Chapter 7 - The Prophecy

Episode 7

Reflection Edgar slowly walked towards Edgar who was stunned by this outcome happening right before his eyes, this was real and not a dream he so desperately wished it was.

To him he felt like Reflection Edgar was going to do him some harm, so seeing him slowly approaching him did startle him.

"Y-y-you just walked out of the mirror?" Edgar stutters.

"Yes, so?" Reflection Edgar smiling disturbingly.

The broken and shattered million pieces of the mirror were still floating in mid-air.

"How are you here? What are you? What is happening today?" Edgar's questions were the right ones.

Reflection Edgar reached Edgar and he circled around him, studying him.

"So this is the innocent side of me?"

Edgar didn't know what to do in that very moment, this was uncomfortable to him but it wasn't like he was going to say anything. Today was a very strange day even for a magical world.

"Mmmh, I can see you have so many questions. But no I'm not some kind of cheap trick from one of your books." He assures him.

That sent Edgar's mind swirling around, how on earth did this thing know what he was thinking, he knew that he was powerful but he also knew his limits.

So it was impossible for him to have been the one who caused this kind of magic, then he remembered today he did something that he has never done before. That insane power caused someone he deeply cared about to be hurt.

'Remember my dear son, sometimes our magic is too powerful we can manifest it without meaning to, especially for us warlords and witches. We have insane amount of dark power that we draw our magic from'

Edgar then remembered what his mother had told him after their training session, Edgar was fortunate enough to be born powerful and loved by his new mother... Because from the books, anime, mangas, and manhwas he used to watch and read.

Every reincarnated protagonist had a minor problem it was; either they don't have any magic, they are weak and are not loved by anyone, and the most loved story line they had a sibling that was powerful more than them. And occasionally that happened to be their sister.

None of those things were part of Edgar's reincarnation problem, his problem was that he was too powerful still something limited and oppressed his powers.

Nonetheless his mother loved him dearly, maybe it was because he was her only child that she never thought would be possible for him to be born.

He never knew his father, he was never around there wasn't even one single picture of him around the castle. No one dared to speak about him and he never bothered to ask too, he knew what he needed to know.

He was a son of something that was not human, something evil, something that from the book he loved destroyed everything in it's path even his own family.

In short his father was pure evil.

"Wow, you're one interesting kid." Reflection Edgar impressed.

"Why is that?" Edgar asked.

"For someone who hasn't lived in the magic world, you already have the knowledge and intelligence of a foreigner. Which is quite impressive." Reflection Edgar explained.

"But I am a foreigner, I'm not from around here remember." He corrected.

Reflection Edgar laughs, "No you imbecile, a foreigner here means something different... It means that a person born without any magical talent." Reflection Edgar elaborated.

Reflection Edgar stopped walking around Edgar, he admired the room and went to sit on the bed and he just laid down.

"So will you ever tell me who or what you are?" Edgar really looking for an answer to this question.

On the other side of the door, footsteps were ascending walking so slowly each step with precision, walking up the stairs.

Reflection Edgar went silence out of nowhere, the aura of the silence was dreadful, Edgar tried to speak.

"Sorry kid, someone is coming so I'll have to cut our conversation short." Reflection Edgar interrupted him.

Edgar not sure what his reflection was talking about, "what are you on about? There's no one coming."

Edgar's hearing was still a bit damaged thanks to the trick that Melanie did earlier when she swapped places with her knights, so he was useless.

He only discovered that someone was indeed coming when he saw that person's shadow underneath the door.

"Oh damnit, I forgot that my mom sent Leviticus to come for me. Hurry you gotta hide!" Edgar panics.

Just like that Reflection Edgar was nowhere to be found, Edgar looked everywhere but he just couldn't find him. He could have used his beyond sight, but he was afraid after the incident that transpired earlier today.

"But I still don't know who you are!" Edgar says.

Of course, there was no response out of nowhere Edgar found himself trembling, his hands sweating, mouth dry, and his heart racing.

What was causing this? No one knew the room had gone cold like it just reached zero degrees.

Bam

Reflection Edgar was standing right behind him, with his arm around Edgar's neck.

"I already told you who I am, I am you, the real you of this world." He whispered.

Like a record playing backwards Reflection Edgar returned back into the mirror walking backwards, like he was being rewind, he crossed over and the shattered million pieces of mirror were sealed again.

"We'll meet again innocent me." He waved goodbye before disappearing and the mirror was back to normal.

Still stuck on what he just saw, the door opened, "My Prince the Queen asks for your audience." Leviticus called.

Out of shock he jumped, "Oh, hey Leviticus. Do you think I'm in trouble?" Edgar worried.

"I don't know my Prince." Leviticus bowed showing respect.

Right after Edgar exited his room, Leviticus was the one who stayed behind to close it. Something made him uneasy, his hand trembled and a single sweat fell from his head.

When he investigated the mirror had just finished going back to its normal state, so he missed it by a few seconds.

Both Edgar and Leviticus walk in the Great hall.

"Prince Edgar at your presence my Queen." Leviticus announced.

"My boy, why don't you join us." Ursula called Edgar.

"Yes mother." Edgar bowed showing respect.

Edgar walked shamefully to the grand table avoiding making eye contact with Melanie who was looking at him and watched him walk to sit next to his mother.

"Okay the person you requested is now here, so now what?" Ursula's patience running out.

A clanging sound came into light, to Edgar's surprise it was none other than the same famous Oracle that informed him that his power is limited and oppressed.

"Hello Prince Edgar" The Oracle showed respect to the prince.

"Oracle." Edgar showed the same respect back.

The Oracle's voice when near was disturbing, hard to explain it sounded like a rusty gate scraping against concrete. It echoed through the air, making it seemed as if speaking from the depths of a damp, abandoned well.

Her appearance was way worse scary than he voice, she wore a crusted old veil that looked like a sack of potatoes, her hair was a mat of hair that was filthy and tangled.

On her head she had a torn crown that had three eyes, which were all in different colours; red, yellow, and blue. And her dress was a black long robe that touched the ground showing her scaly, and crooked feet.

She walked towards Edgar who was feeling very uncomfortable, from since he was still young the Oracle gave him the hibbie jibbies.

She was began dancing, grunting, growling, and breathing heavily.

"Asemanemane, asemanemane, asemanemane. Yee, asemanemane, asemanemane, asemanemane. Yee." She chanted.

Ursula held Edgar's hand just to make sure that he wasn't getting scared, though it was quite uncertain if she only did that to assure him that he's safe. Or doing it for herself.

Suddenly the room got all dark and dim as if a storm cloud was forming all around, a dark cloud did appear over everyone, covering the heads of everyone who was present.

The Oracle tapped her stick that was bone-like, around it hung different beasts teeth. Her hands were do dry like she died ages ago.

"Asemanemane, asemanemane, asemanemane, asemanemane, asemanemane!" She continued to chant.

The cloud looked like it was getting unstable and out of control, lighting and thunder rumbled around everyone but it was way worse when it came to Edgar, it sent violent behaviour towards him.

The cloud got smaller from everyone else but Edgar who was now the only person with a dark cloud over his head.

On the other hand the Oracle was busy flinching as if she was getting a seizure.

"Asemanemane, asemanemane, asemanemane, asemanemane." She looked up, show me the truth! Show me what I need to know!" She cursed.

Black lighting that had the color of nothing but a black hole void struck her.

"This boy will be the end of us all!" Pointing at Edgar.
