"E-excuse me? What did you just say?" Audrey asked wanting to confirm if what she heard was right. She already had told herself first hand that Tiffany would definitely ask her some sort of a favor but she was caught way off guard with what she just said.
She thought that she would just simply ask her to like help her make him talk to her or help her set him up for a date or something way closer to that, but having asked to do something so outrageous is way beyond her control.
"Please I know I'm somehow being selfish right now. If I don't give it a try, one last time, I won't know. Audrey, I've been in love with him for five years now. Do you know how it feels to just keep your feelings all to yourself for that long?"
"…no." She said almost in a whisper.
"I only have mustered enough courage to face him headstrong. I know I may sound stupid after having known that he might despise me already after the stunt that he pulled last time, but I only have one week left. He's always so kind to me. I don't know why he made me think that he's not that interested in me. Maybe he really doesn't see me the way I see him or maybe he's trying to push me away because he's afraid that his parents won't like me at all. Yes, my family and his' were friends but I don't really have a strong family background like him."
"He is Aiden Wang."
"Exactly. . He's almost out of my reach but if I don't try to fight for my own feelings, I will regret it all my life. So please Audrey? Will you help me out?"
After Audrey heard this side of Tiffany, it made her contemplate that she is in no position in saying no because she's just Aiden's friend. She doesn't even know anything about him aside from the things she's seen over the internet. She may not know nothing about loving someone that long but it must feel really lonely.
Still thinking whether she's going lend a helping hand on to Tiffany, she was caught off guard again. Tiffany asked, "You don't perhaps like him, don't you?"
"No! He's just...a friend to me." She immediately said.
But after saying 'no' it made her wonder if the unusual feeling of distress that she's been feeling whenever she thought of Aiden is indeed a 'lik'e or just some simple 'admiration'. Friend? Maybe that's it. He's just another friend of hers just like Audrey. But why does she seem so conflicted with it?
"Great! I thought for a moment that you like him too. So, will you help me out?"
Audrey looked at her and saw her beaming smile waiting for a positive response. She thought that she lacks enough reason and conviction to say no. So, she said, "Yes."
After having such a conversation with Tiffany, she went to the library. She saw her leave for she said she still needed to go meet her manager for a photoshoot near the area. After having to return the book that she borrowed, she sat at the farthest corner of the room trying to contemplate with the decision she just made as she stares blankly at space.
She thought for a moment that she made a huge mistake by agreeing on helping out Tiffany She even had no clue on how to make someone fall in love in just one week! This is crazy! Thinking that she needed to make Aiden fall for her is like barking on the wrong tree, totally misleading.
"Why so serious?"
She felt like someone just spoke besides her but she's just so preoccupied on thinking on how she might pull a trick out on helping Tiffany. She looked like the type to not give up till she was being told to stop. She felt her persuasion pass though her like a solid slate of answered prayer. She was her hope.
"Are you okay? Are you perhaps sick?"
Perplexed, Audrey felt a hand on her forehead as if trying to check her temperature out. She slowly looked at who touched her. Almost unresponsive, she stared for a couple of seconds before realizing that the person sitting besides her is. "Aiden??"
"Woah. What's with that surprised look? Weren't we supposed to meet here? Today? Remember?"
"Ah…" She smiled slyly remembering that she indeed asked him to come because she needed to ask about what book he used as a reference for his report yesterday during class. She then said, "Sorry. I was thinking about something outrageous for a moment."
"Really? Tell me about it. Maybe I can help."
Audrey sighed heavily and gazed at the curious Aiden and asked, "How do you make someone fall in love with just in just one week?"
Aiden was surprised. He can't believe that he was being asked by her with such a question. He rubbed his eyes confirming if it really was Audrey who is asking him that, and it was really no other than her. He was confused so he asked, "What's with the question? Are you trying to make someone fall in love in one week?"
"W-what? N-no!" She said as she averted her gaze from him.
Her answer was very much obvious that she's trying to hide something. Aiden gave a mocking smile. He decided that he'll play along as he tries to find out what is going on. He knew that she wasn't really good at lying. She tends to avoid people's gaze whenever she lies just like what she did earlier.
He then said, "Before I answer your question try talking mildly or else, we'll both be kicked out of the library."
"Ow, y-yeah. Sorry. So, do you know how?"
"If you wanted to make someone fall in love in just a week, you need to know the likes of that person. Like what kind of girl, the person likes."
"Ah, I see. If you were being asked, what kind of girl do you like?"
Aiden's suspicion was correct. Someone must be trying to manipulate her for being too kind. She must have thought that helping others might do good, just like…before.
He then looked back at her seriously and said, "I like a girl like…"
"Like?"
"You."
