Chapter 6 - It begins

Hazel Evertwigh

My strength was inferior in front of this being with true Godlike power, this man Whisper, was truly terrifying. I couldn't even stand my own against him and yet Eden was on his feet standing tall, I could hear his heart and it wouldn't stop beating, his arms trembled slightly, I could tell he was afraid as well and yet he chose to be strong for my sake. When he embraced me earlier, I felt protected, he has always made sure I was safe, he always put my needs before his own, he has always been so smart and calm.

Whenever we got into a bad situation he always got us out of trouble. But I don't think we'll be getting out of this alive, my face darkened as despair creeped into my heart, the situation felt hopeless and I gave up.

"Hazel. It's going to be okay." He said this while holding me by my arms and then he helped me stand straight, I looked into those silver eyes of his and felt safe yet again, I couldn't let my fear control me. I couldn't let the despair win; I will be strong, just like Eden.

Whisper stood silently by and watched Eden calm me down. "We should get going now!" He abruptly exclaimed and began to conjure a cloud of darkness out of thin air, he was molding it into a creature of sorts. The control he had of fortsia was un-like anything I've ever witnessed it didn't even look natural, I was taken aback at it, the creature he created out of his own fortsia was a wyvern.

He made such a feet look like child's play, I was out of words and so I gazed over at Eden to see his reaction, his expression was one I have never seen on his face, it was of pure loathing. I noticed he kept his gaze on whisper and it never wavered.

Eden

As I watched whisper conjure a wyvern out of his fortsia, I couldn't help but admire his strength. I despise him with all of my being but can't help that I admired him for strength, honestly I couldn't believe myself, I was disgusted with myself. With a frown on my face I asked him, "How exactly do you plan on reading the map if it's my mind?" my voice laced with slight arrogance. He slightly turned his head and gestured us to get on the wyvern, "Come sit up front with me kid, by the way I didn't get your names." He said as he chuckled softly, "Hazel Evertwigh, vampire." Hazel said her voice barely above a whisper, she was still a bit shaken up, "Eden, human." I said my voice low.

"No last name Eden?" he asked as I sat down at the base of the wyvern's neck, I shook my head signifying I don't have one.

"What about your father, did he not give you his last name."

"I've never met my parents alright." I said while I turned my gaze elsewhere, he remained silent and the wyvern began to take off.

With a large flap of its wings, some of the trees within the area were blown away, He then grabbed me by my head and began to chant something aloud. I was then immobilized, my mind went numb and the visions started to play out more clearly in my mind.

The book in the library, it told the story of Erebus the Goddess of chaos. Erebus wasn't originally a Goddess of chaos; she subsequently became the Goddess of chaos after she fell in love with a mortal man of this world. Originally Erebus was known as the Goddess of Harmony before the Goddess Matabia, on the other hand the mortal she fell in love with was only taking advantage of her because of she was a Deity.

Matabia was created to become the new Goddess of harmony while Erebus had to become something else, the sting of her fellow God Thornak's rebuke and the betrayal of her so called love left her with nothing but fury and madness. Hence she chose to become 'The Goddess of Chaos'.

Unlike the other Gods Matabia and thornak, Erebus only has one temple left in our world and it was apparently forbidden to go to. And yet that's exactly where we were headed. My body was numb and I had been running through the visions for hours, at least Whisper had been providing us with food and water as we sored through the skies. Whisper was constantly singing foolish songs about mutilating people, his obnoxious voice was making me sick to my stomach.

However, despite the horrible songs, my immobile body and the psychopath threatening our lives, the stars that filled the sky were absolutely breath taking.

"YES! I finally found it!" Whisper yelled in amusement and broke out into an uncontrollable laughter. "Found what you lunatic!" I yelled angrily at him, "I found the map kid and it wasn't easy, your mind has so much about that vampire girl it took a while to cycle through the visions and memories to find it!" my face turned red out of embarrassment as he let out a celebratory laugh. "I'm lucky Hazel isn't awake to hear that." I thought as I shut my eyes.

The wyvern suddenly burst into an even greater speed waking Hazel up as she struggled to hold on to it. "What the hell Whisper!!!" I cried out in a frustrated anger, "We're close to the temple kid! Hold on!" he yelled out barley able to contain his excitement.

"Slow down a bit!" Hazel cried out as she struggled to hold on to the base of the wyvern's tail. The wyvern eased up on its acceleration, "Sorry about that Hazel, I got a little too excited." Remarks Whisper. "we'll be there in three hours." He then let go of his grip on my head and I regained control of my body again, but I was mentally fatigued and couldn't maintain consciousness.

My eyes grew heavy and I fell asleep.
