Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Hero Summoning

A great silver lightning bolt struck down in the middle of the Demon Lord's territory around midnight.

It was so large that it was visible to the the humans who where thousands of kilometres away in their dwindling territory on the Southern part of the great continent of Aphrica.

Of course it was only visible to those close enough, but all who were awake felt the earth vibrate no matter where they were on the continent.

It woke up all who were close enough, the demons who were close to their lord's castle quickly ran after experiencing a shockwave that was strong enough to make them think that the world was about to end. Some straight up ran away while the few brave ones, mixed in with some dummies who didn't consider their strength, ran towards the castle to see what had happened.

As soon as the demons laid eyes on the castle they either froze, some fell to their knees or the slightly better ones who turned around and ran for their lives with terror written all over their face.

One thing prevailed in all the demons no matter what action they took, which was a short and simple question.....

"How?!"

....

60 minutes before the incident...

In the kingdom of Sosaphrica which is the largest and most powerful remaining kingdom of the humans, the four kings of the remaining kingdoms were gathered together as they oversaw an ancient ritual said to be able to summon heroes from another world.

"So...King Zulu, how certain are you that this will work?." Asked King Tswana of Botana looking at the king of Sosaphrica beside him with clear scepticism in his eyes.

"The decision has already been made, we all agreed to it, why are you trying to push the blame onto him if it fails huh?.... How are you still in the mood for politics right now, can't you see we're facing total extinction, why not pray it works out, instead of trying to sow discord, you can at least wait until it's over can't you?." It was King Zhona of Zimabe who answered before King Zulu could even open his mouth. He answers with a sour look on his face as it irked him that there was still someone who does not see what is at stake if it fails.

The king of Sambaya, King Bani just looked on with an amused expression on his face.

After that rebuke, no one spoke again as they just looked on at the group of priests surrounding a (sketchy looking) magic circle doing their thing with a slightly confused look on their faces.

Just when the King of Botana was about to complain again, the magic circle lit up in a golden holy light then a hoarse voice boomed.

"ALTHOUGH YOUR CIRCLE IS A BIT POORLY DONE, WE!!! THE GREAT ANCESTORS OF HUMANITY IN THIS WORLD WILL HELP YOU OUT AND MAKE IT WORK BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT OUR PEOPLE TO BE WIPED OUT EVEN IF YOU FORGOT US ("you b*stards!!"..three voices echoed in the background) BECAUSE OF SOME COMPLICATIONS THE HERO YOU RECEIVE WILL HAVE A PERSONALITY UNKNOWN TO US AND THEIR ABILITIES WILL BE RANDOM ("hahaha he doesn't want to tell them that we are also too noob to summon a good hero and that circle is just a random thing we discovered back then which we were too scared to actually use hahaha", "eyy shut up!!", "what if they hear you?!"...the voices were heard again) COUGH... ANYWAY, THE HERO SUMMONING BEGINS NOW!!!...

With that, the circle lit up so bright that everyone had to close their eyes before they could even say anything to the sudden appearance of their obviously unreliable ancestor spirits.

When the light died down, a handsome young man of about 20 years of age clad in foreign clothing to all of them, stood in the middle of the circle with an obvious look of confusion on his face...
