Life is born and life dies. That's one way of looking at it, although it's a dark and alluding thought, that is the story of life. If a person sleeps on the only surface of the world thinking that is his existence, for all his life that would be his conclusion, his story. Although we don't live like that, we sometimes wonder, within the deepest and darkest thoughts in our mind, "Is this it? Is this all that we are here for?".
It is crazy to think about the reality of our existence or the fact that we are acting out a painting on the biggest canvas of the universe. Either way, we like to think, we are in control of our lives and no matter what angels or demons may possess us, we are in control of our destiny. Yes, it is true, to some extent you are in control of the things that happen to you but sometimes a chance, a one in a million chance the universe decides for you. You will not know when and you will not know where but it will hit you with the biggest truck it has and it will say
"This is your destiny, this is yours and I have travelled throughout the cosmos to deliver you this, for this is the rest of your life."
Suddenly I am in the world of the living, I mean I could feel this pain and I wake up to the commotion of my kids waking me up in the cutest yet most annoying way known to mankind: hitting me with pillows and jumping on me. Yup, I have kids, two to be specific. The elder one is Katie and the younger one is Nazelin. You read it right and I know it sounds like a weird name but it is pretty unique and it is named after my grandparents Nazareth and Franklin. Before you ask he loves his name and will kick your ass if you make fun of it. Nazelin is four and Katie is seven. So that pretty much sums up my life.
"Hey babe? How about family breakfast in bed?" A sweet voice said from the entrance of the room.
Oh, my bad. I forgot to mention one very important detail in my life, well I would say the most important. My wife Averie, the light of my life. If it were not for her, well... We'll come to that when the time is right.
"Sure!! Thanks, Averie" I reply
"Naze, Kate did you brush your teeth and wash your hands?" I ask the kids
"Surprisingly yes!!" replied Katie everyone laughs and that is the start of the day.
Pretty awesome life, right?? Well, it was not always like this... The weird thing is I don't ever remember being truly happy before I met Averie.
