Amelia acted absent minded, pretending not to have heard the call.
"Get in!". Jai yelled at her again. She ignored him and turned around the other way.
"It's really dangerous for you to move alone at this time". He said, his voice filled with anger.
"Why do you care!". Amelia shouted back at him, increasing her pace.
Amelia laid on her bed, her mind flooded with thoughts and emotions.
"Why does he keep on coming before me? Why all of a sudden after all these years. I thought I would never get to meet him again but it seems like he is all around me. This is so hard for me".
Amelia could feel a huge burden resting on her, she thought she had made it through all the years, wiping all his trace of memories but here was he, always standing before her in her tough time.
Amber emerged from the elevator, she maintained her composure walking elaborately towards Jai office as directed by the receptionist. She pressed on the bell on the door.
"Come in!". Jai shouted from the inside.
Amber walked in quietly, sitting in the chair opposite Jai.
"Good morning Mr Robert". She greeted him, signifying her presence.
Jai lifted up his head slightly and continued with the task before him without a word.
"I'm not welcome here or do you expect me to come back some other time". Amber said, her voice cold. Jai had made her sit for over five minutes without saying a word.
"I would attend to you once I'm through with the job before me". He said without glancing at her face.
"I do not think I would be able to wait any longer, I have other plans and tasks to attend to and you can't make me sit here for as long as you feel like". Amber said, her voice with fury.
"You really seem angry". Jai said, his voice sounding funny but he was serious.
"Why should I? I have every right to be, you do not expect me to wait for you to do all your activities while mine are awaiting me". She said, decreasing her voice.
"Why did you decline the ride yesterday and acted so strangely?". Jai said, his face looking serious.
"Me? Did I even get to meet with you?". Amber exclaimed in shock.
"Do not pretend like you know nothing about what I'm saying". Jai said,
"I don't!". Amber said, without letting him get to the end of his statement.
"You must be joking right? Or you are only trying to justify yourself". He said, an unknown smile on his face.
"I've been serious here and you classify all as a joke!". Amber yelled, she was getting infuriated by Jai holding to his fact that he had met her the previous day.
"So you are saying that you are not the one I met standing at the pedestrian walkway and offered a ride yesterday?". Jai asked inquisitively
"Yes!".
"Then I must have been the one who had mistaken you for some other person". He suggested, his hand running through his hair.
"How could it have been so difficult for you to tell?". Amber asked, a sneer on her face.
"It was really dark but I could tell that the person probably has all your facial appearance". Jai said, biting his lower lip.
"All my facial appearance? That's ridiculous". She said rhetorically.
"Did he probably met Amelia and had mistaken her for me?". She said, her voice low.
"Did you just say something?". Jai asked, noticing her murmur.
"No No, let's focus on today's purpose here and forget all about yesterday". She said, straighten up herself on the chair.
"Have you looked into the offer?". Jai asked,
"That might be difficult to tackle, but I would be able to". She said, rolling her eyes.
"Yes!". Jai exclaimed in excitement, stretching forth his hand for a handshake.
Amber giggled,
"The pleasure is all mine". She said, a smile on her face.
"Then you would have to attend the meeting tomorrow". Jai said,
"Tomorrow!". Amber repeated, her face filled with shock.
"Yes, why the sudden outburst?". Jai asked, surprised at the way Amber responded.
"You ought to be at each of the project meetings as long as you are part of it now". He stated.
"I wasn't expecting that to be so sudden". Amber said, his voice low.
"Is it because of your job?". Jay asked.
"Yeah, I don't think I can afford attending all meetings it would only make me become absent frequently and m your company needs me". She said,
"What about I secure full employment for you here?". Jai asked, a beaming smile on his face.
"I think you have done too much for me, I would try and figure out a way to handle this myself". Amber said, feeling a bit weird.
"I got you into this so I also need to help you out if it". Jai said, having a grim look on his face.
"I do not accept to that, I would handle it myself". She snapped, her face locked with a fierce look.
"One can tell that you are scared, it's very obvious". Jai said, getting up the chair. He moved towards where Amber was directed and stood a few distance from her.
"I'm not scared". She said, avoiding her eyes from having contact with Jai's.
"I just want to handle this myself I know the best way to manage the two employments without any interruptions, I just have to figure it rout and put it into place". Her heart pondering fast.
"If you say so, what ideas do have you pin mind now?". Jai asked, knowing full well that she had not made any plans.
"I would redraw my schedule then all would be fine". She hesitated.
"Have you ever thought of having two meetings on the same day". He said, having a sneer.
"And probably at the same time". He said, before Amber could say any word.
"Why all this funny question? What are you aiming at?". Amber asked, her voice shaky but she tried not to show how nervous she was.
"Are you doing this for the money?". Jai asked,
"No I'm not". Amber said immediately before he could finish.
"If no". He paused, his gaze fixed on her.
"Why don't you quit your job and become a full employee of my company". Jai said.
"What!!". Amber exclaimed.
