Episode 8
After the unclear and riddle prediction of the Oracle, another incident took place no one was certain what really happened afterwards, because they were all left with many unanswered questions.
What had happened was right after the Oracle pointed at Edgar, after a few short seconds she actually did suffer from a seizure which was a bit strange for a three thousand year old granny. After suffering a seizure she just froze in the same position she was in when pointing her finger at Edgar.
Who was also too young for all this, it didn't matter if he was destined for greatness the matter of fact was Edgar was still a kid, today was really strange think Friday the 13th mixed with St. Patrick's day. A day of bad luck.
The real scary apart about all of this was the way the Oracle froze her eyes were locked and fixated on at Edgar and her old hag finger was locked on him too.
"Oracle?" Ursula checked.
There was no response no indication of any life force, think a wax of a caveman statue that was the Oracle's state.
"Mom!" Edgar now scared.
Ursula didn't waste any time she just did what any mother would do for her child, she just pulled him to her and held on tight, "It's okay sweetie mommy's hear."
Melanie was still fixated on Edgar who saw her looking at him, that put embarrassment and shame on him so he just hid his face.
Leviticus stood up and checked on the Oracle who didn't blink or do anything, Leviticus didn't even do nothing much he just tapped her... Just like that the Oracle fell down.
Stil in her frozen position, Leviticus checked up on her, "My Queen." Leviticus didn't have to say anything else, Ursula already knew what he meant.
"Melanie, take him away." She handed Edgar to Melanie.
Who was really having a hard time to let go of his mother.
"It's okay sweetie, mommy will be with you in a second." She assured him.
Melanie took Edgar's hand and left the Great hall, on their way to Edgar's room. The uncomfortable silence between the two was gruesome, Edgar made sure that he kept his head down and avoided looking at Melanie.
And it wasn't because of her new look that he cause, it was because he felt guilty he just caused his friend her eye sight.
Of course, even Melanie wasn't focused on Edgar either. Maybe because she was trying to find a clear path for herself to walk, but it wasn't like she kept bumping into walls or so. She didn't even have a walking stick, she walked normal.
Finally they reached Edgar's room, he entered and looked at her with sorrow eyes like he wanted to say something. But the words couldn't be expressed or even came out.
It looked like Melanie could sense that Edgar wanted to say something to her by just staring at him.
He closed the door.
What the Oracle said about him wasn't something he didn't expect about himself, he knew very well what she meant and if his new life was going to be exactly like the book. Crazy things like this should be expected.
From what he remembered from the book, a prophecy was decided about the antagonist and the person who proved that prophecy wasn't the Oracle. It was the greatest seer of the whole world.
Osaris was the name of that seer, he was the seer who worked with the protagonist from the book nothing was really explained and told about the antagonist's life. All that was known about him was that he was going to be the end of the world.
From what he could recall the protagonist was a guy called Tomas Rock, normal kid from Brooklyn. Whose name was changed to Tyga Sun the hero of the world who was destined to protect the world against the antagonist.
'He is going to be our saviour' that's what Edgar remember reading from the book.
So Edgar had no choice but to accept his fate and destiny, he was the sole heir of the Matter House... The antagonist family, so he was born for evil that was his story.
Even though it was like that Edgar still hated that idea, he was so desperate to prove them wrong. After all he desired to be the hero of this story; the mighty protagonist who was going to save the world.
Time passed; and Edgar was still desperate for answers what the Oracle prophesied was known to him and he expected that but he believed that, his tale wasn't the full story something was missing. And no matter how many pieces he tried to fill in, and no matter how many riddles he solved it was still the same.
The whole castle was suddenly quiet which was a bit strange for a place with over two hundred servants, how could it be possible that no one even passed and came to check up on him, yes he did find annoying sometimes---but still.
He understood why the other servants never came to check up on him, but what about his own mother who promised to come and check on him. Something was definitely not right.
Worried that maybe something happened he decided to go and see what is happening, opening the door was something easy for him but walking undetected was going to prove hard. Cause he was watched and guarded like a hawk.
So he left he room with steadiness and stealth he was very careful to open his door quietly and not made a sound, he slightly opened it and checked if anyone would see him. To his luck the coast was clear.
A while after walking down the empty hallway and stairs Edgar found himself standing in the Entrance hall; the floors were tiled in colours of; white, black, and purple making the Matter family crest. So in other words he was standing on the letter M.
Funny enough just like the empty hallway same was for the entrance hall, usually it's one of few busiest part of the castle; with servants walking in and out every minute.
Edgar didn't think to put it into his mind that much, he thought maybe the servants were outside harvest in the farm because none were supposed to make any contact with him that was just the way it was for him.
Pure isolation was something he got used too, Edgar at the age he was in right now should have had so many friends, but he didn't even have one. Like his mother, Melanie and Leviticus told him. No one should know about his existence.
As a kid he used to ask a lot 'why?' was that and he'd remember all three of them telling him the same thing over and over again.
'Well it's because some people don't want you to exist, your family is known as one of the powerful mages known as the Death Mages, a group of very powerful mages who are against what other mages believe. So you were cursed not to exist in order to protect your family.' all three said those exact words.
Edgar continued with his exploration in the empty and quiet castle, at first he was very careful busy sneaking around making sure if it were to ever happened that someone did walk by. No one would ever saw him.
After a while he realised that he was being stupid and no one was coming so he just walked around freely, this quiet and emptiness was worrying. How does it happen that a castle as big as this one was this empty. What was really going on?
Edgar searched the whole castle very much detective like, and nothing showed evidence of the where abouts of everyone. So he continued searching.
He had no fortunate luck of finding anything until he walked in his mom's room, which was the last room he checked.
"Mom!" He called. But no one answered.
Edgar really hated coming in his mother's bedroom because of a childhood memory that kinda did scar him for life.
Once upon a time when he was still very much young he was playing with his mother, it was still early in the morning and his mother was still beautifying herself. Unknowingly Edgar sat where his mother was on her lap playing with her things, up until.
His mother caught him off guard and applied her lipstick on him.
Edgar jumped out of his mother's arms and ran out of her room disgusted, he didn't come into her room for months.
Now things were different he was old and he was too curious, one thing everyone hated about him.
He walked in his mother's room calling and searching for her then that's where he saw his mother's shelf that contained her cosmetics and he got closer to it and sat down.
Edgar was busy looking around until he saw the same lipstick that his mother scarred him with just sitting there misplaced.
The lipstick color was red, one color he despised more than anything in the world. It was unknown why he hated that color but he just did.
He took it and looked at it as he remembered the good old times, yes the memory was something he wished he never dared to remember. But that was a good day and he found himself smiling.
Little did he know that when he took that lipstick off it's place on the shelf, something was going to happen.
Something he was never aware off, something that would change his life.
