There were not enough words to describe on how surprised Aiden was. He actually didn't really think that Audrey will agree to help him in the first place, but doing something that he only anticipated inside his dream is something way more like a fantasy that turned in a reality.
He was in a complete state of disbelief. Everything had literally stopped processing around him as he was trying to assess what had really actually happened. It's as if all his worries, fears and uncertainties, were taken away in an instant. He thought that it will end just like that but she didn't just stop there.
Audrey couldn't explain herself what she just did. She felt that she needed to be selfish, hostile and unkind at that very moment. Thinking that she's responding to Aiden's every touch was strange enough. She's like known him for like a week now but it feels that she's known him from long ago already.
He unsettles her. He's like lighting a flame inside of her that's slowly starting to ignite. She's never felt like this before but it somehow feels familiar. It's making her want to do more. She wanted to try and find out what is shaking her emotions up.
Feeling provoked, she trailed her hands towards the nape of his neck bewitching him. She moved forward and looked at him in the eye trying to captivate his gaze. There she saw him looking back at her with such a pair of mesmerizing eyes. Her eyes slowly went down his lips and did the unexpected.
She leaned and parted his lips with hers. She remained for a couple of seconds but she felt like it wasn't enough. So she whispered on to his left ear and said, "I want more."
With Aiden completely stuttered, he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist, embraced her and said, "Damn it. Don't make me love you more than I already have! I'm afraid that I might break you up."
Aiden couldn't hold on of his thoughts already. So, after telling her such words, he embraced her tightly, buried his head on her shoulders afraid that she might run away. He loves her so very much. She was his sunshine on his dark and lonely world. She was the only one that kept him going. She's his happiness, sadness and fear.
He wanted to tell her how much he wanted to be with her. He wanted to tell her how much he needed her. He wanted to tell her how much he loves her after all these years. But he couldn't. He thought that being with her even if it's just like this is already enough for him. There was so much fear; fear of sadness, fear of being hated, fear of being alone again.
Audrey was staggered. How Aiden abruptly embraced her was startling enough but what he said was more way surprising. She knew it must be an act. But to her, it felt real. It feels very warm and comforting. It's like she had been waiting for it to happen for a while now.
She heard the footsteps went farther now. She looked at where it's coming from and she's right. It definitely was Tiffany. She somehow feels sorry for her for this might be too much for her. But in some way, she feels happy about it. Her mind was starting to contradict her rationality.
"Aiden…" She said as if whispering his name.
"Yes?"
"She finally left."
"What?"
"You can…let go now. She won't bother you anymore…I guess."
"Ow…uhh." Unaware that he's been embracing her for a while now, he let go and moved back and said, "Sorry."
"No! I am…actually I…err." Audrey said as if she's lagging. She wanted to tell him that she didn't mean to kiss him but she can't for she actually looked like she really meant it! She wanted to speak but she couldn't figure out what to say after what she did.
"About uhm…I really…ugh." Aiden said while being lost for words.
Silence slowly enveloped them. They both wanted to say something but they were still speechless. It was all so much to take in. When Audrey's phone started ringing, she almost jumped out of her seat. She then took her phone out of her pocket to see who it was. It was Kylie.
"Y-yes?!" She said still perplexed. She saw Aiden looking at her.
"Tiffany's finally gone."
"I know."
"You two were really something. Are you sure that you were just pretending?"
"S-stop it!" She looked back at Aiden looking really guilty.
"Okay fine I won't tease you for now."
"Why did you suddenly call? You almost made me trip off of my seat."
"I don't want to ruin your romantic atmosphere so I'll remain hiding in the bushes. So anyways! Your brother texted me, asking me if I'm still planning on sending you home."
"He's so over protective! I told him earlier I'm going to meet you up today. Geez!"
"What should I reply to him?"
"Tell him that I'm on my way now before he started panicking."
"Okay! I'll go first then. Chat you up later Babe!"
"Yeah. You too Babe." She hanged up her phone infuriated.
"Was it Kylie?" It's Aiden.
"Yes!!! I mean…yes." She almost vented out at him so she said, "I'm sorry. It's just that my brother is so getting on my nerves right now."
"He seemed to be overprotective."
"He is! Ugh!" She grunted anxiously in desperation.
"Let me take you home then."
"No. It's okay. I can commute by train."
"While looking so beautiful like that? Not a chance."
"I know some karate. I can take good care of myself."
"I think your house is not that near from here. Besides, if anything bad happens to you I'll surely blame myself not stopping you."
"Err…you're not going to sell me off right?" She said a little worried.
"You're still worried about that? Hahaha!" He laughed in disbelief and said, "Princess, I don't plan on giving you to others. You're mine. Remember?"
