"What's going o...where am...who are you people?" Warily asked the confused young man standing at the center of the magic circle.
"Feel at ease young hero for you have nothing to fear here." King Zulu said while looking at the young man with a reassuring look on his face.
"Now if you follow me, all your questions will be answered in full so do not fret." He said while turning around while heading for the large door out of the room, the other kings follow behind him while secretly stealing glances at the young man like little teenage girls looking at their crush, full of curiosity.
The young man hesitates for a moment, looks at the twenty priests in white robes surrounding him, whose faces were covered by cloths then hurriedly followed after the kings since they looked way less sketchy.
A few moments later, as the kings sat on the chairs on one side of a large table and the young man on the other side and were explaining to him what was happening....
.....
FLASHBACK--- a few years back(the flashback is more going back in time than the kings' recallment since it also covers stuff the kings couldn't possibly know....so this is more for the readers than the hero)
The talk covered how the once prosperous continent of Aphrica which had many kingdoms all ruled by humans was suddenly invaded by demons who came from the sea in large ships. How at first they only attacked and conquered one kingdom up north and then went silent for five years without doing anything else other than interacting with their surrounding countries and building weird structures on their acquired territory which looked like giant circles never seen before.
As for why nobody did anything about it, it was because in Aphrica if you can defeat a kingdom then it becomes yours. Although the demons all have pale white skin while humans have different shades of brown, red eyes while humans have brown eyes, pointy eyes and little horns protruding on their foreheads, not many people questioned their appearance since everything else about them looked human enough and they even spoke the same language as those of the continent (everybody spoke English...no need to complicate things).
The nightmare started five years later after their arrival when everyone basically forgot about their mysterious background and ignored their differences since most people had better things to do than be racist. Then nine of the ten giant circles the demons built all lit up with an ominous red glow which covered their empty centers.
Of course this was only witnessed by those in the demon nation, who were mostly demons at this point. Out of one of the circles a demon suddenly appeared as if out of thin air, then another and another until demons were trickling out of the nine circles like ants out of an ant hill. Eventually there were thousands upon thousands of demons who were all dressed in armour which suggested that they were heading into war.
The unlucky kingdoms closest to the demon nation were caught unaware and unprepared and were all swiftly defeated in one night. The defeat also had to do with the demons not only being stronger than the average human soldier but also having better equipment. Along with their mages who were also more skilled than the mages of the kingdoms.
The next morning the rest of the continent was rocked with shock of what had happened over night and before they could even confirm the news two more kingdoms were raided by the demons and overthrown.
The kingdoms who were next swiftly prepared for war and evacuated their civilians to their ally nations and rallied all their military might to oppose the rampant demons, they even received some back up from their allies in their wars.
The kingdoms that were still far off thought that the situation would now stabilise since the demons no longer had the element of suprise. They ended up being even more surprised instead, as the allied kingdoms were still thoroughly defeated in no time at all.
