Chapter 1 - Sakura blossoms

Kazuma woke up to the blinding sun in his eyes, he promptly sat up from his bed and glanced over at the window. It was a beautiful day. The sky was a sapphire blue and the sun turned the country flora into an ocean of bright colours. He leaped to his feat and excitedly got dressed, putting on his grey coat and jeans. he desperately attempted to comb his messy grey hair before giving up and running outside.

Kazuma was age 10 at this point and was going to meet his friends. as soon as he stepped out he saw her, a small beautiful girl with a pink coat and long perfectly straight brown hair and eyes the same colour as the sky on that day. she was wearing a rainbow colored backpack covered in key rings and charms, the moment their eyes met her face lit up with excitement. "Good morning Kazuma!"

"G-good morning Kiah" he said. Kiah rushed over to him giving him a hug. "Your early this morning" said Kazuma with a smile. "Well it's such a lovely day!" she replied with a big smile. "Where is Jax?" asked Kazuma. "Over here" said a voice beside them. Kazuma looked toward the voices origin and saw his best friend Jax slightly raising his hand in a signal of greeting.

Jax had long black hair in a ponytail and a black coat with a grey scarf that covered part of his neck. in spite of the gorgeous sunlight it was surprisingly cold that day.

"Hey Jax!" said Kiah cheerfully. Jax smiled back at her. "So what's the plan for today?" he asked in a slightly monotone voice contrasting the other two's cheerfulness. "Well I want to go to the park!" exclaimed Kiah reaching her hand into the air. "Same here" Kazuma agreed. "Ok then" said Jax, "to the park we go I suppose."

The three of them all lived in a countryside town just outside the main city so there was plenty of grass and trees and other types of flora. On the way there they passed a cute little cafe where a sweet old lady sold cakes and other desert items. Then they passed the news agent run by a good natured man who was close friends with Kiah's mother. "Morning you three!" he waved. "Hi there!" waved Kiah energetically.

It was funny, Kiah seemed to be friends with everyone in the town, she was never bullied by anyone and had no enemies. she was just a kind soul who brought joy to all who met her.

On the way to the park Jax stopped and looked at the forest that surrounded it. "Hey look" he said pointing at a figure in the trees. Kazuma squinted. "who is that?" he asked. "A woman I think, in a black dress" said Jax. "Hey we're almost there!" shouted Kiah. "We're coming" Kazuma replied.

They eventually made it to the park. It was beautiful, more beautiful than ever. Trees surrounded a patch of beautiful luscious grass as the sun fired rays of light onto the ground. White flowers dotted the ground and vines grew up the playground equipment that was dotted around. it looked as if it was from a fairytale.

"Whoa!" Exclaimed Kiah before running to the swings with Kazuma and Jax following behind her. Kiah and Kazuma sat on the swings while Jax stood in front of them. "It's so beautiful!" said Kiah joyfully swinging back and forth. "Hey Kiah have you read volume 8 of fairy quest?" asked Kazuma. "Ha you guys still read those books?" laughed Jax. "he he, that takes me back"

"of course we still read them it's our favourite manga!" shouted Kiah causing all three of them to laugh. "I just finished volume 7 I need to ask my mum to get volume 8" she said.

"Gasp! look!" Kiah said pointing at the trees. "What is it?!" asked Kazuma and Jax frantically looking around. "Sakura blossoms! my favourite flower!" she said before speeding towards the trees as if on a mission. Kazuma and Jax looked at each other and began to laugh as Kiah basked in the rain of pink blossoms falling onto her.

As Kiah danced beneath the trees Kazuma and Jax sat and chatted. "Hey Kazuma, I want to marry her some day" said Jax casually. "Huh!?" Kazuma quickly whipped his head around and gave Jax a dumfounded look. Jax glanced over at him and smiled. "Don't look so surprised" he said "I know you have thought about it too" he said. "Urm, w-well I uh..." Kazuma stammered.

The three of them played at the park for a bit longer before going to the train tracks nearby that they liked to play and balance on. they all lay down and talked. "today has been great!" said Kiah cheerfully. "By the way I have a question" she said. "Go on" said Jax. "What do you want to do when you grow up?" she asked. Kazuma grinned. "well Jax said one day he wants to marry-" Jax gasped and put his hand over Kazuma's mouth. "He he well to be honest I haven't really thought about it" Jax replied nervously. Kiah giggled. "What about you Kazuma?" she asked. Kazuma sat up and removed Jax's hand. "I guess I like drawing so maybe a manga artist" he replied. "how about you?" asked Jax. Kiah pondered for a moment before smiling and laying herself back down on the cold steal tracks. "I want to be able to look at sakura blossoms with my two best friends for the rest of my life" she said ambitiously. "oh that reminds me, I have something to give to you both!" she said getting to her feet.

They decided to go back to Kiah's house where this thing was. On the way there they encountered the old lady who runs the café. "Oh hello there deers" she smiled. "Hi there, I hope you're having a great day!" smiled Kiah with glee. "Hey" said Kazuma before being distracted by something in the corner of his eye. The woman in the forest...
