Chapter 6 - Celestial Maid

Lex stared at the Celestial Maid for what seemed like eternity to him, however, it was only a few seconds. He wondered how the maid recognized him.

It was then that he looked at his hand and he saw it. A tattoo resided there. The tattoo was pitch black in color and shaped like an angel's wings, but with something that seemed like a crown atop it. Lex tried to speak, but his voice was cut. He cleared his throat awkwardly and began: "Umm... Send the reinforcements to the soldiers."

Well, what else could he say?

The man bowed again. "I can do this right away, my lord, but there is a problem."

"And what might that be?" Lex asked, trying his best to sound like a true deity.

"Well, I am one now, but only in name. I haven't achieved the transcendence yet." The maid consumed. We have only two battalions of reinforcements left. Once this one is deployed, then our reinforcements would be as good as finished," the maid answered.

Lex nodded. He understood these sort of scenes perfectly well, as he was probably the most addicted to war games and world building stories, stories where MCs would have to build an empire from scratch. He couldn't believe he had become one of such MCs now. Lex ran a quick analysis in his mind and he quickly came up with a plan. "How many warriors does the reinforcement consist of?"

The maid replied immediately: "Two battalions of 500 Celestial Warriors, my lord." Lex thought for a while and spoke. "Divide them into 50 warriors each. That makes 20 batches. "Send two out first to help the warriors in the battlefield, then put the remaining 18 into extensive training. They need to be twice as strong as they were previously, and would be of notable help by the time another reinforcement is needed."

The maid bowed and left. Lex turned around, closely assimilating the knowledge of the deity that was passed onto him. Sending 500 soldiers out to fight at once wasn't really a smart idea, in his opinion. Such a squad would only make up for numbers and buy more time before they are eventually wiped out. The portion wouldn't bring any quality along, their size would prevent them from showing their teamwork properly. So dividing the one into 50 elite warriors, that was simply the only alternative they had to play now. Lex slowly sat down on the floor. He was looking for somewhere where he could realign his mind and attempt to execute the breathing technique or his cultivation. This place seemed too perfect for that.

--

Lex had walked into the quiet and expansive land. He made his way to the middle, where a drawing that seemed like merging of different shapes sat.

Lex looked around him now, the drawing at the center stretched far and beyond, connecting to the circled edges of the room. Lex slowly bent and reached out to touch the drawing at the center and it responded to his touch, like it was a living being.

The drawing emanated a soft glow, a soothing echo resonated through the room, glowing warmly before it slowly died, throwing the room back into its original state.

Lex sat in the middle, he crossed his legs like a monk and closed his eyes. The moment he did, he felt another presence in this world, many, countless of them. Lex slowly opened his fists. He focused even more, trying to picture something in his mind. Just what it was exactly, he didn't know. There were actually so many things that he didn't know. But he was okay, the supreme deity was guiding his thoughts and his every move. Slowly but surely, something came into view.

A slow and light glowing green orb floated towards him, it broke into the pitch black void of his mind, illuminating it.

Lex focused even harder and his body suddenly transitioned again, throwing him even deeper into the black void, with no signs of his current environment.

Lex opened his eyes as he felt the sudden change. "Where am I?"

But there was no reply, no other sound either. Not even the echo of his voice that should have come, given the empty hollow that he was in.

Lex looked around nervously, turning around quickly as his heart suddenly accelerated.

"Your mind." A voice broke through the silence, startling Lex.

Lex spun around very quickly, jumping backwards and facing the owner of the voice.

To his greatest surprise, he saw someone whom he had never thought he would see again. Someone who had turned to a statue right in front of him.
