It feels surreal, as if you're being hypnotized. Audrey's consciousness seemed to have drifted away. Though she was supposed to feel nervous after being asked by such a question, she was spellbound.
She felt Aiden's hands slowly enclosed the features of her face. His hands were warm and big. His eyes were full of passion at that very moment. It's making her feel hot for some reason. She saw his gaze went down towards her lips. Her heart beats like crazy as if it's echoing a distinct sound. He traced her lips with his thumb and making it look like he's entranced with it.
Aiden tilted his head forward, wanting to do something he had always want to. Maybe his cup had begun to overflow, that he couldn't keep any of his emotions at bay anymore. As his face was getting nearer, he was perplexed about a sudden sound of the door being opened abruptly followed by an almost piercing voice.
"OMG Audrey! I should have stayed! I shouldn't have left! You're my only best friend! And I… Are you okay? Why do you look like…ooops my bad." Kylie said as she noticed that she must have entered the room at a wrong timing. She saw Aiden sitting at the farthest corner of Audrey's bed with his hand covering half of his face looking embarrassed while Audrey was flushed red looking disturbed.
So, she added, "Did I disturb something?"
Asking the wrong question, Audrey said in impulse, "Yes! I mean…no!!! Err. Uhm…I was just shocked that someone suddenly called out my name as if I'm dying."
Aiden gave a small laugh after hearing Audrey panicking.
"You really are not good at lying Gummy Bear." Kylie said as she walks towards the chair besides the bed and sat on it.
"Please, I already know that it's not my forte."
"Yes. Looking at the two of you, it's almost like you were about to kiss."
"S-stop! Stop being a psychic!"
"Did I just see it correctly?"
"If you are just here to tease me endlessly leave me alone for a while, I'm currently sulking." Audrey said as she pulled her blanket and hid under it.
"Haha. Okay. Sorry, you're just so cute." Kylie laughed. She tried taking off her covers but she's refusing of handling them to her. She then asked, "May I know what you are sulking for?"
"Please don't ask me. My head really aches right now." Audrey said, hoping that she'll just disappear out of shame right now.
"Okay. I'll ask Aiden here." Kylie looked at Aiden and said, "Princess here doesn't want to talk. She looks really guilty about something…aside from that kiss."
"Kylie!" Audrey screamed her name as she remained sulked up under the sheets.
"Okay. Okay. I'll ask in a proper manned your highness." She told Audrey. She then looked back at Aiden who seemed to be ready to answer question.
"I was betrayed." Aiden replied sadly.
"What happened?!"
"Apparently, it seemed she sold me out to Tiffany."
"Tiffany? As in TIFFANY MILLER?" Kylie replied surprised. She then forcefully took off Audrey's sheets away and told her, "When did you become friends with HER???"
"Uhm…yesterday? I think?"
"And you sold the School Prince to her just like that?"
"What school prince?" Audrey asked as she sit properly. She then took a pillow and embraced it.
Kylie turned her head from left to right as she couldn't believe that she's friends with someone who is as dense as Audrey. "Gosh Audrey. It's Aiden! Please! Oh gosh, you're seriously left behind with what our whole school is currently talking about."
"Okay fine. Can we please not talk about him as if he's not just besides us?" Audrey replied.
"Don't worry about me. I'm still just sullen over the fact that you…betrayed me." He replied looking away from Audrey. It then made her guiltier.
"I demand an explanation!" Kylie insisted as she cupped Audrey's cheeks with both of her hands as if squishing her.
"Okay, okay. Please stop squishing me." Audrey then paused for a moment then started telling how it all begun; from how she met Tiffany and how she was dragged up till how she asked her to something unexpected.
After telling everything that had happened, Kylie looked flabbergasted. She then said to Audrey, "This is so wrong. Though it might be her last chance, you shouldn't have agreed like that. And though to you she may sound convincing, you should have thought about how Aiden would feel about it."
"I…know. And I regret it completely." Audrey replied as she gritted her teeth. Her head begins to ache again the more she thinks about it.
"Don't scold her so much. She just wanted to help out. That's why."
Kylie looked surprised at how Aiden took the situation in. So, she asked, "Shouldn't you be mad at her?"
"I know. But I can't…I shouldn't. And besides, I believe Audrey became sick thinking about what she has done. It's already too much of a compensation."
"You're such an angel you know?"
"You're mistaken. I'm no angel. I'm more of a…devil." He said looking back at her fiercely.
"Aiden." Audrey said murmuring his name. She saw him look at her immediately but she looked down, refusing the serious gaze his giving her.
"I should buy something. I guess you two must be hungry for you almost looked like you're about to eat each other out any moment."
"Please Kylie not now." Audrey said telling Kylie to stop with her teasing for the moment.
"Okay. I'm really going to buy some food now." Kylie then left the room.
The atmosphere started getting intense the moment Audrey and Aiden heard the door close. Audrey then took the opportunity to apologize about what she's done.
"I'm sorry…Aiden." She said apologetically.
Aiden stood up and sat besides her again, but this time he's just facing the wall. He refused looking back at her because he's so conflicted about what he should feel right now.
Should he feel happy that he's finally alone with her again? Should he feel glad that she apologized? Should he be angry just like what Kylie said? Or should he feel sad for it hurts thinking that the person he loves had betrayed him?
