With the school week had gone like a hell week to most students, weekends became a scapegoat to those who still wanted to slumber all day in their beds. With the two-month vacation had really just also ended, it seems that a "vacation hangover" had infected a number of students who were still wishing for a longer break, and Audrey's one of those who is being diagnosed with it. Her mind and body were both left still vacationing somewhere.
Since today is Sunday, Audrey slept late yesterday reading some romance fiction over the internet again. She was so engrossed with the new story that she's been reading that she didn't even dare to plan on waking early in the morning.
A tune of Camila Cabello's song Bad Things started to sing out of her phone. Still unawake, she thought that she's still dreaming. But when she realized that it was her phone ringing, she reached for her phone at her side table with her eyes still closed and answered it without even bother looking who it was.
"Hmm…hello?" She said half awake.
"Audrey, we have a problem! I need your help!!!" It was Kylie.
Startled with what Kylie had just said, Audrey rose up from her bed and said, "What? Wait. Calm down. What is going on?"
"Meet me at XXX Café right now near the station and I'll tell you everything!"
"Hold on…I need to take a bath first." She stood up and took her towel hanged behind her door.
"No need! Just wash you face, brush your teeth and go. I need you now ASAP!"
Without knowing what is going on, Audrey hurried up and went to meet up with Kylie at XXX Café. She immediately went looking for her inside the café and saw her seating at the farthest corner of the cafe together with a guy wearing a pair of black tinted shades, a hooded jacket and a face mask.
She sat at the empty chair in front of them and asked her best friend, "You know how I like to sleep late and wake up late every weekend. There better be a good reason why you summoned me early in the morning."
"I know sleepy bear! But it's not already 'early in the morning'. It's like passed 10 AM."
"It's still early for me, so what is going on again?"
"Here goes. I was purchasing my coffee and honey glazed donut earlier and I was perplexed that I was dragged by this crazy guy at this corner asking for my help."
"Hi Audrey." It's Aiden's voice.
Surprised, Audrey leaned and took a closer look at him and said, "Oh my gosh! I almost didn't recognize you. What's with that attire? You look like as if you're hiding from someone."
"Actually, yes. I'm trying to conceal my identity right now. The thing is I was being chased by the girl outside."
Audrey took a bite of Kylie's donut placed in front of her and asked, "What girl?"
Aiden pointed at the girl with the jet-black hair leaning outside the tree.
Audrey looked outside and her eyes were immediately fixed on a model looking girl by the tree. When she looked carefully, her jaw almost dropped with surprise. "OMG! Isn't that Tiffany Miller?!" She didn't see her earlier for she was in such a hurry meeting up with Kylie. She's only saw photos of her on magazines and a few advertisements on the TV but looking at her in person made her realize that she's really beautiful with a dead drop gorgeous body that seemed to be 36-24-36 in measurement. Her tall height also helps a lot in making her stand out more.
She looked at Aiden and said in amusement and said, "Isn't she that famous model who debuted at the age of 12y/o?! Why was she following you??"
"She is. Apparently, she happened to be an acquaintance of mine. She's a family friend. She's currently staying at our family villa to be exact. I went home yesterday to check out on my dog and there she told me that she's currently on vacation. She keeps on bugging me to be her boyfriend but I already told her many times that it's a no."
"You're pretty harsh." Kylie said looking as if she's annoyed.
Aiden continued telling Audrey what happened. "So long story short, I told her that I already have a girlfriend and I'm actually meeting her today. She of course didn't believe me and said that I'm only using that as an excuse. And now she tailed on me and followed me here."
"So where is your girlfriend?"
"I actually lied. I don't have one."
"Oh gosh. What do you plan on doing now? You can't just tell her that you lied. It would be a double kill for her."
"That is why you are here Audrey." Kylie looked at her seriously.
"Don't tell me…" Audrey looked back at her and gave her a 'don't do this to me look'.
"Yes, you need to be Aiden's girlfriend for the day."
"What???" She held the back of her left hand on her mouth as she almost fell of her chair with her surprise. She added, "Why me? Weren't you the first one that was dragged and was asked for help?"
"Yes, but I can't. If Louie found out that I pretended to be someone else's girlfriend even if it's just for the day he'll get mad for sure."
"Who's Louie?"
"My suitor. I was about to tell this to you tomorrow at school but thanks to Aiden here it seems that there's no need anymore."
"I will understand if you don't want to help me out. I mean, who would want to be someone's girlfriend in an instant right? I can't ask anyone else. I've only known a few people and most of them are guys. I can't possibly ask any of them to be my girlfriend, that would be a total disaster." He looked at her with puppy eyes.
Audrey almost laughed at Aiden's self-pity lines. She thought that it was convincingly cute. She then replied, "Saying no wouldn't be an option I guess." She gave him a sweet smile.
"You're really helping me out?" Aiden held Audrey's hand with his as if pleading for her to say 'yes'.
"Yes. I'll be your girlfriend, Aiden."
