Chapter 4 - The Boy Called Edgar

Episode 4

Years have gone by since Edgar caught up with what had happened to him, now it was ten years later which meant that over the decade. He has grown, adjusted and got familiar with him new life and family.

A young boy with snowy-white hair, his eyes crystal clear water. He was sitting alone and waiting in a big room, in the stone age, mediaeval castle.

He was waiting by the door, waiting anxiously. Staring at the old wooden door.

"Where the hell is she?" He asked himself.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

A sound of heavy metal approach him, "Please forgive me my Prince I was still preparing for our training session."

The young boy was surprised to see this person who was wearing this; a heavy suit of silver armour, holding a sword, and shield.

The person stood still and just stared at the face of the young boy who clearly had so many questions but didn't know, how to ask or even know where to begin.

This person lifts up the visor that covered her face, upon revelation this was none other than Melanie; the servant.

"Why the hell are you in that?!" The boy asked with so many questions in mind.

Melanie chuckles, "Just go in will you." Melanie gave him an order.

The boy signs and rolls his eyes like he was saying fine, it was no secret that he definitely didn't want to be here. He'd rather be somewhere else who knows where.

They entered the room and it was as big as any room in the castle; was typically made of cold grey stone, giving the armory a somber and serious atmosphere.

"This place gives me the creeps." The boy commented feeling uneasy and restless.

"Why? Because all of this shouldn't scare you even one bit." said Melanie.

"Why, is it because I'm the prince of the Matter House?" The boy not really convinced.

"As much as that is true, but no... They shouldn't scare you because your name is Edgar Anos Matter, the prince." Melanie tried to cheer him up.

Obviously, Edgar wasn't touched or moved by the outstanding compliment that came from Melanie.

"So why are we here today? What's so special about this room?" Edgar scanning the cold armory.

"Well I'm glad that you asked, as you know that your powers are manifesting in abnormal speed. Yet, again though you are the strongest kid alive something is limiting you." Melanie sets down her weapons.

The place that Edgar and Melanie were in, was none other than the House of Matter armory. The chamber where armour of knights displayed.

Apart from the disturbing and ominous knights that were just statues, but Edgar felt like they were always watching his every move.

The knights were standing in their wooden armour stands, that held them in a row.

After so many years of being the 'son of the House of Matter' Edgar was now accustomed to the training and preparation that was instilled on him.

And he has fully accepted the fact that he really did die, and got reincarnated into a fantasy world thou he couldn't quite remember very well on how he died or even why was he reincarnated here.

Edgar was reincarnated in the same novel book that he and his other world mother would read every night before he went to bed, but there was a twist in this side of the novel.

He wasn't born into the protagonist family, nope; he was actually born in the antagonist family which meant that he was the villain.

For time and time again, years and years passing he was taught how special he was and what role was he destined to play for, one time he was five years. Edgar was taken to see the Oracle who prophesied that Edgar was meant for more than being the one who will save the Matter legacy.

He was meant for something completely different, that was never revealed, cause of something that lied deep within Edgar's soul. Something that blocked the Oracle from seeing the truth.

Then again still as the most powerful villain child, he wasn't allowed to have friends or meet other villain kids. In simple short terms Edgar was actually a secret to the outside world.

As his family was known not to be able to reproduce their own bloodline, known as the house that it's children were created and born out of dark magic called the Devil's Spawn.

Yes, as shocking as it sounded there was a devil in this world too, meaning that also there was a god.

Over the years, Edgar was taught so many things by only three people who were the only ones allowed to get close him which was; Ursula his mother, Melanie his servant, and Leviticus his personal butler.

Prince Edgar of the House of Matter had excelled in so many things from academically, fighting, and magic talent.

Today was no difference, it was the day of his other training. Indeed Edgar was one of the most powerful child in the whole world, he still lacked some few things, hindering his own growth.

The problem with him was that he could perform and do unimaginable powerful spells, kind of spells that would take any normal wizard or warlord ages to learn those spells. If not possibly their lifetime.

To Edgar all that was something impossible to him, when he was just three years of age, when he lost his favourite toy. He literally burned down the whole castle, and when he was five; he put his own mother into a coma after having an argument with her and in a heated moment he wished she would sleep and never wake up again.

So many things happened around Edgar, which was one of the main reason he was isolated from the rest of the world; once he sent one of his teachers to the demon realm, still now they haven't found her.

"So what type of magic are we focusing on today?" Edgar curious.

"Well today I want us to work on your beyond eye sight." Melanie informed him.

"Huh?" Edgar not sure if he even understands.

"I'm going to summon few of my friends and they are all going to look like me and I want you to use your beyond sight to find the real me" Melanie takes off her helmet.

"Okay, that seems like a child's play." Edgar getting confident in himself.

Melanie chuckles, "I like your confidence so why don't we start." Melanie closes her eyes then opens them again and they have changed into burning fiery purple.

"Knights of the House of Matter, borrow me your bodies and allow my friends to cross over to our world, because I need them." She cursed.

Whoosh

Something was happening on the knights displayed in the armory, dark aura energy filled them like something possessing them and they became alive. Marched to Melanie and stood around her.

The training proved itself to be easier according to Edgar, as he saw where Melanie was standing while the knights surrounded her. But he was in for a surprise.

Eeeeeee

A high pitched ringing and flashing sound appeared hurting Edgar's ears and eyes, and he lost sight on Melanie and the knights. Melanie and her knights phased and shifted places.

It stopped and the aftermath was unbearable.

Edgar walked towards Melanie and the knights, and pin pointed where Melanie was standing.

"You really think I wouldn't be able to find you?" Talking to the knight behind in the centre.

The knight walked towards Edgar and just stared at him, right before it punched him. Sending him back where he was.

"Ouch! What the hell?!" Edgar feeling so much pain.

"Oh right, I forgot to tell you if you chose the wrong one you will get hit."

"Man you are such a." Edgar gets right up still touching his stomach.

Edgar tried again, but he was wrong again and this time he wasn't punched in the gut, he was punched in his nose.

Sending him right back where he was.

"Seriously?" Nursing his nose.

Giving up didn't seemed like something he was taught, he walked towards the knights and pointed again.

"There you are next to the one on the left." Looking at the knight that was standing on the second row, second last knight.

The knight walked towards him, as it tried to punch him Edgar dodged out of the way saving himself, but little did he know that him dodging makes matters worse. Because when he dodge out of the way he dodged next to the other knight; that knee kicked him in his gut again and pushed him back where he started.

Feeling that kick something in Edgar just refused to give up easily, so he kept on trying fail after fail getting punched, kicked, and then cut again.

Every time he failed he was sent back where he started.

Really in bad shape, Edgar's face was beaten covered with lumps even coughing blood.

"I think we should call it a day now." Melanie seeing what has become of Edgar.

"No! Don't you dare I'm going to find you and I'm going to finish this!" Edgar using the last of his strength to get up.

Something impossible happened.
