Chapter 7 - Cultivation

Lex saw the deity that had thrown him into this mess, standing right there and staring at him.

Lex let out a startled scream as he stumbled backwards a bit.

"Y-you! How are you here!? I thought you died!" Lex shouted, pointing at the deity.

He truly wished the deity was dead, that was his only punishment for throwing him into such a mess and separating him from his sister. She must be ruined by now.

The Deity smiled cooly. "Of course I am. But only physically."

"What do you mean?" Lex asked, feeling the relief disappear. He continued to step backwards slowly, as he still didn't trust the deity. Not yet.

The Deity shrugged. "I live, yet still, but only in your mind."

Lex sighed in realization. "Oh, that's right, you said I was in my mind. "He spoke while still stepping backwards, if anything changes, he was going to run instantly. He didn't know where he would be running to, but anywhere that this deity wasn't would be a good idea.

"So where is my body now?" Lex asked, trying to shift the Deity's attention from his body.

The Deity stared at him, taking in his every movement. "Your body is still in the meditation room, still seated at the heart of it."

Lex nodded slowly, then he suddenly turned around and made to run.

He had barely taken even a step forward when his head rammed into something and he fell to the floor, clutching his head in pain.

But before he could even cry out in pain, a soft glow emanated from that very

spot where he had the made impact. The glow spread around, it turned into a box that locked him in, confining him to the small area within the

box. Lex stood up quickly, he was walked towards the white glow in slow, scared steps. He trying to touch it, but his hand went right through.

He tried pushing it, but nothing happened. He cracked up a powerful blow and punched the box, but his powerful attack simply dissipated as the shockwave was simply distributed around the box equally.

Lex turned to face the Deity. The white glow slowly disappeared, but he knew he was still there, it would only show up to remind him of his confinement. He shot the Deity an angry glare. "What did you do to me..."

The deity shrugged. "Me? I didn't do anything. I... can't do anything, you have all my powers now and I... am simply a large human."

"Then how did this happen!" Lex yelled, slightly angry. His head was still hurting from the impact. The deity's face suddenly turned serious.

"I don't have much time left, be quiet and let me explain some things to you."

Lex's face narrowed in suspicion, but he didn't voice it out. This was certainly not the last time he was coming here, when next he came, he would have the chance to ask the Deity why someone who was more or less a spirit said he had little time left.

The deity continued. "This endless void signifies your endless potential as a celestial being, but the box, the little space you are allowed, stands for your current reach. It shows how much you have tapped into your Divine powers as a deity."

Lex raised a brow. "So it shows how strong I am?"

The deity nodded. "Yes, the stronger you get, the bigger the box gets."

Lex nodded, he was about to say something else but the deity continued. "Practicing your breathing technique here and cultivating the elements here is easier and more effective. It goes a long way for your improvement."

Lex nodded again, he wanted to say something but the deity had disappeared before he could even open his mouth.

"Goddamit..." Lex muttered.

With the disappearance of the Deity, the orbs started coming again, this time, the glowing green orbs were countless. They hovered towards him, but none of them came so close. Lex looked at the orbs, from his experience with Cultivation Stories, he knew that this would somehow lead to his Cultivation. But wait, what was he

Cultivating exactly? He shook his head, maybe he would find out later.

At first, Lex stared at the Orbs, willing them to come closer.

The Orbs seemed to move, but it was just his

imagination going wild. They hadn't moved an inch. When it was obvious that the orbs were not moving, Lex stopped and tryed another method. However, it still didn't work. He paused, calming his body and mind.

Lex delved within himself, allowing his brain to do the thinking.

This is the Divine realm, and everything here is of

Celestial nature, and these Orbs are definitely Divine objects too...

Lex closed his eyes. "My human senses and will

cannot move them, it is too weak for that. So... I have to tap into my Divine senses."

With that, Lex opened his eyes. He took one deep breath, then another, and another. He stared at the

Orbs, trying to form a Divine connection with them. He didn't know how to do it or whether moving the orbs was even possible, but hey, he is in his mind, so he should be able to do whatever he wished. he kept trying. "Divine senses, awaken!" he thought. But no response. He had seen countless light novel characters do it, and he was going to do it too.

Lex focused even more, the moment the Divine connection was formed, Lex felt it. It felt like another timezone had opened up in his mind...but wait? Isn't this his mind?

"Yes!" Lex shouted in his mind as he noticed the orb flying towards him rapidly. However, his outburst had shifted his focus slightly, slowing the orb.

Lex started taking deep breaths again. "Okay, okay...calm down...calm down..."

Lex felt the orb move faster again.

"Tsk... Lex mused to himself. So this how the deity had pulled me back back when we were in the cave..."

The Deity's Divine senses were even more powerful and his human resistance certainly had not been even nearly enough to repel the Deity's control of him.

"Tsk, he could have even brought the entire cave down with him if he so wished."

Lex maintained his focus on a certain level, he didn't want to go and overdo it.

Slowly but steadily, the orb came very close to him.

Lex let out a relieved sigh as the green orb came in contact with his body, dissipating into a bright warm glow that was immediately absorbed by his body.

"That's one..."
