured. Audrey might not have said much, but the driver could feel the tension in the air. He could tell that Audrey was really in a pickle. When he had reached her destination, she didn't even waste time she ran out of the car. She had already reached the balcony, before the driver could say anything she turned back and rushed back to the car.
"I'm so sorry", Audrey said paying him. "It's fine", the driver replied. Immediately she was done paying she ran back.
The driver just watched as she ran barefoot to the house, hope she's alright, the driver said driving off.
Audrey raised her hand to knock the door but it slid open, with out wasting time she ran in.
"Dean!!",she rushed up the stairs because he wasn't in his living room. She ran as fast as she could , ignoring all the pains she felt under her feet. She looked like a mess, her makeup smugded, her hair so tattered and everywhere. Her feet were dusty and underneath it bruises, it showed she hard gone through enough. She
opened Deans room door to see him crouching.
A lot seemed off about him, his hair color had changed from the usual dark brown to white. It was really confusing, early at school his hair was dark brown, so what happened between the few minutes they were apart.
"Dean",Audrey hurried towards him but he raised his left hand up to stop her in her tracks. "Don't come any closer", he whispered underneath his breath, with all that his gaze was on the ground
"But-", Audrey tried stepping forward. "Don't", he said raising his head to look at her directly, she could see his face clearly now.
At school his iris held a little bit of color but right now,it had non. His eyes were so clear he looked blind.
"Dean what's happening to you",Audrey cried in panic. She didn't know what was going on with Dean, what hurt her the most was he didn't want her next to him. How can she help him if she can't get close, but even with that she was still stubborn.
Dean was at the far end of his room, bit by bit Audrey covered the gap."It's Time",Dean said trying to play down his emotion, but it could'nt be hidden.
"What is Time?", Audrey asked confused walking to him slowly. "Dean you're scaring me".
As she tried walking towards him, she felt as tho she was being pushed back, the closer the distance between them, the harder it was for her to come close.
"Time for me to go-ah",Dean groan holding his side. "Dean!", Audrey exclaimed, she increased her pace but the force was strong and the injury she had under her feet didn't make it any better.
"He has come", he said letting out a dry cough. "Who has come?",Audrey asked.
What is time?who has come?, she asked herself.
"Mortem", Dean said with short of breath.
Audrey had lot of questions she needed answered like who was this Mortem and what is his business with Dean, what deep business did he have with Dean. Dean didn't want to rule, so why was he being forced.
"where is he?",Audrey asked still forcing her way to him. " Somewhere around here", he replied. "Waiting for my resolve to break so he can finally take me".
With difficulty he stood up, supporting his body with his hand on the wall. "No!. i won't let you leave, you can stop talking to me for weeks or months, you can ignore me if you'd like but please don't leave me, I beg of you",Audrey begged forcing her way to him, she couldnt stop the tears that poured down her eyes.
"I have to go. I have no other option", Dean said looking away.
It broke Dean's heart to see Audrey this way, her tears made his heart hurt but they was nothing he could do.
Mortem came to Dean earlier in the day, he threatened to harm Audrey if Dean didn't comply. Audrey meant everything to Dean, he'd gladly lay his life down just for her. Dean just had today to see Audrey and enjoy his time with her before he left, he planned on leaving her a letter before he left, but things took a bad turn.
Audrey tried to push through with everything she hard, she forced her way to him until it was few steps to reach him.
"i can't hold this up any longer", Dean said gasping for air. "Dean please at least hold till I reach you", Audrey begged.
Dean took in a deep breath letting out a pained yet genuine smile before everywhere engulfed in light. This broke the force keeping Audrey away from Dean sending her flying across the room "Ah!".
Audrey quickly picked her self up running to where the light illuminated from, Dean stretched his hand towards her. She ran stretching her hands forward, immediately their hands touched he disappeared. "NO!!", Audrey screamed.
"Dean!!",Audrey yelled crying terribly, she couldn't fight back the tears she held back, she knelt on both her knees her hands on the ground.
Dean just disappeared right Infront of her, how could she process this. How was that even possible? What was he? A lot she didn't know. who could answer all this but Dean himself, lord knows where he disappeared to.
"I'm sorry for making out with Luca, I'm sorry I didn't spend my birthday with you, I'm sorry I couldn't be your Valentine's. Please come back! I beg of you, don't do this to me", Audrey begged sitting on the floor as tears poured down her eyes like a broken dam.
"This isn't fair, we promised each other we'd stick together through thick and thin, best friends for ever. Why are you going back now, why is it now when I've started growing feelings for you", she cried clenching her knees. "Please don't do this, I have no one else".
She laid on the floor hugging myself as she wept bitterly, no matter how hard she cried, it couldn't quenched the pain she felt in her heart. Dean was her only friend, she didn't bother to make more because she felt she needed only him and him alone. Now that his gone, who can she turn to.
Audrey cried until she couldn't anymore, until they were no tears left to cry. She picked herself up, dragging herself to her house. She didn't bother locking the door, she just laid at the entrance,as tears welled up her eyes again.
"Dean".
