Amber stared at the figure which stood before her for a few seconds, trying to recall if she had ever meant him before.
"Sure". She said reluctantly.
Jai sat on the chair across her, he waved at the bar attendant.
"What brand of drink would you like to have". Jai asked, facing Amber who was absent minded.
"I'm okay, I do not care for another drink". Amber said, her voice so pale.
"But your cup is almost empty". Jai said, persuading her to accept.
"Fine, I would take something light". She said with a huge sigh.
"You look depressed, maybe I can help if you share your burden with me". Jai said he tried initiating a discussion between him and Amber.
*Was he trying to make a mockery of me after the drama displayed earlier*. Amber thought.
"I'm fine and do not need any help from you". Amber said,
"If you say so". Jai said, he gulped down the drink in his hand.
"But you look worried to me". He pushed further.
"I just said I'm fine!". Amber yelled at him, her anger overshadowed her voice.
"Oh, I'm sorry if I had bothered you at your quiet time, but I was only trying to be nice". Jai apologized on noticing how mad she was.
*Is he trying to bring up some sort of discussion? It was probably too early especially immediately after Alex breakup*. Amber thought.
"If you don't mind, I will be taking my leave". Amber said, she stood up and quickly grabbed her bag.
"Be careful". Jai said he helped Amber to gain her balance after she had almost tripped over.
"Why don't I drive you home, you look really tipsy and won't be able to go home all by yourself". He said.
"I'm fine, I would be able to, I don't need any help from you". Amber said, freeing herself from his hand. She tried taking another step but also nearly tripped again.
"Listen! I'm taking you home, I can't let you go out there all by yourself at your condition". Jai insisted.
"But I just said I'm fine". Amber said in her drunk state.
"You would follow me". Jai said he got hold of her bag and helped her out.
"Can you let me know your address?". Jai asked, Amber reluctantly brought out her ID and handed it over to him.
Jai walked towards the passengers door, opened it for Amber to get down.
"I guess this is your home". He said after he had opened the door.
"Thanks for looking after me tonight". Amber said, planting a kiss on Jai's lips.
"It was all my pleasure". He said, pulling himself away from her.
Jai got back into his car.
"Shit, I forgot to give her back her ID". He said, picking it up from the passenger's seat.
"I guess I would have to go meet her myself and return this". He said, after glancing through it for a while.
"I think you've got a visitor". Rita said to Amber
"A visitor?". Amber asked surprised, she couldn't tell who the person was as she was never expecting anyone.
"Good morning, how can I help you?". She asked Jai, she could not tell if she had meant him before as she could barely remember his face.
"I'm Robert Jai". Jai said, extending his hand for a handshake which she responded to.
"I'm I welcomed in?". He asked, his voice sounding teasing.
"I'm sorry, but I don't think we have met before". Amber said, hoping he would explain how he got to know her.
"Oh, I guess you could barely recall much as a result of the alcohol". He said, a smile playing on his lips.
"I was the guy who helped you get home yesterday". He said.
"Thanks, for yesterday. I was really so worried and lost control over myself and took in more shots of alcohol than I should". Amber said, her hand running through her hair as she recalled who he was.
"It was nothing, I'm glad that you got home safe". Jai said.
"Here". He said, handing over the ID to her,
"I forgot to return this after dropping you off". A gentle smile on his face.
"Thanks, I have searched around for it". Amber said, taking the ID from his hand.
"It's my pleasure". Jai said, he thrusted his hand into the pocket of his trouser.
"Do you mind if I get you something refreshing before you leave?". Amber tried being polite, looking for a way to repay his favor.
"That won't be necessary, I'm already late for a meeting so I think u should be leaving". Jai said, he stared at the watch on his hand.
"Then can I have your contact". Amber hesitated.
"Here, that's my personal ID you can get to me through it". He handed over an ID to her.
"You don't have to return it, you can keep it with you". He said, his smile broadened a bit, as he turned and left without any more words.
Amber stared at the ID with a smile, she immediately did it into the little pocket of her T-shirt.
"He looks rich". She said, the smile still on her face.
"How is your job going?". Amber asked, it wasn't like she cared about it anyway, she was only looking for a way to pick at Amelia.
"I just started, I hope you are not expecting a nice reply for that". Amelia said coldly.
"I wasn't either". Amber snapped, her face with a look of mockery.
"Why should I when I have more important business to focus on". She said, picking up her phone and heeded to her room.
Amber stayed up all night, she kept on having stupid thoughts about Jai, she really intended to know him more, he seemed nice to her. She picked up the ID he had given to her earlier.
"I'm really thinking right". She said, a smile on her face.
"I think so". She chuckled.
Standing before the huge mansion, Amber kept wondering what it was going to look like on the inside.
There was a lot of security at the place but she didn't mind. She introduced herself to the security at the gate, showed her ID and also the one given to her by Jai and was let in.
Seeing Jai walk down the stairs made her heart thump. She had finally gotten her way in but what is she going to say when he asks her for her purpose of coming.
