Chapter 70 - Obvious Clues

Audrey woke up real good for she woke up hearing Aiden's voice. He called as promised and said that he's about to go back to the hotel that he's staying that he just greeted and chatted with tons of people at the party. He said he'll call later to tell her the details about it.

Hyped to hear his voice early in the morning, she then went to school in such a good mood. She was even humming some random happy tune that it also gives Kylie some good vibes. But it was about to be cut short.

It was to be expected. Since Audrey didn't pay attention to the letters that she received yesterday, more have appeared. Her locker that she has almost forgotten that existed contains four letters and there seemed to be more lying on top of her table inside their classroom.

There was something else on her table but she's not sure of what it is. She was immediately stopped by her dear friend halting her from taking a step further for she also knows that this doesn't look good.

Kylie was alarmed by it considering seeing a pile of paper and envelope laying openly that doesn't look like they're confession letters for Levi or Aiden, there seemed to be a small suspicious looking box with a dainty looking red ribbon on top of it. And what's more skeptical about it is that it must contains something alive inside because it looks like something from the inside is jumping and is trying to get out.

"Audrey step back." She said in a serious manner as she hold Audrey by the arm.

"Oh gosh Kylie that box."

"I know." She took her phone out and took a quick picture of it. "Someone is definitely trying to play tricks on you."

"Cowards."

"Yeah." Kylie looked at their classmates who looked terrified as they stare at the box and asked, "Did anyone see who put all of these letters here especially this box?" She pointed the box.

"No."

"Sorry Kylie no."

"It was already there when I arrived."

"I was the first to come but it was indeed already there when I came."

The rest of their classmates said the same. No one had seen anyone put anything at Audrey's table. But it doesn't mean that everything that is on top of Audrey's table just magically appeared without anyone putting anything on it. Someone should be liable.

Kylie then bravely took the box by slowly lifting it and felt that it was a little heavier that she expected it to be. As she puts it in her palm, she felt something inside moved. She's now pretty sure that something alive is inside.

"Kylie bear careful!"

"Don't worry. I don't think anything poisonous could fit inside…" She said as she took a quick peek and immediately closed it upon seeing what's on the inside.

"What?? What does it contain?!"

"Well…"

"What's the ruckus all about?" It's Angela with her grumpy self.

Some replied to her inquiry and said putting out specifically that there is something suspicious inside the box the Kylie is holding. She then looked at it but somehow she doesn't look surprised now terrified by it.

"Angela, do you know who put this here?" Kylie asked as she look at her bewildered.

"How would I know? I just arrived."

"Really?"

"My clothes are even so wet for I needed to run from the parking lot up to here for I've forgotten my umbrella. I'm almost drenched if you can't see."

"Hmm." She looked from head to toe. And saw that her clothes were indeed a little wet and so does her hair but something didn't add up. When she looked at Angela's shoes they're not wet at all. They actually really dry.

She then sneered as she cracks up a quick smile mocking Angela and said before she left the room, "I wonder. How were you able to keep your shoes dry and had your clothes all wet while running out in the rain?"

"I wiped them off of course before going here. What are you implying?" She nervously said as she noticed that some were looking at her with distrust.

"Oh I wasn't implying on to anything. I just wondered how you did it."

Angela was enraged. She felt that she was somehow disgraced in public and it seriously irritates her. Some told her that Kylie would have mistaken her for she just arrived and sought some sympathy from their classmates but some didn't buy it.

Kylie on the other hand went downstairs. She looked for the nearest bushes near their building and there she opened the box and set the poor animal free.

"There you go. I'm really sorry to have you be involved. Go home to your family now. Don't worry you'll be okay now." She said as she saw the small poor frog slowly leaping from one place to another.

When their classes ended, Kylie without delay had Audrey spill up everything she knew about what is happening and that is when she knew that her doubts were correct.

"Oh my Audrey." She embraced Audrey and asked, "Are you okay??"

"I'm fine. I'm not affected by any of it though. I already prepared myself for any of this and this is just a child's play."

She moved back to take a good look at her to see if she really is okay because she always tends to hide what she really feels for she don't like worrying others. She stared at her in the eye without saying a word as she tries to analyze her.

"What is it?"

"You are directly looking at me in the eye."

"Ugh yes? Because you are looking at me straight in the eye? Where else would you want me to look?" She asked wondering.

"Okay fine. I believe you."

"I'm telling the truth anyways."

"This must be Angela's doing."

"Actually I also think that too. But I don't think that it's just her."

"You mean that someone else is targeting you?"

Audrey was silenced. She took the letters that she got since yesterday and laid them all at the table. She's glad though that there's no one else around for they are inside one of the empty classrooms.

"Look." She said as she grouped them and pointed the letters out one by one. "There seemed to be a pattern, a common denominator. These seemed to have come from the same person because the handwriting is the same. While these were printed out using the same type of bond paper. And these looked like something from a serial killer movie because of the letters that were all cut out from a magazine."

With things slowly getting out of hand, Audrey never expected that something grave might happen the soonest. What she thought was only a child's play will turn into something real dangerous especially now that she knew who her enemies are.
