Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Misleading Message

Thursday morning. Once you are sick, you wouldn't really get to appreciate your rest day that much. Aside from resting and drinking medicine, you can't do anything else if you wanted to get better soon.

Levi is strictly checking Audrey's medicine schedule so that she wouldn't miss drinking it on time. He knows that his sister does not like stuff like this so he calls her every now and then from school making sure that she's being obedient.

"Please brother you don't need to call me every now and then. I'm feeling better now." Audrey complained as she pressed her phone on to speaker mode.

"Don't dare try to hide your medicine under your pillow."

Audrey used to do that before. She usually has panic attacks before due to the accident. Sometimes she'll suddenly feel an intense fear that'll usually give her an intense chest pain. It comes into different forms, from different scenarios. Sometimes she'll get a high fever just from it. Due to this, she had taken lots of medications before. She always complained about the tangy taste of some medicine and that is why she usually hid it under her pillow.

"I know! Geez. I'm not a kid anymore. And besides, that medicine was way too bitter for me. It tasted like a rotten bitter gourd."

"Have you eaten a rotten bitter gourd?"

"Not yet. But I'm pretty sure that that's what it tastes like! I don't like tangy flavors. And the smell! Eww!"

"Since you're being talkative now, I guess you're really getting better now but it doesn't mean that you will go outdoors!"

"But I…!

"No buts! If I found out that you went out of the house, I'll make you wash the dishes for the whole month!"

"Gosh you're so awful. I wonder why there are still girls who sent you love letters though they knew how much of a grumpy person you are."

"I guess they really have a good taste in men then."

"Your confidence sometimes is really out of reach."

"Our class is about to start. I'll call you later." He then hanged up.

Audrey looked at the time on her phone and saw that it's just 8 o'clock in the morning. She did promise to see Tiffany to help her get a dress for her date later but she's stocked up in her room. She even feels tardy about picking up a dress for her.

Just thinking about how Tiffany will react if she said that she can't help her out with her dress, her phone suddenly rang loudly. Audrey was so perplexed that she dropped her phone on her bed. As expected, it was Tiffany.

"Hey Tiffany."

"Audrey dear! How are you feeling today? Are you okay now?"

"Yeah. I'm feeling better. Thanks for asking."

"Well…I'm really nervous about later. I tried picking out some clothes from my luggage but it just doesn't seem to fit me well!"

"Any clothes will fit you. You're pretty plus you're sexy. And besides, you're a model. Any clothes will surely look good in you."

"Aw, thanks Audrey. But really, I don't know what to wear. So…can you please help me out? It's such a struggle being a girl after all."

Audrey looked at the time again on her phone and saw that if she will leave early and return early her brother won't suspect that she even left. And to add to that, she's also feeling bored doing nothing but rest.

Helping Tiffany pick her clothes wouldn't be that bad. It then reminded her of Aiden. The way they parted last time was bothering her. It made her feel that there was huge misunderstanding that occurred between the two of them. It's making her uncomfortable.

She wanted to call him up or text him and ask how he is but, she don't want to be too clingy to him. She noted to herself that she's not his girlfriend or anything so no need to overreact. She hopes that by the time they meet up at school on Monday everything will return to normal just like the way it was before.

Realizing that she should just really get out of her room to have some fun herself she told Tiffany, "What time is your date? Let's meet up."

An hour later, Audrey met Tiffany in front of a famous boutique. She immediately saw her as she waves her hand at her.

"Audrey here."

Audrey walked towards her and saw how beautiful she already looked. Her make-up is light which is good. She is wearing a haltering tank top under her checkered vest. It's also obvious that she's wearing a push up bra underneath because she's showing a lot of her cleavage today. Her black skinny pants also match her outfit a lot. She's even wearing a 5-inch black high heel ankle boots. But thinking that if she's going to wear it at a date, it would be too much revealing for Aiden.

"Tiffany, you look gorgeous. Is this what you plan on wearing later?"

"Yeah, but I'm not sure."

"Can I tell you my honest opinion?" She felt the need to tell her what she thinks. She doesn't want her to look like she's trying hard to get him specially if it's her first date with him.

"Definitely."

"Okay. So here goes. It looked great if you are not going on your first date with Aiden. But I think he prefers something more comfortable looking. And those heels, please you don't want to get blisters after your date."

"Really?" She looked at her overall attire at the glass just right outside of the boutique that's reflecting her image.

"Yes, really."

"Aw, thank you! I really am right to have you meet you up before we meet!" Tiffany embraced her with relief. She's really thankful for Audrey's help.

They then went inside the boutique and started picking out some clothes and shoes. Just as Audrey roam around the store to look for something nice for Tiffany, she received a text.

She was so nervous that it might be her brother. But when she checked out who it was from, her heart started beating fast. It made her feel like she was caught in the act doing something improper.

"Audrey, how are you feeling now? Are you still sick?" It's Aiden.

She wanted to tell her how she felt when he left so she typed, "I'm feeling better but, the way you left last time bothered me. A lot! I know I did something wrong. I wanted to explain myself but words won't just come out. I was so worried that you are mad at me. And I'm so afraid that when I see you again, you'll start avoiding me. I really am sorry. But I don't want you to think that I'm overreacting or anything because I might sound like a possessive girlfriend or something because I am so worried. But actually, I miss you. I miss Kylie too but…I don't know. It feels strange."

Before she continued typing her message up, she paused for a moment and re-read it and saw that it sounded wrong. When she decided to delete it, she was called by Tiffany.

"Audrey, come take a look at this."

"Okay."

But when she looked at her phone to see if she had deleted what she typed, she was so perplexed to see that she sent it all instead. She almost dropped her phone with shock. She then hastily readied another message to say that it wasn't really what it sounded like but she was too late. She received a fast reply.

"That was interesting. I was just thinking that you might hate me now. I can never hate you. Hmm, I never thought that you would want to be my girlfriend for real. Don't worry I miss you too. <3"
