"Hey you. Stop right there!"
Audrey's heart leaped a beat as she slowly turns around to see who grabbed her arm. When she saw who it was, it's one of Aiden's fangirls! She was so sure because she's holding her and Aiden's photo on her left. She then tried asking what's wrong.
"Hmm? Yes?" She said with a smile as she tries to be calm as a millpond.
"You dropped your handkerchief."
When she looked down, she indeed has dropped her handkerchief. She's really such a clutz. She then thanked the girl as she picks her hanky up. She was then released right after. She and Kylie then continued to walk inside the school calm and collected.
After reaching their building they were both so relieved that they sighed heavily. Audrey never would have thought that a time will come where she might enter the school with such distress. That was definitely one of a kind experience.
"I really thought I'm about to die earlier!" Audrey said tiringly as she felt a sudden exhaustion rise from too much pressure.
"Me too! My gosh that was really scary. I didn't expect them to one by one sort us out just to figure the identity of Aiden's mystery girl."
"Same here! I wonder if we'll go through with the same drill like this tomorrow."
"You bet! I think they won't stop till they figure out who she is."
"I just hope that they get tired soon." Audrey hoped, for her heart might literally stop from all the suspense that is happening.
As soon as they reached their room, they saw Aiden being swarmed by their classmates. Audrey just sat on her chair like it didn't bother her. She then opened up a book while waiting for their teacher to arrive.
She's been trying hard to read a single sentence from her book for a while now but she can't help not to get too distracted. She can clearly hear Aiden answering questions related to their photo.
"Aiden is the photo currently circulating online is you?" A girl asked.
"What photo?" He innocently asked.
"You don't know? Here bro look at this." His seatmate said as he shows him his phone. He looked at it and it really is his photo and Audrey's.
It was the first time he'd seen it because he hasn't opened his social media account since he already knows that he's currently trending already. The photo was kind of blurry but it was clear enough to confirm that it was him.
He then replied truthfully, "Yes, it's me."
Questions started flooding one by one.
"Who is the lucky girl?"
"Do you have a photo of her?"
"Where did you meet?"
"How did you meet?"
Though Audrey's trying so hard to ignore everyone around, she closed her book and realized that if she can't beat them, why not join them.
"What's up? What are you talking about?" Audrey said joining in.
"Hi Audrey, we're talking about the photo online." A girl replied. She seemed nice though.
"Oh, that photo? I saw it too. I'm also curious who the girl is." Kylie replied.
"Yes, we all are."
"Hey Kylie, have you seen this?" Audrey said trying to catch Kylie's attention for she seemed a little preoccupied texting somebody on her phone.
"What? Oh sorry. I'm currently texting Louie. I'll catch up later."
"Never mind." She said remembering who Louie was again. She wonders if he's a good guy though.
"So, is she your girlfriend?" Someone asked.
"Yes." He replied with a sweet smile.
"Aww. That's so cute! You must love her a lot! Looking at your photo with her makes me want to have a boyfriend right now." A girl classmate said as she squealed.
"Yeah. I do love her. More than I can say." He looked back at the girl like he was melting her with his stare. Looking at the girl innocently fall for that trick makes Audrey realize that this guy is a killer.
Aiden suddenly averted his gaze towards Audrey as he smiles at her. Audrey can't help not to feel anything funny about it. She hopes that this will end soon or else she might seriously lose in this game of catch. She then told herself that this is just a mere child's play that there's no need to complicate things.
"Geez bro you're my seatmate yet you didn't mention to me that you're dating a chick." His seatmate said.
"I really don't want to publicly announce that I'm dating anybody because I want it to be a private matter only."
"I didn't think that you're into girls with bluish hair color." Audrey said as if teasing Aiden.
Aiden then looked at her with a very obnoxious smile and said, "Me neither. I never thought that I'd be into girls with mermaid colored hair." He's like he's saying to her that he didn't even expect Audrey appearing with such an eye-catching hair color in front of him.
Audrey seemed to get the message and gave him a sarcastic smile.
"Mermaid hair is currently trending right now." A classmate said.
"Yes! I actually wanted my hair to be colored like that but of course our school doesn't allow any bold colors like that."
"Me too I want that color too."
"Are highlights also prohibited?"
"Not sure. But we can ask right?
Audrey thought that the issue will be closed because everyone started talking about hair colors now but someone suddenly brought back the issue to life and asked, "Wait. Does she happened to be the girl that you're looking for?"
"Not…exactly." He replied with a sweet smile.
"What do you mean by 'not exactly?"
"It's hard to explain. I'm just happy now that she agreed to be my girlfriend."
Audrey wanted to ask what does that mean too. He indeed said that he was looking for some girl and it was confusing to think that the girl that he happened to be looking for is his girlfriend…her?!
She thought that her mind just started malfunctioning for she almost thought for a moment that she heard him say that she was the girl that he's been looking for. But they only pretended. What does he really mean by that?
