Synopsis
Lex had always been the unreligious one... well, not anymore. Come, let me tell you a little story. However, this came at the price of a change. These deities wouldn't be held down by human wants, rather, they fed on the praise and prayers of humans, in return, granting the prayers of these humans. Fast Forward Thousands of years later, humanity's trust in these deities had diminished, with that, the deities fell in their numbers too, losing their abilities. But this wasn't a problem, the world was at peace...Or So They Thought. The hell hounds have suddenly attacked the kingdom of heaven -- the domain of the deities. The deities were losing the war very fast as the humans weren't refueling their power. Realising that the war was a lost cause, The Supreme Deity came down onto earth, with a grand revenge plan. Chapter 1 - You'll Be Damned

It was a dark and watery smelling street, the soft musical sound of the dying rain tapping rhythmically on the floor filled the air. It was accompanied by a rich smell of obviously nice tasting delicacies, very few stars could be seen in the dimly lit night sky. The moon was a half-crescent glow which hid behind the snowy white cloud. It seemed like a night with uncertainties...

"Wait, what!?" Lex suddenly stopped, raising his hand and taking a closer look at the piece he was writing. "No one would believe this shit, man! Who created these heavenly bodies and what? Nice tasting what!?" Lex yelled again, shaking his head in distaste.

Anna raised a brow, she had taken note of him all this while, but had deliberately ignored him. But when her only family was starting to behave like a lunatic, she couldn't help but worry about him.

"What are you doing?" Anna asked, peering at the book that sat on the table, in front of Lex.

Lex ignored her for a moment, maybe deliberately. He inhaled deeply, a deep grin spreading across his face.

He suddenly grabbed Anna while smiling like someone who was possessed.

"Creating my own bible story, Yeah!"

Anna blinked absently for a moment, then she shook her head and slapped the hand that was holding her firmly away.

Anna shook her head as she put the ear piece back into her ears, "I wonder why I even bothered with you in the first place. I just hope God forgives you."

Lex face fluctated an emotion for a moment as he spoke in a low tone. "What? forgives me? Lex let out a small grin before his voice slowly rose a pitch, startling Anna as he continued.

"Forgive me? I'm the one who should forgive him..."

"After all he has done for you?" Anna asked, she never ceased to be suprised by her twin's weird character.

Lex grinned again. "Or you mean after all he has done to me!" Anna rolled her eyes. This wasn't the first time they were having this discussion. She knew exactly what Lex was driving at.

"At least you're alive," she said.

No..no..no, he began swinging his finger to accentuate his point.

"I never asked to be born in the first place. He created me, so he should take responsibility and take good care of me. Goddammit!"

"Not putting me through series of bad experiences day after day, and what's more, I have no parent to guide or console me!"

"But you have a sister, a twin at that," Anna was starting to say, but Lex hardly let her off, ignoring her.

"Even after all he has done to me...I..I...still forgive him. Anna, guess why," Lex said, flashing a grin.

Anna raised her brows. She had heard most of his tantrums, but this one was new, and to be honest, she wanted to hear this too badly.

Anna disappeared in her own thoughts, "Why?" She whispered under her breath.

"Because...Lex started to say, then he took a quick pause, for suspenseful impact. Because...I am better than him."

The room went silent.

Anna paused for a few seconds.

..."B-better than him?..."

Then she screamed.

"What! You Blespheme! You little brat! I hope God doesn't curse you!"

Lex looked away, inhaling deeply.

"Of course, He would have cursed me... if He really did care...but how could he? When he doesn't even exist?

Anna left her senses gaping at her twin brother. She suddenly felt like the earth was spinning. She quickly stood up and left the room, she couldn't stay here with Lex any longer, she needed air, his teachings were suffocating her.

...

Anna stood outside the room, she fondled her pocket and brought a small handkerchief. It looked old, but still very neat.

She clutched the handkerchief tightly, remembering the night she found it under the wreckage of their car. Her mother had wrapped it around a broken cross, her final prayer unanswered. "Stay strong, Anna," her father's voice echoed in her memory. But these days, staying strong felt like an uphill battle. Maybe it would have been easier had her father survived.

The handkerchief was the only relic of her parents that she had left. This was the only thing that still kept her going, still kept her believing in God and his powers. But this days...

She had to admit it, sometimes, it felt like her brother was right. Maybe he had really abandoned them.

Again, why wouldn't he? When she had a brother like Lex?

Anna took a deep breath as she began walking away. She didn't know where she was going to, but she knew she just had to walk. She had to pass time, she couldn't let Lex corrupt her mind, even though he made strange sense sometimes.

A tear fell from her eyes as she remembered that night, that cold night when it happened...the loss that changed their family forever.

---

Lex clicked his tongue slightly. "Damn..." He mused to himself as he tore the page that he had been writing. This wasn't it, he needed something more, something to intrigue these religious fanatics. He stood up to go get a glass of water, when he was back, he would continue. Maybe a glass of water would help, it was always did.

Lex hummed slightly as he opened the refrigerator, taking out a bottle of water and pouring it into a glass cup. Water always solved his problems, he loved water, maybe it was because that was the only thing they could afford.

Lex felt a strange tremor fill the air, causing him to pour the water on the floor. He clicked his tongue in annoyance as he readied himself to clean the mess.

"That's strange..." Lex mused to himself. The tremor had come from nowhere.

Before he could take a step forward, there was sudden crack of lightening in the sky, and the sound that followed after was heaven rendering.

Lex was startled and he dropped to the floor in shock, a shout escaped his lips. "Oh my God!"

The thunder disappeared as soon as it came, and Lex was soon back to his senses. He shook his head, clearly annoyed with himself.

"Oh your God?" Lex spoke to himself. "That's damned hypocritical, man!"

Lex walked back towards the room that he shared with his sister. He sipped the water as he walked along, carrying the bottle with him, incase he needed more water.

However, from a distance, he could see bold writing on the paper, and it even seemed to be glowing.

"Huh? Lex muttered to himself, suddenly surprised. He dashed over to the paper and he was very correct, he saw it clearly, it was indeed a writing. One that he could read very well.

"YOU WILL BE DAMNED"

Lex took a sharp breath in, his heart suddenly beat faster and faster. "What the hell is this?" he whispered, his voice trembling. His eyes darted around the room, searching for some logical explanation. Maybe Anna was pulling a prank? But no—he'd seen her leave. "It's just stress," he muttered, wiping the sweat from his forehead. Yet, the glowing words seemed to pulse in time with his racing heartbeat.

BOOM!

There was another crack of thunder and Lex quickly fell to the floor, startled by the sudden and loud shout.

He would hate himself even more this time as he shouted in an even louder voice...

OH MY GOD!
