The next day was pretty normal. The next week and even the month after that. On the 1st of June, a few days left for school to start for Katie and Naze.
"I can't believe that kids have already finished another year. Time flies so fast." Averie told me.
"Hmm, I wish I could say otherwise." The both of us giggled.
Katie comes running down the stairs and bolted out the door with only a slice of bread in her mouth and her football bag and Naze also came down because apparently, Katie was causing a ruckus in her room.
"Hey honey, aren't we meeting Chazos today?" I asked Averie
"Oh my God!! I almost forgot. I cannot believe we are going to meet after almost two years, sorry kiddo you are on your own today." She replied.
"That's fine. It's still the summer, I'll just have Brooke and Tony over" He said.
"The three of you better not play on that damn PS in front of the TV the whole day. I mean look outside the weather is bloody perfect, get some fresh air." I replied
I wanted to go to watch Katie's soccer practice but I was so busy and not to mention lazy, but in all seriousness, I have a ton of work coming up. I leave for Egypt in one or two months, so might as well get off my ass and go see her play.
"Honey I'm going to watch Katie's practice. Wanna come?" I asked Averie.
"No, I have some work to take care of, and not to mention I have to prepare dinner for the kids before we leave. So bye and drive safe." She replied.
I got changed and decided to take the bike today. I started the bike and damn I missed riding, the sound, the rush, this was one of the best feelings first thing in the morning. OK, let's go. I accelerated way too fast. I think the whole neighborhood might have got up, but this is fun.
Sometimes, just a white T-shirt, jeans, leather boots and me in my leather jacket, now that's a good life. I reached the soccer field and saw the number '11' jersey. That used to be my jersey number from middle school through college and she plays way better than how I used to play. She finished practice and we went out for some waffles and milkshakes then we went for a ride by the beach and reached home.
"Now that was a 'Good Morning'. See you later dad." Katie said to me and went to her room.
Fast forward to later that day.
"Come on honey, We are going to be late," I said to Averie.
"OK, just give me 15 minutes" Averie replied.
"15 minutes?! No, we are leaving now" I took her hand, said bye to the kids, and left.
