Chapter 9 - Rebel Prejudice

Following the battle in the mountains, it was very clear that Sinoca and Inamaru had a lot of training left to do. They decided that they would go around training with a lot of the rebel stations as well. Since they were already planing to use them, it was the perfect time to get started. The first rebel group they ran into was one completely run by demons. They were not very happy when they saw that Inamaru had brought Sinoca with him. Their leader was the first to meet up and walk to the duo. He was a large demon with jet black skin and four arms. His voice was deep and loud as he spoke.

"Inamaru, why have you brought this....filthy human with you?" The leader asked. Sinoca immediately took offense, as most would, and started to walk towards the demon angrily. However, Inamaru raised his hand, stopping her.

"Khoros," Inamaru said in a jokey tone, "come on now. You know I wouldn't bring an enemy here, right? This is Sinoca. She was betrayed by the DCU and wants to get revenge on them."

"Hmmp, we shouldn't be so quick to trust a human," Khoros answered, they are selfish by nature and only made for destruction. They destroy their own world due to their greed." Sinoca was getting very irritated by the tone and words of the demon. It took a lot of restraint to not attack Khoros on the spot.

"Trust me," Inamaru said, "she can be a big help to us."

"Why should we believe she'll help us," Khoros asked, "what loyalty truly does she have to us?"

"I don't have loyalty to you," Sinoca interrupted. Inamaru had a spooked look on his face as some of the demons behind Khoros readied themselves to attack. Khoros lifted his hand as if to tell them to stand down.

"Sinoca, don't-" Inamaru tried to plea, but he was cut off by Khoros.

"No! Let her speak!" Khoros answered. "You don't have loyalty to the demons?"

"No I don't," Sinoca said proudly. "My loyalty is to humans. I was a member of the DCU until I learned that they were a corrupt organization that killed my father, and secretly worked with demons to keep this level of control. I fight to save humanity. If I find that you guys are a threat to the innocent people who are just trying to live their lives, I won't hesitate to kill you all." The atmosphere was tense as Sinoca and Khoros stared into each other's eyes. Inamaru was getting more nervous as the two then looked ready to fight as well. Suddenly Khoros started to laugh. His laugh bellowed throughout the entire compound. It was as if it was contagious, as his men began to laugh as well.

"Well, I can appreciate your honesty, human," Khoros said. "Believe me, my people and I just want to live in peace. The DCU has been the biggest obstacle in that. Don't get me wrong, I hate humans. I believe everything I just said about them. So I doubt we will be friends, but we can work to gather for now. I have no desire to take them out." Sinoca nodded.

"Sounds good," Sinoca said. She started to walk past, but Khoros stopped her.

"One little thing," Khoros said, "I don't want you to pretend that you could hope to defeat me." Sinoca looked at helium, sizing him up, and then she smiled.

"Do you want to try it big guy?" Sinoca challenged. Inamaru walked up to Sinoca and whispered in her ear.

"Sinoca, what are you doing," he whispered.

"I know what I'm doing," Sinoca whispered back. "What do you say, big man?" Khoros turned to his men.

"Ready the sparring grounds, I'm going to teach this uppity human a lesson," Khoros answered. "Follow me little girl." Khoros started to walk as Sinoca shrugged and followed him. They walked to a grassy area in the middle of the grassy plain was a dirt rectangular area. Many of the demons had already gathered to watch the fight. Word of sparring matches spread fast in this camp. They loved to spar with one another, and Khoros was the only person in the camp that was undefeated. Khoros entered the center of the ring and gestured for Sinoca to go with him. Sinoca and Inamaru both started to walk forward, but Khoros raised his hand.

"You know the rules, Inamaru," Khoros said, "just her." Inamaru looked over to Sinoca, who simply put her bag on the ground. Unexpectedly, she handed Inamaru her blade, as she pulled a collapsible metal staff from her bag.

"Sinoca," Inamaru said grabbing her shoulder.

"Don't worry," she said, looking back at Inamaru, giving him a confident smile. "I'll be fine." As Sinoca started to walk forward, she had a determined look in her eyes. As she arrived, she walked in front of Khoros. A smaller demon with white skin got in between them.

"I shall explain the rules to those of you who....are not aware," the demon said, staring at Sinoca while delivering the last line. "You two will fight inside the dirt ring. You fight until one of you gives up, steps outside the ring or is unable to continue. Is that understood?"

"Understood," Sonoma said. She extended her staff and got into a ready position.

"Begin!" The ref demon said. Instantly, Khoros charged at Sinoca. He was throwing multiple punches with all four arms. However, Sinoca, using the staff, was defending against all of them. She would block the strike with the staff, hitting the demon's arm and just the right spot to stop the attack. Still, Khoros felt as if he was in control. He kept attacking, but still he couldn't get inside Sinoca's defense. As Sinoca was defending, she was analyzing how Khoros was attacking. Finally, she found her opening. In a flash, she made her way in close and kicked Khoros in the gut, sending him falling to his knees. Sinoca backed up, before Khoros got a chance to counterattack.

"You thought I'd be an easy mark," Sinoca teased, "big mistake."
