Lex stood up hurriedly. Now, he was starting the hate this, it didn't seem like a prank anymore, his sister wasn't around. And so far, at least since their parents had died, it's been only the both of them. Even though they didn't really enjoy each other's company, they had to stick together. That was the fate the world had bestowed on them.
Lex grabbed his backpack and quickly stuffed the piece of paper and the pen into it.
"Where are you going?" Anna asked. She had successfully cleared her mind, and walking back into the room, she met Lex quickly wearing his backpack and getting off to god knows where.
Lex paused, definitely not expecting her to suddenly walk into the room like that. He had not prepared anything to tell her, because he expected to leave before she came back.
"Where are you going?" Anna repeated her question.
Lex took a deep breath. "Can't say for sure, but I will be back in no time."
With that, he bolted for the door. Anna shrugged and lay back on the bed.
Outside, Lex mentally muser as he ensured his worn-out skateboard was stuck to him properly. He hadn't lied to her earlier, he actually didn't know where he was headed. Right after the words on the paper disappeared, he heard a voice. And it was really calling him.
The voice came calling him, an energy was pulling him to where he knew not. He was even more confused by the fact that he was running to heed this call, he didn't know exactly why.
Lex was confused.
"Bah!" He mused to himself. "It's not like I have a life to get back to if anything goes wrong."
Lex remembered his sister, and he bit his lips. He had a premonition that he was heading for somewhere dangerous. But he couldn't do anything else.
He accelerated even more, racing into a lonely highway. About an hour later, he had come off his skateboard and now, he was running into the woods. Lex was amused by the urgency with which he was heeding the strange call but somehow, he was sure that he wasn't in control. However, he couldn't help it.
---
Lex took a moment to pause and he looked around him carefully. This was a scary phenomenon. He didn't believe in ghosts or shit like that, but right now, why won't he be scared of a ghost?
The woods were eerily quiet, the trees weirdly moving in order. The trees leaned forward and backward, following the gentle order of the commander breeze.
He had an urge to go back instantly and he almost heeded did that. But that was how close how came to going back, almost.
Lex folded the skateboard and placed it carefully in his bag, then he took off running. Thankfully for him, he was running downwards, so he just allowed gravity to propel him downwards as he steadily balanced himself so he wouldn't get thrown too far.
A few minutes later, Lex was in front of a cave. He wanted to avoid it, but the call was suddenly getting stronger and even more powerful.
He knew it had to be there, whatever was calling him was right in there.
For the first time since he started this abrupt journey, he really let his curiosity rule the day. He had come all this far, he couldn't feel the pull from the voice again, but he knew it was still calling him. Right now, he had the freedom to make whatever choice he wanted.
Lex inhaled briefly, then he strolled into the cave.
The cave was very dark, but there was a steep light glowing from somewhere within the cave, and that gave him a checkpoint. He was going to investigate the light first.
As Lex came closer to the light, his heartbeat suddenly beat faster.
But this time, his heart wasn't beating in fear, rather, it was beating in wonder.
Wonder on the beauty of what he was seeing now.
Lex fixed his gaze on the light, it was a beautiful piece.
The light was pulsating, as if it possessed a heart beat if it's own. At the same time, it's colours were slowly changing, flashing different colours of light at the same time.
Lex wasn't sure if the low and melodic hum he was hearing was coming from the light or whatever, the sound was beautiful.
As Lex moved closer, he saw something. No, he first perceived something.
A faint, celestial fragrance filled the air. Lex could only associate the scent with something celestial because he was sure this wasn't coming from a...
Lex heard the sound of droplets and he looked downwards, seeing drops of shimmering ichor --Divine Blood--
Then as he moved even closer, he saw the outline of something, a person perhaps...but the size? That was just too big...
Lex finally stepped fully into the room, and he was definitely stunned.
Lex slowly looked the creature up and down, it was probably a human, it looked like one, but the size...
Lex was shocked speechless. He stared as he noticed that a golden spear was stuck to its chest, causing most of its pain.
The creature's eyes were closed, and it groaned occasionally.
Lex's hand quickly ran to his lips, he shut his mouth tightly, shocked even more by the fact that the light was coming from the creature's body.
It was seemingly trying to heal itself, but the spear stuck In its chest wouldn't let it.
Lex quietly started to tiptoe away, being careful not to make any sound.
"Wouldn't it be a shame if you just left like that?"
Lex squealed as he heard the cool voice. He didn't need to turn around to know who had spoken.
Lex slowly turned around, the Creature's eyes was still closed.
Lex wanted to ignore and continue running when he noticed it. The creature's eyes was starting to open.
Lex involuntarily dropped his mouth open as he stared at the celestial colored eyes.
"What...are those?" Lex whispered amidst wonder.
