Running, panting, gasping. Time clicking and ticking. Every second matters. She ran fast hoping at every obstacle trying to trip her way. She grabbed the pole at the corner and used it to maneuver herself without decreasing her speed. When she saw that she's almost there, she used both of her hands to lift herself up at the barrier in front of her avoiding the treacherous gap beneath her. When she reached the end, she then screamed in success.
"Yes! I'm not late!"
"Great. I was about to send out a search party just for you."
"We both have cellphones. You could have called me if you were worried, my grumpy brother." Audrey went towards the kitchen where she saw the Levi is cooking a pork stew. It smells nice. She took a spoon and scooped a little from the pot and tasted it.
"Hey it's not yet done!" Levi said, scolding Audrey.
"But it's already delicious."
"If you don't want to eat anything raw, go and prepare the table."
Audrey politely followed her brother and readied the dining table. While arranging the plates she said, "You know, you should go and get a girlfriend. I bet she'll love your cooking. And besides cooking you're almost good at everything."
"What do you mean by 'almost'?"
"'Almost' because you really should know how to control you temper. You'll grow wrinkles on your face fast."
"I don't need to get a girlfriend so no need to worry about that."
"Do you want to grow old and die alone???"
Levi looked at her unconvinced and said, "I won't be alone. I have you with me. You're all I need."
"You should say stuff like that to your girlfriend! Geez!" Audrey flopped down on the chair. She's used on hearing crazy lines like that from her brother. It wasn't anything new to her. She sometimes thought that if she weren't his sister, she would have assumed that he's flirting with her.
It then recalled her about what happened last year. So, she said, "I don't even get it why you're so choosy. I can't even remember how many girls have asked me to hand their letters to you!"
"Stop being their messenger then!" Levi sighed in defeat and thought that this conversation won't go anywhere.
Levius Gray, one of the school's famous heartthrob who is also very well known for making girls cry. Though he is known to be very moody, most girls find it handsomely attractive. He earned his black belt in karate when he was 10 y/o. Ever since then, he continued practicing martial arts that he already gained five golden medals alone from competing overseas. There was actually a rumor about him rejecting the offer of being one of the country's representative at the last years' Summer Olympics.
Audrey and Levi prayed before eating. Ever since the accident that happened to Audrey seven years ago, she has always been thankful because she believe that lucky enough to have survived the dreadful fire that almost killed her.
After eating, she helped wash the dishes and went straight to her room afterwards. She took Kyle's letter inside her backpack, opened it, sat beside her bed and started reading.
It says:
"It's me again, Kyle, Today is your first day, right? Don't tell me that you were late again? How did your first day go? I'll definitely tell you what happened with mine the next time I write to you again. By the way, have you seen the photo that I've sent?"
Audrey took out the photo inside the envelope and saw a beautiful array of flower garden. She smiled looking how beautiful they were. She also saw her favorite flower were among them. She then continued reading.
"I went to his garden and saw a beautiful sea of flowers. Then I saw a path leading somewhere deep in the area and it led me there. There were so many gorgeous looking flowers that I've just only seen inside the books. There were so many that I'm glad that I can recognize one of them. They're you're favorite flowers, Sweet Juliet. I immediately noticed it's beautiful glowing apricot color among the others and its attractive formation of rosettes gathered as one is amazingly stunning. I'm not good at describing things but I know you get my point. I wanted to pick and send some for you but I bet that whoever the owner of this place will surely be furious."
"Anyways, my crazy sister Mia found herself a boyfriend! She even told me that herself. I guess someone had a death wish. She said that she'll introduce him to us this coming weekend. I can't wait to meet him. I wonder what kind of person is he. By the way how's Levi? If I didn't migrate, we could've been classmates. Is he still single? Tell him that he should start try dating. I bet that though I've sent you a number of letters already, the number of the girls that he'd always left crying is still high."
Audrey gave a small laugh because she thought about the thing same earlier. She continued reading. But when she read the next line it suddenly reminded her of the incident earlier in the library.
"How about you? When are you getting a boyfriend? Before you do tell me what kind of person he is and send me a photo of him! I'll background check him to make sure that he's a nice guy. I'm sure that Levi would even challenge him at a duel. If I'm there I would do that too. I need to know if he can protect you and catch you every time you became clumsy."
It was indeed some fall that she made earlier. Audrey can actually still smell his perfume that seemed to have been embedded on her when he caught her. She started smiling thoughtlessly as she finished reading Kyle's letter realizing that what happened is kind of romantic. She just hope now that Aiden is indeed a good a person.
