Chapter 1: Morning Catastrophe
Waking early in the morning looking outside the window seeing the beautiful bed of flowers at the garden makes it another great day for Audrey. The weather seemed to be perfect but when she suddenly looked at her alarm clock at her study table, she realized, "OMG I'm running late!"
She went inside the bathroom primped herself as fast as she realized that she read too much romance fiction yesterday and had forgotten to set her alarm up. Getting too absorbed while reading books is what she considers one of her weaknesses.
It's the first day of another school year and it's such a catastrophe. After making sure that she'd readied herself, she went downstairs like a hurricane. But before she opened the door her brother stopped her before another catastrophe happened.
"Audrey, stop. Where is your ID?" Levi said it with a smile as he prepared a packed breakfast for his sister. He's like a mother at such times. Understandably, their parents were both busy working abroad making him as the eldest to take care of his carefree sister.
"Gosh, it's still in my room! Why didn't you wake me up early?!" Eyebrows furrowed, Audrey ran upstairs.
Levi put his shoes on. He handed Audrey's breakfast since it was expected that she wouldn't be eating at home at this rate. He really liked annoying his sister at times. They're both studying at the same university. He's currently a freshman in the college department while his sister is still in her senior year.
"I don't need to wake you up early. We still have an hour before we both run late for school." Levi smirked as he calmly went outside the door.
"What do you mean??? It's already passed 8'o o'clock in the morning! Both of our classes start at 8!" She responded with a panicked tone in her voice and added, "I really can't believe that you let your cute little sister be late on her first day of school!"
"I adjusted your alarm clock an hour earlier because you move so slowly every morning like a turtle." Levi laughed as open up his phone and showed Audrey what the real-time is.
"Argh! You are such a...! I'm seriously going to destroy that perfectly waxed hair of yours!"
"Hands off! Hahaha" He stepped back teasingly for he knew that Audrey wouldn't reach him for she's not that tall to begin with. "You really are so cute jumping like a shrimp."
"This is the reason why you still don't have a girlfriend. You don't know how to treat girls properly." Audrey went to the mailbox to see if there was any mail. "It's here! Kyle wrote back!" She held the letter on her chest embracing it for it was precious to her.
The sound of Kyle's name somehow irritates Levi. Though he knows who he is, still there's something inside him that stirs like a boiling cauldron just by hearing his name. But seeing Audrey happy whenever she receives a letter from him makes him somehow happy.
For now, he should keep his silence as Audrey enjoys the little garden that was made especially for her. If she finds out the truth now, she might not smile like this again. Levi knows that he's just Audrey's brother that he should act like one and be like one. For her sake, he knows that he will do anything just to make her smile.
They arrived at school still early since it was just a few blocks away from their school. Audrey says that there's a bunch of people grouped outside their building while looking at something. She saw her best friend near the building entrance so she approached her.
"Morning Kylie. What's going on?" She said as she tried to look at what was happening.
"Wow, you're early" Kylie said as she searched for something on her phone.
"I know right? It's my brother. Geez, I'll tell you about it later." Audrey saw what the people were talking about and it was a sports car so told Kylie her anxious thoughts about it. "It's just a sports car why make a big deal out of it?"
"I know! But look! There's a rumor on our school social media page that there is someone prestigious transferring today and people said that he's good-looking. I mean look! His family was said to be the one who donated the new auditorium at the college department and not just that. This guy was said to be someone untouchable" She showed her the feed on her phone making it looks like there really was someone notable who was going to transfer and it somehow made her feel a little nervous for no reason.
"Let's just go to our room now. I don't feel good about crazy rich people transferring to our school."
Classes were about to start; Audrey at Kylie picked a seat near the window. It seems that their first teacher will be Miss Devon again. When she entered the room, so does a student came in. Audrey looked at the new face and somehow it made her think that he looked really familiar. He stared at him looking surprised.
"Good morning class! All of you take your seats." Miss Devon put her things on top of her table and added, "As you all know we have a transferee who will be your classmate. Now introduce yourself."
"Hi Everyone. My name is Aiden Wang. I transferred here because I am searching for someone who is dear to me, I hope that we can all become friends." When he said the words 'dear to me' he caught Audrey's eyes looking firmly at him so he looked back at her making her conscious by averting her eyes away from him.
Audrey is questioning herself why it seems that he's someone whom she knows from somewhere. Okay, he is extremely good looking but that is not the case. There was something else that seemed to be bothering her. Just who is this guy?
