HAmber stared at Alex with disgust in her eyes.
"What are you doing here?!". She yelled at him angrily.
"I came to see you and apologize for what happened between us". Alex said softly. Amber remained silent without letting out a word, her gaze fixed on the table as she kept stirring the glass of whisky she was holding.
"I was compelled to do so and I want to amend my mistakes". Alex continued, she ceased speaking in Amber 's thunderous voice.
"Get lost!! Just get lost!!". She shouted at him angrily, her voice more louder this time, drawing the attention of the other customers at the cafe, her body vibrating in anger.
"Let's get out of this place". Calla said, holding Amber up from the chair and gathering their things quickly.
"Hear me out first". Alex said, making her hold her hand.
"Get your filthy hands off me!". Amber shouted at him, shrugging her hands away.
She gave out a heavy breath upon arriving at the doorstep of her apartment.
"I can never imagine seeing such a beast in my life again". She said, her voice filled with anger.
"He does not deserve your love, save it for the right person". Calla said.
"Thank goodness you were there or I would have used the bottle on that table to give him some designs". Amber said angrily.
Calla chuckled loudly.
"I could surely say you would do worse than that now, get in and take some good night's sleep". She said, turning around to leave immediately Amber had stepped in.
"I've got some good news". Amber declared while they were having dinner.
"Oh! Really? What is it all about?". Mrs Charles asked happily, a smile on her face.
"I've decided to change my work place". She declared knowing it was not going to sound so good.
"That's really thoughtful of you". Mrs Charles said.
"What? Is there anything right there?". Ella questioned angrily.
"Yes, there's a lot to that". Amber snapped.
"At least I would make more progress there especially when I was offered the opportunity without undergoing an application". She said mockingly.
"Tell me all about it". Mrs Charles said, balancing her composure on the chair she sat, eager to listen to all that was about to say.
"I was some sort of person a few days ago, we suddenly became close and, boom! I was offered the opportunity to work in his company". Amber said without hesitation.
"You are really a girl with wisdom". Mrs Charles appraised her.
"Unlike your sister". She said, giving Amelia a mocking look.
"Why the sudden change, is the salary higher than your other workplace?". Amelia asked considerately.
"That's none of your business". Amber snapped at her.
"But we all deserve to know a clue to it, right mom?". She said, facing her mom who did not glance at her.
"Stop meddling with others' business and focus on your own". Mrs Charles said coldly.
Amelia let out a huge sigh, feeling unimportant, she picked up her phone and the mug of coffee she had been drinking and made it to her room.
"What should we celebrate with?". Mrs Charles asked.
"Let's grab a bottle of whisk". Amber said, moving to the refrigerator, she brought out a bottle of whisk and placed it on the table.
"You could come join us if you feel like it!!!". She shouted out to Amelia who was already in her room.
"I'm not interested!!!". Amelia yelled back at her from her room.
Amber got dressed quickly hoping not to be late, she had already drafted a resignation letter to submit at her other work place. She opened the door to Jai's office slowly, her heart thumping fast.
"Good morning Mr Robert". She greeted him on stepping in.
"I can tell you made it, perfect timing". Jai said softly, a smile on his face.
"Sit". He instructed her to point at the chair opposite him.
"The meeting would start by nine, so you still have some time to relax your mind and get prepared". He said, lifting his head up slightly.
"Would you like to have anything?". He asked.
"No I'm fine, I had bread and jam earlier so I don't feel hungry". Amber said,
"What about a cup of coffee to cool you still". He said, without looking at her.
"Fine". Amber said reluctantly.
"You must be the only child of your parents". Amber said, dropping the mug of coffee.
"What makes you think so?". Jai giggled.
"You never seem stressed to me". She said,
"That must be smart of you, it seems like you are a good observer". Jai said, he groaned softly.
"What about you?". He asked.
"Me?". Amber asked with amusement.
"Yes you, are you an only child?". Jai asked, a little smile on his face.
"No I'm not, I have siblings". She said,
"Then you must be the oldest". He suggested.
"No I'm not. I have an elder brother but I haven't seen him for a long time". She said, her voice sounding a bit sad.
"What happened?". Jai asked considerately.
"He left overseas with my dad after my parents separated, I lost his contact and since then I've been unable to reach him anymore". She said,
"So you live with only your mom now". Jai said, his eyes brightened up.
"No, I also have a twin sister although she's older than me". She said,
"I'm so sorry about you having a separated family". Jai said.
"That's fine, I'm only fed up with my sister, I wish I never had a sister or probably she never got to be my twin or maybe someone who has better characteristics than her". Amber said with a sneer on her face, she gave out a huge sigh.
"Why? I always hoped I had a sibling". Jai said with surprises written all over his face.
"That's only going to happen when you have a sibling that is much better than mine who always ends up making foolish decisions and oftentimes throws my mom into a panic". She snapped, a smirk on her face.
"You really sound upset about your sister". Jai said.
"I'm sorry if I would upset you further, but can I know more about your sister?". He asked.
