Luvuno urged her to have an early rest. She also went to her room to sleep. Before, putting the phone away, she got a call from Priscilla. She couldn't help but wonder on the reason she would, anyway she answered the call.
"Luv, why didn't you tell me on your relocation or do you still hold a grudge with the Daniel affair."
"I figured you would be busy on your business and I didn't want to inconvenience you."
"Oh…..no problem, I would have loved to help even though I'm stamped with work. Next time, you can just inform me and I would see if I can make out some time. Can you send me your address so ia can prepare a housewarming gift."
Luvuno had an instinctual feeling that the purpose of the call was to only get her new address. Though she didn't have proof, she felt giving out her new address will do more harm than good. She needed to come out with a reason to hide her address. After a quick thinking, she came up with an idea.
"I'm actually leaving with Bahati currently, I'm still searching for a new place."
"That's a pity then, inform me when you get a new apartment so I can pick out a housewarming gift."
"Will sure do."
Luvuno had recently develop a habit of deep reflections before she slept. She felt it was therapeutical to her and helped her cope with her current predicaments. She felt she was whirled in a huge conspiracy and didn't know how to extricate himself from it. She decided not to worry much about it as she couldn't even do anything about and it was even just a feeling. She had an appointment with thhe Doctor the next day about the health of her baby. She had tried to improve her diet but still she was worried that she hadn't done enough. She planned to go with Bahati for the check up and she would catch her up on her developments of what happened on the day. She drifted to sleep soon afterwards.
…..
She woke up to morning rays of the sun which was a contrast to her former apartment. Her bedroom window was directly facing the morning sun and she had forgotten to close the curtain the previous night. She had a made a beautiful mistake and she felt it was a good start. It was also symbolical to her pregnancy that she didn't plan about. She sent a text to Bahati to meet up at the Bomu hospital and explained the outs and about of everything.
She waddled through her morning routine and made a simple breakfast. She didn't forget to take some fruits as was advised by the Doctor. In no time, she was done and ordered for a ride to the hospital. She had worn a simple and casual dress. She scrolled through social media and lamented on the alarming increase of the economy. In half an hour, she reached her destination. she was astonished to find Bahati already waiting for her. Bahati informed her she was excited for the appointment and couldn't wait but rush up. They warmly exchanged greetings and Luvuno fished out her medical registration details. She provided them to the reception and was promptly directed to wait on the queue. She found young mothers with a pregnancy that had reached the trimester period. To pass time, Luvuno started by explaining all her activities for yesterday. She talked of how impressed she was with her new apartment.
Bahati took over and explained how she had managed to contact the private detective, John. She complained of his high fees but the silver lining was that he only received payments after obtaining relevant information. She said her lawyer friend had acquiesced to help them and she had to go on a date with him .when she finished talking, she already had a tinge of red and was blushing .the guy's name is kelvin. The detective had asked for six months and would only contact us and not the other way round. This he claimed was to ensure his safety as sometimes the information he came to obtain was like a hot potato and would land the less powerful in trouble he had thus incorporated it into his work ethics.
How time flies, an hour had passed and it was now their turn to meet the Doctor. This was a Doctor arranged by the female Doctor who took care of her in the hospital. She had also personally made the appointments and urged her to adhere to it.
The Doctor's office was a feats to the eyes in terms of serenity. It had the ambience that seemed to whisper that everything would turn out right. She saw a plaque on the table in front of a middle aged woman wearing a hijab. It read Doctor Tamara.
"I believe you are the one pregnant" she pointed at Luvuno
Bahati and Luvuno were shocked. Luvuno had maintained herself well and the pregnancy was at its earlier stages and thus had to notice she was expecting. Bahati had a well-proportioned body that slightly inclined to being curvy thereby making a mistake.
"Don't be shocked, I've been in this profession for years if I didn't have this skill then as I might as well resign."
She took a number of tests ranging from taking her weight to urine and blood sample. The screening machine was high tech and in half an hour results came in, she was healthy but she advised increasing the intake of water and veggies to fruits. She also advised if possible to ensure that I have company at home.
She gave me a green sign and informed me to come at the hospital whenever a slight discomfort arises. She scheduled me for periodic checkups. The duo the left the office relived.
