Mrs Charles kept smiling at Amelia,
"You are right, it was favored and you have an interview to attend today". She said
"You do not have any cost to be late". Mrs Charles stressed out,
"Am not attending the interview". Amelia said coldly.
"Why? Have you gone crazy?". Mrs Charles asked angrily
"I'm not yet ready to start a job, I need some time to rest and take off the stress of my previous job". She said, her face still.
"I think you've gotten ridiculously crazy. Do you expect us to provide all you need?". Mrs Charles asked, a sneer on her face.
"That's not what I expect, but I would look for one soon". Amelia said,
"You are attending the interview!". Mrs Charles thundered.
"I don't care what you think about it or not, go get dressed so we won't get late". She reduced the anger in her voice.
"You can't keep on pushing me around!, I have every right to make decisions for myself". Amelia yelled, her eyes filled with fury.
"I have the right to make decisions for you, especially when you end up making foolish actions and decisions without thinking about the effects of your decision!". Mrs Charles shouted at her.
Amelia opened her mouth to say more, or rather still to tell her mother how she felt about getting a new job at such a state, but her mom's voice overshadowed her even before she could say anything.
"You should then be ready to leave my house if you are not ready to adhere to my decision". She said, her face expressing how serious she was.
Amelia swallowed hard, she was left wordless, she had nothing else to say to her mom, her mom was firm to her decision and that was one thing that could not be changed.
"Fine! I would go but don't keep your expectations high". She said reluctantly.
Stepping into the elevator, Amelia kept wondering what would be the outcome of the interview.
She sat quietly in the receptionist's room, her heart pondering fast, her face filled with thoughts.
"You can come in Ma'am". The receptionist's voice brought Amelia's mind back from her deep thoughts.
She stood up sluggishly, arranged her clothes and walked into the office.
"You must be Miss Charles Amelia?". Fred asked after she sat on the chair opposite him.
"Yes". She said, her voice low as she nodded her head to it also.
Fred opened the lower drawer of his desk and brought out a form.
"Here, fill in all your details into it". He said, handing over the form to her.
"If you are confused about anything, you can ask me". He added, as she glanced through the form.
"Thanks". She said, bringing out a pen from her purse. She handed the form back to Fred immediately she was through with it.
"You would have to wait for a few minutes before we proceed with the rest". Fred said to her.
"Do you mind having a coffee while you wait?". He asked her.
"No, I'm fine". Amelia said quickly.
"What a huge day". Amelia sighed, she sat down on the couch, feeling really stressed out.
"Oh! You are home so early". Mrs Charles said, stepping into the house, at the sight of Amelia.
"How did your day go?". She asked
"It was fine". Amelia said, her voice plain as she intended on not discussing it.
"I can tell you are really stressed out, go to rest". Mrs Charles said, her smile faint.
"Stop trying to be overcaring when you are mad at me". Amelia said, getting up the couch.
Amelia picked up her phone at its beep, she glanced through the text message she had just received. She just got accepted at Dan Millian Company Limited. She was surely granted the job which was not anything nice to her. She tossed her phone aside, staring at the ceiling.
"Maybe it's my fate and I just have to accept it". She said, heaving a sigh of relief.
"I think that calls for a celebration, what should we celebrate with?". Mrs Charles asked excitedly, she was surely happier than Amelia.
"There's no need for a celebration". Amelia snapped at the idea.
"Why? It is good we celebrate you finally getting another job". Mrs Charles said.
"Amelia is right, there's no need for a celebration". Amber said, a sneer on her face.
"I think you are mistaken about the fact that she would surely end up getting fired in not less than a month or probably get pregnant by her CEO this time". Amber said mockingly, she chuckled.
"Have you gotten drunk or what?!". Amelia yelled angrily at Amber.
"You don't have to be so furious when the truth is being spoken, you have to accept it and avoid speaking back like there are all lies and it has never happened". Amber said, she stood up and picked her bag from the chair.
"And where are you heading to?". Mrs Charles asked angrily.
"You don't have to be scared about me, I can take care of myself and avoid troubles". Amber flickered.
"But there is someone here who you need to worry about". She turned, facing Amelia with a mocking look on her face.
"And what do you mean by that?". Amelia asked her in fury.
"See you later". She said, slamming the door immediately.
Amber gulped down the drink which she was holding. She had waited patiently for Alex at the bar, but he was nowhere to be seen.
She picked up her phone to call him but he did not pick up his calls. After some minutes of waiting which seemed endless he finally arrived.
"Why are you late? You promised to be here early". Amber questioned Alex immediately as he stepped towards the table where she had been seated waiting for him.
"Why are you so silent? I asked you a question". Amber raised her voice.
"I want us to end this relationship". Alex said, his words so hard.
"What?". Amber asked in shock, her jaws dropping with no words coming out of her mouth.
"You heard me right". He said he turned to leave immediately and did not listen to Amber even after she shouted his name countless times.
She sat quiet for a few seconds, holding up the cup of alcohol and kept stirring it around. She lifted her face up at the sight of a figure which stood beside her.
"Do you mind if I join you at the table? It seems to me you are all alone". Jai asked politely.
